For those you dont know, gluten is within wheat, rye, barely, and oats. Male My doctor has told me I need to move to a gluten-free diet....yikes!!! All my life (and that is a very long time--ha ha) I have generally eaten whatever I wanted to eat. This change to a GF diet seems like such a huge mountain to climb. I know there are many others who have had to change to a GF diet after a lifetime of eating what they wanted with little or no restrictions. How does a person even get started on a change like this? What do you do when you go out to eat at a restaurant?

I am having a really hard time coming up with recipes and options to fill myself up, so far nothing I make had any flavour and it is putting me off eating. My TSH has been about .05 or less for well over 30 years, with no hyper symptoms. It is clear to me that your heartburn is related to the druggist's recommendation to reduce your med. TSH is a pituitary hormone that is affected by so many variables, that it is a poor diagnostic, by which to regulate meds. Frequently we hear from members that in order to alleviate symptoms, FT3 needs to be in the upper part of its range and FT4 at least to the midpoint of its range, without being constrained by resultant TSH.

It took about 2 months, but then her heartburn went away and she started feeling better. She dreaded taking vitamins, but she needed them. I told her about the ones at Trader Joe's that are not only gluten free, but people say they do not cause nausea.

Avatar n tn I am pretty much a vegetarian now. I do eat some fish and chicken breast on occasion though. There are recipes galore on the internet. I mainly stick to the heart healthy and liver healthy recipes. It is a bit more expensive, but I have lost almost 20 lbs. in less than 3 weeks. This is not water weight either! I have cut out all sugar, salt, dairy, wheat, cocoa, and caffeine out of my diet.
