I think what you are describing is Dysphagia which is the medical term for the symptom of difficulty in swallowing. But I didn't had the decompression surgery so I can't tell you for after the surgery. I found that myself it's worst when I'm tired or I have surge of acid reflux.

I know heartburn is common, but I have tried EVERYTHING to get try to ease the pain of it. Everything over the counter that I am allowed to take I have tried it and it has failed :( I've changed what I eat, drink, what times I eat and everything. so i avoided liquids with my meals and it was like magic, heartburn was gone! i had it until week 20 and then suddenly i had 20 weeks of no heartburn. it was pretty amazing. anyway, you could give not drinking liquids with your meal. perhaps that will help. best of luck!

It's an old wives tale. I had very little heartburn with my first and she had a head full of fluffy dark hair lol. My friend had a lot of heartburn and her baby was bald.

Regular strength PepcidAC twice a day is what my doctor recommended. I've had excruciating heartburn since about 4months and it has been a God send! I'm 31weeks now and still take it twice a day.
