Heartburn while nursing

Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn while nursing

heartburn

408496 tn?1269603350 I was just curious if anyone is or has tried to concieve while nursing. My DS is almost 6 months old and I have had AF twice since birth, but it is irregular (which is normal for me b/c AF was irregular prior to concieving baby number 1). I was just wondering if there are any tips besides the normal stuff for TTC - like any special considerations, is it harder/easier, etc. thanks!
Avatar n tn Hi there! I am pretty sure that I'm pregnant, but it hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet. I'm nursing my 6 month old and I'm not ready to stop that yet. Has anyone nursed a baby while pregnant?
Avatar f tn As long as you and baby are happy, and you have no medical issues preventing it,there is no reason to stop nursing even after baby comes. A few nursing support groups to help with tandem nursing I found are the La Leche League (LLL) and breastfeeding mom talk.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else there find their bras are intensifying their heartburn? I am heavy chested so unfortunately, going without a bra just isn't an option for work, etc. By the end of my shift, I am dying to rip my bra off because the pressure of the band (which I've never noticed before) is too much on my esophagus and really bothering my heartburn then in turn leads to nausea. Anyone else out there?? Solutions??
262365 tn?1268508268 d like to add that I have lost two pounds between my 2 wk appointment because also for the past three weeks I have been suffering with acid flux/heartburn very badly. So bad til it makes me skip meals to avoid the heartburn. I also noticed that I wake up feeling nasally; I have to blow my nose (trying to clear my throat), it feels like the back of my throat is filled with mucus. I have not had a cold or virus or any so throat.
1841589 tn?1319711519 However, unless you want to be BFing 2 babies at once, I would try to make sure your baby is weaned before the next one is born. Some people do tandem nursing, but not my thing. Nursing one is enough work already...especially a newborn. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn It good to eat pepper while pregnant, my friend just told me i should not eat pepper it can affect the baby so it get me so sacred am from africa and we mostly eat much pepper pls calm me down
Avatar f tn October mommy if you plan to nurse I say avoid spicy for a little while to see if your baby enjoys normal breakmilk then after a while eat something spicy if you notice you baby is fussy and has tummy troubles your baby would most likely prefer you to avoid it. Only saying that because my daughter hated when I ate spicy food she didn't even want to nurse. She was like forget it! She rather be hungry than eat spicy breast milk.
Avatar f tn You have more blood volume while pregnant so your heart has to work harder. If the chest pains have you in tears I would call your doctor and let them know. Sometimes heartburn will mimic chest pain also, it could be a lot of things.
Avatar f tn Hey all! I'm still nursing my 15 month old about 4-5 times a day, I am about 5 weeks pregnant and I feel extremely drained/fatigued! I never felt this tired with my first. Anyone have any advice or know of a good way to boost energy safely? I'm drinking lots of water and trying to eat a good balanced diet and going strong on the protein. But still want to sleep all day. Any advice??
280369 tn?1316702041 It only came out if I squeezed. So anyway, this time around I was nursing when I got pregnant and my son just stopped about 9 weeks ago and my milk dried up within 3 days. I then noticed that just a little bit of what I thought was colostrum was just coming out and only if I would squeeze it. Anyway....I noticed today that nothing is coming out anymore. Is that normal? Will I just start producing milk once the baby is born or will the colostrum come back later in pregnancy?
647365 tn?1292472212 My RE will reluctantly start me on a medication protocol most likely this week but has asked that I refrain from nursing 2 days post implantation as nursing may cause uterine contractions. There are studies that suggest that nursing does not negatively affect outcomes. Anyone have any info?
2006603 tn?1331329327 I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
3127682 tn?1345498552 Just avoid it if it gives you heartburn (unless you love spicy so much you'd rather put up with the heartburn than go without it haha). It could make baby extra active, since it will flavor the amniotic fluid. They might like it and get excited :) If nursing, it could bother the baby so you might have to avoid it then.
Avatar f tn I know you have to take special BC without a certain hormone cause your body is producing it while you nurse but is the pill the only option when your nursing? or are there other methods for while nursing?
7177914 tn?1399518500 So my doc did to take the Evening Primrose Oil to try and help soften things up. But the smallest bottle had like 90 pills in them. I doubt I'll use all of them and have heard that it's a good supplement to take all the time including while nursing... But I've also heard it can dry you up... sigh does anyone know?? I'll of course be asking my doc as well but would like to hear if anyone has any personal experience with it?
Avatar f tn I do not use any form of birth control and I know it could be possible. Has any one else gotten pregnant while nursing and how did you know. I have gone up to cup sizes in about the last 3 to 4 weeks, I am extremely tired, my breast hurt and nipples are tender when my daughter nurses. I had one time spotting about a week ago and took a test the day after the spotting and it was neg. I was told it could have been implantation spotting so it would have been to early anyway.
Avatar f tn Though that is because I have seriasis, a skin condition that has covered my brest a fewmonths ago. If your friends brest are bleeding while she is nursing. There is a problem and she should see a doctor right away.
10228675 tn?1423881456 I'm curious the best place to buy Nursing tanks from? Before pregnancy i was a 38F.. now that bra is way to small.. so im looking for a nursing tank that my boobs will actually fit in.
Avatar f tn I had horrible heartburn with both of my babies and both had tons of long hair. This pregnancy I've had heartburn since I was 4 weeks that is what actually triggered me to take a test. It's always been true for me.
Avatar f tn My mom worked at a nursing home while pregnant with my brother and she had to quit so she wouldnt miscarry it is very hard wrk she had to lift people and all. If u are going to be a nurse then it may be ok but if not u may want to be truthful cause if your not and u can't do the work u will have to tell them and if it is in trial period u could be fired for not being honest to begin with about being able to do it.
Avatar f tn I'm curious about conceiving while still nursing. We have an almost 12 month old, and have been trying for the past three months to get pregnant again. I have had regular cycles for me (about every 35 days) since November and am curious how long it took other moms the second time. I'm concerned that I may be having cycles without ovulation, and we really want another baby soon.
492921 tn?1321289896 I just saw another post from you. Looks like Kaelynn is only 7 months old. It may be a little while before you can conceive again. My DH and I are extremely fertile but I wasn't able to conceive until my baby was 15 months old. I had only been trying for a couple of months but like I said, I could tell by my temps. My progesterone was just too low. And I don't have any progesterone problems whatsoever. Everyone is different.
Avatar n tn Hi I'm 5 weeks and my toddler still nurses pretty often. I planned on letting her self wean. I was seeing how anyone else's toddlers weaned while you were pregnant or if youe supply dried up?
8216409 tn?1405754433 If you ate spicy all throughout your pregnancy you should be fine eating the same as you breastfeed. I ate all kinds of spicy food while nursing, my daughter was about 18mo when she got a hold of my dads jalapeƱos...I freaked but she loved 'em and to this day she eats them like pickles.
