Avatar n tn Hi, and welcome. Foot pain is NO fun. I have ms and other diseases and one of my newer problems is foot drop. It's been coming and getting worse over time, but is now so bad it has to be braced. My Achilles tendon is shortened due to a weak muscle in my leg preventing me from being able to lift my foot. Anyway, being in the "terminator boot" would cause severe stiffness and immobility for long enough that you may suffer from Achilles tendon shortening too.

Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 15 years old and I've been having foot pain on the middle top part of my foot for about 2 years now. The foot pain is only present with strenuous exercise, especially after a long period of rest. When there is pain, some burning feeling is also present. I think that this pain started when I either dropped some textbooks on my foot or when I jumped down on it too hard. There is no swelling or redness.
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced top of foot pain or achilles pain associated with MS? And has anyone had the shocks in your tongue?

Avatar f tn Now, it could just be bruised badly, and ice may help with any swelling and ibuprofen for pain and swelling. But if the pain does not get better within a couple of days, I would get to your doctor and especially if you have any swelling around your ankles or on the foot. Good luck!

I have tried taping it, as you would for a bruised heel; i have tried ice, heat, hot baths, etc but the pain is still there.... Any suggestions on what this could be and how to treat would be WONDERFUL!!!!
Avatar f tn I was unable to put any weight on my foot for aprox. two weeks. Never a lot of pain, just extremely weak and low pain. Thought that it would never heal, but feel that it is finally getting better. NOW charlie horse pain in my left calf developed last night. Does not come and go. Again, not that painful, but definitely noticed. I keep kneading it and feel a little know in the tendon.
Avatar f tn A ligament or a tendon injury could also be causing pain. Since you are still having pain and a swelling, it would be good if you could consult an orthopedic specialist. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn In my left foot, my Achilles tendon has pain. Its not swollen, I dont think, but its painful. For instance I cannot touch my toes without feeling pain shoot up my leg from my tendon, thats even with stretching, and I cannot bend my foot forward completely and my ankle seems to crack a lot. I have tried creams and messaging and stretching but nothing helps. I don't wear high heels very much, I wear flat shoes. I go to gym twice a week sometimes more and I swim twice or more a week.
Avatar m tn I have occasional pain in my left foot just in front of my ankle bone. When it starts to hurt (which is about every couple of weeks) I get a knot there about the size of a quarter. The pain is so bad it keeps me awake at night. I can't bare my weight on that foot. What could this be??
Avatar n tn I injured a tendon in my right foot several times. Recently, 5 months, I have had severe pain, could not walk on it. I used an ankle brace, heat, ice and rested it but it has not resolved itself completely. Is there anything left to do?
Avatar f tn I love to play soccer, and when I play, I get pretty tough. I have really bad ankles, and about 3 days ago, my foot started hurting really bad, then it would go away and come back. I've done some research and I think I've ripped my Achilles Tendon, my sister [in medical field] believes I did, but my parents don't believe me. It hurts from right about my toes, to about 3 inches past my foot. I don't know what to do, I've tried to keep it elevated and stay off it.

Avatar n tn The pain is a hot pain that goes from the side of my heel up about 3 inches toward my achilies tendon.
Avatar f tn Plantar Faciitous is most likely what your foot pain is. Or 'fallen arches' - 'flat feet'. A doctor should know all these. A physical massage therapist certainly will know. Plantar Faciitous is an inflamed tendon that attaches to your heel and the underside of the toes. You feel the pain most in the mornings first steps out of bed. Familiar? Hypothyroid can aggravate this more. I had a lot of muscle / joint / tendon pain on Levothyroxine or Synthroid (T4 meds).
Avatar n tn Last week heard pop in back of ankle, ankle gave out a little and could bear weight on it. This week outer ankle is swollen with pain in outer heel what could this be?
Avatar f tn I have a archilles tendon tear, and a post tibial tear, this pushed my left foot heel outward, which colapsed my arch and my foot. I am to have three incisions to repair this situation. I was not given any more information such as the name of the proceedures. I also was not actually shown my MRI. I was not given much information at all. Can anyone help me figure out what will be done for me? I had spinal fusion just 22 months ago and knew exactly what would happen to me.
Avatar n tn I am having a pain on the bottom outside edge of my foot. It feels like a bruise but has been there for a while. I am a runner and assume this is a training injury. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I lift weights for about 90 minutes 3 days per week, and I have a large flower garden that I care for continually. Earlier this spring, I started having pain on my morning walks in my right foot in the arch area. I cut back and finally stopped my walking, as any extended walking cause residual pain. One morning, after my wife had returned from the hospital with lung cancer surgery, I awakened around 5:00 AM, stretched and felt a sudden and painful pop on the top of my foot near the ankle.
Avatar f tn He has gone through months of physical therapy and still has pain and difficulty with that ankle. Now his left foot seems to be showing the extra stress. He has pain on and off in that foot/ankle and the little toe seems to be turning outward. He has to go for a functional capacity test next week (work injury-workers comp). Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I have an intense pain on the ball of one foot. It also happened about 6 years ago and I went to a podiatrist who recommended an orthodic insert and I also did stretches for the achilles tendon. It helped. The pain is back and none of the two remedies are helping now. What should I do? It hurts all the time. I do quite a bit of walking at my job.
Avatar m tn I have now been doing therapy for about 4 weeks and I am still having a lot of pain in the front of my ankle towards the outside of my foot and along the bottom of my foot right below the 5th meditarsal. Should I be concerned or is this just part of the healing?
