My bowel movements for the past month or so have varied from a very dark brown to light brown (beige-ish) to orange, from watery to foamy to constipated. I've also noticed black specks in the stools.
And, after I eat, I get REALLY bad heartburn. I've had heartburn problems in the past, but usually only after eating certain foods. Now, no matter what I eat, I get heartburn...and it's VERY painful.
I have been having loose stools for a few months. it is sometimes green and it has a very foul odor. I GO every morning same time and i do not ever go more than once a day. I also have bad breath. I take Prevacid once a day for three years. I also take Lexapro. Even with prevacid, i still get heartburn some. I am a smoker and smoke about a pack a day. Can someone ease my mind a little about the stool thing? Or tell me some info?
Green stool is sometimes caused because your passing the stool too quickly and its not getting enough time to change color(To the normal brown) spasms will cause stool to move quicker than normal and to come out green. You can have stool move really fast and not be diarrhea.
What you have is very common with IBS-A or also known as spastic colon. An ultrasound will detect if you have any blocked ducts that are creating the green stool, but I bet that will come back negative.
Hello , after 96 weeks of treatment, 84 weeks on double and 12 more of TX , I was clear of virus! but 5 months after finishing treatment my stool is yellow,sometimes green. I am waiting for blood work results I just had done and I am wondering could there be something goin on? Has anyone else experienced this? I hope the monster doesn't pop his head back up or should a I be concerned about Pancreas?

I have been experiencing dark green stool for 10 days now. After 7 days, I got sick (diarrhea and couldn't hold anything down). I was told to drink plenty of fluids and drink Gatorade for the electrolytes. After doing so, when I went to use the bathroom, my stool was brown. For the rest of that day, I was slowly eating to regain strength. I felt much better but was not drinking as much. The next morning, when I went again, it was back dark green again and every since.

This is a sign of giardia, which you can pick up from your dog, cat, handling shoes that were in a watery area outside, just about anywhere. If this persists, and/or if the stool is green and floats, you will need to see a doctor for a diagnosis and a pill that will knock it out. If you don't take care of it, then you and your animal (presuming that you have one) are reinfecting each other, your animal should also be checked by a vet. Watch for diarrhia in your pet.
I am 33 weeks and around the same time I had green stool. It's actually perfectly normal and means you must be eating more iron or salad or greens. Usually green stool is a good sign. But you can check with you doctor if you're concerned. I had it though and it went away about a week later.
My son, age 22 months, has been having episodes of green stool for the past month, on and off. the more you have in you, the more your body can push out whatever its not liking. the most common causes of green stool are food coloring and excess fiber, but it does depend on what kind of green youre talking about. if its very slimy and not like normal diarrhea, its most likey bile, stomach acids, etc. if its an acceptable consistency, looks like youd expect it to, and just tinted, its most likely fiber or food colorings.
Hello I am a 55 year old lady i have hep-c went through the full treatment , it didnt work as well as they wanted , and i lost my hair and alot of weight not able to eat or drink but i finished in May but my stomach alway hurts and my stool has been green for about 6 days now i have fever at night and am getting blister on my lips. what can i do .
I would say you need to go see a Gastroenteorologist if your problems have continued from more then a week. If they have subsided i would still keep a eye on it. Colored stool isn't always a sign of problems, it really is based on your diet and what you eat. But if there is pain and consistentsy with itr then you should definitley consult a doctor.
Thx for the response. I called today. They said since I haven't eaten anything different it's bile and to give it over the weekend and if not corrected to call back. Now I'm researching and wondering about the too much bile issue. . .

Why is my stool green? I will be 50 years old shortly. I am on no medications and have no health problems that I am aware of. Periodically, (like once last year & then a couple of times this month) my stool is grass green, usual normal consistency, & stays that way for a few days. What would cause this?
Second we usually think of healthy stool being brown but stool is actually green before its brown due to bile being in the small intestine and as the green stool passes thru the large intestine over time it turns Brown. So If your stool was green ir could mean that it just passed thru the intestine too quickly for it to turn Brown. Its happend to me many many times. Hope that answers your question!
Its the purple chips I tell u, I ate like a pound of purple chips at moe's and had green stool for about a week, ya a hole week of green stools, with mild cramping. They should put a warning sign upin front saying "PURPLE CHIPS WILL GIVE YOU GREEN POOP"
