I burp constantly through the night, sometimes to the point of waking myself up. Occasionally I belch during the day, but I don't have any heartburn day or night. It's driving me crazy and destroying my sleep. It's the worst when I'm laying down.
About six months ago I started experiencing severe bouts of nausea throughout the day that would be present regardless of whether I ate or fasted. At times, the nausea was so bad I couldn't sleep or function properly causing me to miss work, etc. I deciced to see a GI specialist and he ordered upper endoscopy with biopsy. The results were negative for biopsy and he only saw a mild inflammation around esophagus.
I am a non smoker, not overweight, not diabetic and have no chronic history of heartburn, but in the past, I have been unable to take large doses (800mg) of ibuprofen without having strong reflux problems at night time. Other than that, reflux was infrequent and sporadic. However, I do like my coffee as well as my spicy and fatty foods.
About four weeks ago, I started having mild heartburn symptoms at night, that were generally relieved by Zantac.
This is not a question so much as info to be added to the ongoing discussion. I too have experienced hives followed by painful daily/nightly bouts of acid reflux and belching. I've lost 8 pounds in a week due to nausea. I was tested for H. pylori(negative), lipase and cbc both normal. As a precaustion my doctor gave me a 10 day round of meds for systemic yeast. I also had a cat scan and that was normal.
I have had chronic belching and pressure on my throat but no indegestion or acid reflex. The pressure comes and goes and belching seems to relieve the pressure a little. I have had this for 2 months now. I have taken Prilosec and Pecid Complete and even Benedryl thinking it might be an allergic reaction, but nothing helps. Please can you give me something to go on.
For the past several days I have had to urinate often, felt a strange airy/burning sensation in my chest, heartburn, belching, and frequent gas pains and bubbly feeling in my abdomen. Also, it seems at night that I wake up suddenly with a jerk and/or gasping for air. Today I developed a shooting pain in the front of my neck and a shooting pain in my right lower pelvic area. I have a history of asthma, axiety attacks, and GERD. Could it just be this or does it sound more serious?
m now experiencing my heart skipping beats during my belching bouts, and when I go out and drink alcohol. I cant even lead a normal life and drink occasionally because my heart starts skipping as the bloating occurs. So its definatley is my stomach producing the air that I think from reading on hear is putting pressure on my vagus nerve causing the pvc's. When I relax and lay down they go away, its when my stomach gets irritated and the bloating starts, the pvc's start.
U have abdominal pain left side and belching like mad little heartburn but it comes and goes. I was just wondering if anyone else has abdominal pain and was prescribed that ?? Also lower back pain like its tightening.
Ohh and opinions please on when to take this omeprazole, people say go against night time and have it in the morning.
I thought the pain was caused by the inflammation of the esophagus, but after 6 month with increasing heartburn problems I took PPI for one month and the heartburn problem was completely gone. What was left was the constant pain in the right upper quadrant. Ultrasound, gastroscopy, coloscopy, bloodwork and an MRI showed nothing abnormal, expect a folded gallbladder but with no sign of inflammation or something. Im quite sure that the gallladder is the location of the pain.
I drink every other day (vodka) have been for the last 6 months. I've always had heartburn and am constantly eating tums or taking Prilosec. This past week I've been vomiting everyday after drinking and have been vomiting acid. Last night was the worst. I woke up st 4am violently vomiting acid my throat and nose still hurts today. I did vomit what looked like blood, it also burned very basket when it came up.. also went through my nose. I took zofran an anti nausea pill to calm it down.
No, acid reflux is the upper digestive tract...its a weak stomach sphinter muscle that doesnt close properly causing heartburn, belching, indigestion etc.
Diarrhea is caused by conditions of the lower digestive tract...IBS is an example...that can cause diarrhea as well as constipation and painful cramps.
Symptoms relieved by belching or taking tums. Is this GERD or something more sinister? My doctor wants to do an abdominal ct scan.

I got this under control with prilosec and took it for about 4-5 months. I tried coming off of it and after a few weeks the heartburn was back with a vengeance and I had a new symptom. Ectopic beats happening a lot, especially at night. I've had the odd ectopic beat over the years but I'd have one then they would dissapear for months. Now it was one all the time every night and the only thing that gave relief was burping.
Have been belching for some time now. I am not on any medications. Belching is a mix between hiccups and belching. All my blood-work (LFTs, CBC/RBC/WBC) comes back normal, except for slightly low platelets. I have petechiae (ie little burst capillaries) all over my chest and back - and getting new ones every couple days. I would think this was just because of low platelets, but this is a recent onset and I've had low blood platelets for as long as I can remember.
Hello, I'm new to this site. I was recently diagnosed with GERD, and prescribed to nexium. Today is the 2 week mark of taking nexium. The only symptom I seem to get is really bad belching and it feels like there is a lump in my throat, those were the same symptoms I had when I was diagnosed. I had the same symptom for about a month before i went in. Maybe once or twice did I get heartburn or get an acidic taste in my mouth.
Heartburn, back pain, lightheaded and neausea, I also had lots of belching but I do that to try and stop the neausea. I took my blood pressure and it was 146/91 and BPM was 86, my normal is about 110/66 and BPM is about 65 to 70. I had Reflux surgery 15 years ago and have not had heartburn since, until last night. Symptoms have gone away since the middle of the night. History of my family.
He prescribed me Eldicet, Providac, Torbulk Powder and Veloz D for 2 months and told me stop eating Wheat and suggested to take more Yogurt and Butter Milk. However, all in vain.
I stop all the medicines since I was taking too much medicines since a year. Now I have started talking Levipride (Levosulpride) 25mg three times a day with Esoz 20 before meal after surfing a lot internet. By sonography, Dr came to know that I'm having nonalcohlic fatty liver and asked me to reduce my weight.
