Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar m tn I make roughly 70k. So I hope I get the right health insurance that meets what I am looking for and that matches my income. Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn PLAN PROVIDERS The Anthem Blue Cross EPO Plan for AIM offers an extensive, statewide network of physicians, hospitals and other health care professionals from which you can select for your care. You must use a provider participating in the Anthem Blue Cross EPO Plan network or you will not be eligible for benefits, except in an emergency.
Avatar m tn Another risk to consider is not having health insurance if you become ill in these last 7 weeks of treatment or if you need hospitalization or a transfusion. Hopefully that wouldn't happen, but that could be financially devastating as well. Is it possible for you to take out some type of individual health insurance, say through Blue Cross or Premera or something? I don't know if that would be less costly than COBRA? Would you be eligible for Medicaid or SSD?
Avatar f tn now all health plan has standardized coverage - so the same deductibles and co-pays. all health plans cover prenatal care. you have to look if it is a PPO, HMO or EPO PPO you do not need to see a primary care doctor before seeing a specialist - but you are charged extra if you see a doctor out if the network.
Avatar f tn Like someone else said , the ONLY way to know how your insurance works and what is covered is to call your insurance and ask about your specific policy. I worked for a major health insurance company for years and the biggest mistake you can make is not calling them in advance. I also recommend finding out what options you have for permanent coverage for your baby.
Avatar f tn Call your health plan provider. It's different with each state, I believe.
Avatar n tn Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance.
Avatar f tn What health insurance coverage/plan do you have? How much do you pay deductible and premium? Im so confuse about that. I'm 35 and planning family soon, but I'm so confused about this. thank ;you Just trying to get an idea.
387294 tn?1207620185 My son and daughter may be looking for health insurance after they leave college and are no longer dependents. My daughter has been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic heart valve. She has a healthy heart and it is working well. With this impact her chances to get health insurance on her own? Will it impact our ability to continue her insurance after the cobra period is over on our insurance?
Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with a health insurance question? About a year ago Anthem Covered two separate visits to the doctors office that I had gone to. So initially they paid and I thought I was all set. Now, almost a year later, they retracted payment due to my coverage ending within days of the visits. I understand if I wasn't covered, but I am wondering how they can pay for it and then decide they were wrong and bill me a year later?

Avatar f tn Hi Frrecks, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about the insurance, since we still have private insurance. It has to be so difficult to set aside the financial worries and concentrate on feeling better. I do know a lot of the DMD companies have programs to assist anyone without insurance. As for my private insurance cost, my employer just finished the open enrollment for next year and here is what I will be paying for my health insurance - $238.00 a month for me and my spouse.
Avatar n tn What are the best health insurance sites/companies/agents? When you search health insurance you get ehealthinsurance.com, and healthinsurance.org, and http://www.HealthPlanOne.com as the top 3 but I want to know if you have found better ones than these ones.
Avatar n tn Alright, so I'm on my dad's health insurance through his work. It's upmc. Well, my boyfriend & I are getting our own place & my dad told me I can't change my address & stay on his health insurance. How true is this? Because I just looked it up & it said that a child under 26 can remain on a parents plan even if they don't live with them. I just want to know for sure because I can't afford it on my own. Especially not with the baby coming.
Avatar f tn If you're in the USA than I believe by law, health insurance must cover pregnancy appointments and delivery. It doesn't matter if your on your parents insurance or not. Now, how much they pay could be iffy so you're best bet is to call or ask your mom to call. One thing to think about, grandchildren cannot be extended on to the grandparents health insurance most of the time.
6927110 tn?1393318669 Hi everyone, Im 18 years old and currently 29 weeks pregnant. Im due in February but am going to be under different medical insurance as of January 12, 2014. Im under my dad's insurance and he had to sign for a different policy the other day(due to his job). Im curious to see if anyone else has been in this situation as well and if they have any advice for a first time mom? I'd also like to add that currently I have Kaiser Permanente and will have HMSA in January.

956931 tn?1271636169 Oh, I did find out a couple of important things today. I cannot take neupogen if my WBC's drop, they will just dose reduce as neupogen is not allowed in this study. Also, if my hemoglobin drops (has to be 8.5 or less) and I get into the Epo arm, they may still dose reduce if it doesn't go up with the Epo. Other way round too, if I am in dose reduce arm, and hemoglobin doesn't come back up from 8.5, they could give me Epo on top of it. And one last thing was the actual Epo shot.
314532 tn?1206415109 Ask your doctor if the Arenesp can be replaced by generic EPO, and Neulasta replaced by Neupogen. You might even call your insurance company yourself and inquire if they will approve EPO and Neupogen over the other two. They all serve the same basic function- by boosting bone marrow production of red and white blood cells. You’re doctor has chosen to prescribe some very pricey recent versions of these meds.
Avatar f tn I was interested in seeing how many of us have health insurance vs no health insurance.
