398059 tn?1447949233 Don't get me wrong, I love my health insurance that I have now. I can get my Rebif for $25 a month, when the insurance company is forced to pay $2300 for it. This is super convenient for me. But I am 25 years old. I want to go back to school and get a Master's or PhD.
Avatar m tn Weve got health insurance. Good health insurance. Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The whole family went to the eye doctor yesterday. All had exams and each exam was $10. Yeah, $10 bucks!!! Pretty awesome.... glasses for the whole outfit excluding me, even with good insurance is going to cost $700. So much for that good insurance. Who knows what it would have cost if I was going to get glasses....
Avatar f tn for me to get a colonscopy and I have insurance. I have no idea where you are or what your health dept is like -- I'm only talking about one place, but I can't imagine that there aren't others like it. I truly sympathize with anyone who needs health care and can't get it, but I also know that there are programs set up to help. I know of one person who found help through a university hospital. No, it's not simple, but I don't think it warrants stealing someone's identity.
Avatar n tn I have a friend who is 3 months pregnant. She has no health insurance and applied for medicaid but was denied because they say she makes $200 too much before taxes per month. She hasn't been able to find any insurance because of it being a pre-existing condition. She spoke with the hospital and they said if everything goes normal she will have to be $8000 for the delivery and all her doctors visits. Does anyone know of any insurance or anything that she could purchase to help with the costs?
536882 tn?1225516459 Hey guys, I know this isn't the proper site for this but the other sites don't have much activity. I am a single mother of 3 teens. 18, 16, and 13. My 18yr old recently became pregnant, not married and last week broke up with her boyfriend. She still lives with me. She has a part time job and is very reliable there. At home, she rarely helps with daily chores, her room is constantly a mess. She uses my bathroom/shower to get ready.
Avatar n tn am new here also, but if your job has health insurance, sometimes they offer life insurance no questions asked. I have a 100K policy.
Avatar n tn and will be there when i give birth. im young, and sometimes i get really scarred. scarred about my furutre. and scarred about my babys future. but im strong and i imagin you are too. and you have to think......how much is a man really worth? (babys daddy or not) i think a baby, i childs life, your child is worth much more than any man is worth.
1565702 tn?1295296430 You need to start thinking about what smoking is actually doing to your body/health. I mean, we know there are no benefits to smoking.... so start there! We do know that there are benefits to quitting. (Having quit myself, I often look at how pitiful people look huddling in small places to sneak a smoke.... just like little crack heads hitting their jones.... pitiful!!!) I can smell stale cigarette smoke a mile away, and honestly....
Avatar f tn All I had to do was prove that my insurance didn't cover and she was able to go to the health department for care and medicade took care of everything else. WTH? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to have supported birth control? No, I made too much money. I couldn't lock her up.........or quit my job. So, do not blame the parents in all cases. I am not defending all situations but I find that when teens have babys they are more likely to grow up and repeat the same mistakes the parents make.
Avatar n tn But my parents are refusing to help and have dropped me from their insurance. I can't get insurance on my own until I'm 18, which isn't until September, but I obviously need to start seeing a doctor before then. Is there any reliable place I can go for prenatal treatment without having to provide insurance??
Avatar f tn I tested at my local health department at 51/2 weeks with the or quick swab and I was negative then I tested several other time with the or quick and it was negative. So like 4 oraquick swabs up until 7 weeks is this to early for oriquick and all negative. Then I went to my local hospital and had a blood test and it was negative as well at 7 weeks.. So 4 oraquick and one blood test all negative..
10078473 tn?1409218786 Most teenagers aren't going to buy condoms even though they should. And now some health insurance policies have taken birth control off. And how does a teenager without a job even afford contraceptives. I put most of the blame on poor parenting.
384896 tn?1335297931 I've been reading post after post after post on here, and on other sites of girls as young as 13, all the way up to 17 TRYING to get pregnant, and I'm REALLY getting TIRED of seeing it. What is WRONG with these girls?! I'm only 18 and I had an accident back in January, and ended up getting pregnant cuzza a faulty condom. I wouldn't suggest to ANYONE getting pregnant till they were ATLEAST 20.
Avatar f tn I'm on about day 5 if my PM filed the claim the next day after my last appointment. So I'm crossing my fingers that my insurance will approve it. Oh I also told her how my insurance ***** and they wont even approve Celebrex for me. She said the reason for that was my age. They hardly ever approve it for someone as young as I am. She said give it 20 years and I would have no problems. haha. Here comes my age again messing everything up!
Avatar m tn 4 months or four years for you probably would make any difference medically. You are so young and I assume in perfect health. You don't mention any problems found during your tests. As far as insurance that could be a different matter. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I am not sure what health care was like before people needed to be covered under a health insurance plan but perhaps in some ways it was better. The health insurance companies donate enough to politician's campaigns that they appear to be the only winners in any situation and determine the quality of a person's care.
1530342 tn?1405020090 html You may have heard about the insurance-premium “sticker shock” that some say is coming in January 2014, when all Americans will be required to carry some sort of health insurance, according to the Affordable Care Act (ACA; aka Obamacare). But some reassuring news came out last week from FamiliesUSA, a health advocacy group, showing that the majority of people who can receive tax credits to help offset the cost of their new premiums under the law are between the ages of 18 to 34.
Avatar m tn There have been lawsuits demanding the right to buy private health insurance. David Sebald, a Toronto-based health care consultant who has lived in the U.S., calls for a co-payment system to "eliminate the hypochondriacs." I guess it is according to which website you pull up and choose to believe. http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAnalysis/Article.aspx?
Avatar f tn , and told me the other day that his employer is going to let the part-time people get health insurance. It will be $85 per week for single coverage. That would leave him with about $100 and he doesn't think he can afford it. I have explained the cost for actually getting sick....he just can't afford it. (breaks my heart). He is adamant (you guys think that I am a liberal - whoah boy!
1118884 tn?1338596450 Know they were displaced and had to hunt, but it was a very hard lesson for us to learn. Thanks for your encouragement. All my concerns about cost, my health, my place (too small for two kits) are vanishing:). I'll keep thinking and praying.
657315 tn?1319494987 Maybe this will clarify things for you. Senate Democrats passed a landmark health care bill in a climactic Christmas Eve vote that could define President Barack Obama's legacy and usher in near-universal medical coverage for the first time in the country's history. "We are now finally poised to deliver on the promise of real, meaningful health insurance reform that will bring additional security and stability to the American people," Mr. Obama said shortly after the Senate acted.
774736 tn?1311334985 Im supposed to see a social worker tomorrow (no health insurance) to get financial help so I can be seen by a physciatrist but until I am in therapy I have no other resources except the support of this website...
1310633 tn?1430227691 NEW YORK (CNNMoney) In his first State of the Union since a major provision of his signature health care reform act took effect, President Obama took time out to praise the achievements of Obamacare. Obamacare got a bad rap after the disastrous launch of the federal and state exchanges in October. But enrollment has since improved, but not quite to the level that the president extolled. Obama said Tuesday that more than 9 million people have signed up for insurance thanks to Obamacare.
Avatar m tn they are increasing day by day. i want to know the cause for floaters at young age. Before i used very high dose of antibiotics for some bloody reason. now i am thinking that this might be the cause for my eye floaters <>. Please tell whether my assumption is right . or is there any other cause ??
306867 tn?1299253309 The lies are just rediculous. It's not Universal health care. It's with private insurance companies. Duh...Congress and the President already have the same health care they are now offering all Americans. The people that spread this crap are either ignorant or just not interested in the truth. READ THE FREGIN BILL ! AT LEAST TRY AND KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT !
Avatar m tn every few months or so. I am just now getting off my familys health insurance and am somewhat clueless as to which plan I should pick. The one i have been susgested is a PPO HSA account. I am not familar with health insurance so I will need this boards help. I was told this HSA was the best option for single young healthy people that dont go to the doctor much, but since I do have a couple precriptions that i need on a monthly basis, which coverage should I choose.
203342 tn?1328740807 I thought I was too young then..lol My mom had me at 18 (single) I look at both of my girls now and hope and pray that they will go to college, live life, etc before they decide to get married and become mothers. I love them both with all my heart and could not imagine being a mom any younger than what I was!!! I watched my sister become a mom at 16. Her son and her basically grew up together..........
Avatar n tn You can also support long term prostate health by using an all-natural prostate supplement (health professionals recommend Prostate Ph) containing botanical extracts like white button mushroom and African plum tree bark. Both of these have shown positive results in medical research with lab mice – they have even shown the ability to shrink prostate tumors. Hope you find an answer to your problem!
230972 tn?1224473726 It just seems backwards that I did everything 'right' that benefits society (went to college for a BA and M, got married, bought a house, pay taxes, work everyday, pay $400/mo. for health insurance...) yet I know when I have a baby nobody will be there to give me a helping hand other than my husband and family...I will have to use my sick-time to get a paycheck and be able to put food in our mouths and diapers on my baby's bottom...
Avatar n tn Anyway, sorry for the long story! Just trying to locate the best possible care and treatment for a young man who is a single father and has much to live for. Thanks for your response so we know how to proceed.
