Avatar m tn I cannot seem to kick the Daytime sleepiness. I am taking 40 mg, fluoxetine, 150 bupropion. When I was on the bupropion with lamictal it seemed like I had less of this sleepiness. Is there a possibility that lamictal may help? Anyone with experience on this? Should I up the fluoxetine, up the bupropion, switch bupropion for lamictal , add lamictal, up bupropion? Thoughts?
Avatar f tn , and she took me off Zoloft immediately and put me on Fluoxetine 20 mg. X 1 week and then bumped me to 40 mg. I experiended severe nausea and no appetite. 6 weeks later, I still have nausea from the Fluoxetine. Panic attacks are a little better but I am beginning to think I should have stayed on Zoloft because I can't recall feeling this bad. I am now seeing a psychiatrist and they have taken me down to 30 mg. of Fluoxetine in hopes of helping my nausea.
527657 tn?1214051850 Fluoxetine is generic Prozac. I've been on it a few times, and I'm back on it again. It will take 4-6 weeks before you begin to feel a difference (sometimes sooner). But it will happen. The only side effect I've ever had from it was insomnia, but that always goes away in a few weeks, so give it some time. As far as alcohol goes, you don't say how much you drank, but I have had a couple of beers now and then on fluoxetine without any problems.
Avatar f tn A study done in 2009 by the Department of Behavioral Science at Eastern Virginia Medical School concluded that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, are one type of prescription medication effective for this disorder. Some common SSRIs include fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine and sertraline. The study listed other pharmacologic treatments for skin picking, such as inositol, clomipramine, doxepin, inositol, lamotrigine, olanzapine, naltrexone and riluzole.
Avatar m tn Now I started to took medicine continuously. Doctor has given me fluoxetine 80 Mg per day morning (4-X-X),Clomipramine 50mg (X-X-2) Respiredone 1 mg at night . I can feel i am less depressed than before but the main problem is I have extreme fatigue , I felt it very difficult to travel highty places got extremelly tired.I told this to doctor but he is not reducing medicine.I am having difficult on my daily life with this extreme fatigue .
543959 tn?1301315419 we just started the lexapro slowly as i slowly decreased the fluoxetine. fluoxetine stays in your body for several weeks, so withdrawal effects are less likely (and/or less severe) than with other SSRIs. i would speak to your dr. about a slow transition from one med to the other... or give the buspirone a try. buspirone is supposed to be similar to valium in terms of it's anti-anxiety properties. so if you are having trouble with anxiety or panic, this might be a good combination for you.
Avatar f tn i am taking 80 mg fluoxetine plus 45 - 60 mg buspirone and i was wondering if there is reason for concern about serotonin syndrome with such a cocktail at those dosages. if it's a bad idea to be taking so much of the both of them, it's not necessarily a big deal for me to d/c them as i still lay in bed all day! -- but what's next? thanks...
Avatar f tn I have been on40Mg of fluoxetine for several years . My doctor started me on 30 Mg of cymbalta which has progressed to 60 mg per day. I think it has helped but am experiencing some dizziness. Is it a drug interaction?
Avatar f tn d like to make the switch from this effete, ersatz, generic fluoxetine 80 mg/day to Vivactil (brand only, not the generic protriptyline), because the change can take place almost as once -- no washout periods to disable my functioning completely that I have read about, yet. I was just wondering if anyone felt like posting how they extol the virtues of Vivactil -- good experiences, troubles, complications, or even people who hated it!
Avatar f tn My Fluoxetine was increased from 40 mg to 60 mg two weeks ago because I was still have panic attacks and a nervous feeling in my stomach. So now I have been taking Fluoxetine for 8 weeks total. Since the increased dose I have noticed for the past four days that I get a shivering feeling inside. I know that sounds weird, but that's the best way I can describe it. My doctor said two weeks ago if this 60 mg increased dose didn't work for me then she was going to switch me to Celexa.
Avatar n tn Another way to avoid withdrawal is to take fluoxetine (Prozac) for a few weeks after stopping Lexapro (or any other SSRI), then simply stopping the fluoxetine. The very long half-life of fluoxetine causes it to leave the body over a period of months, tapering so slowly that the person doesn't have any withdrawal. My recommendation at this point would be to go back on a low dose of Lexapro--maybe half of what you used to take.
Avatar m tn I am taking fluoxetine 40 mg and Bupropion 300 extended release. I started a new job about a month ago and have been going full steam ahead. I have had 4 days off and have woke up anxious the last three of them as well as feeling a little depressed. Doc seems to think I was keeping my mind very busy and now I have time to think I am crashing. Anyway it got me thinking about my meds. The Fluoxetine has put about 5 kilos on me.I really don't like this.
Avatar f tn I can usually go untill around 2 or 3 before I start feeling jittery and have to take another Klonopin. I started on the Fluoxetine at 40 mg and I just went to the doctor today and she increased it to 60 mg. Does this medication really work for panic attacks and anxiety? I'm so afraid it won't work, and I just don't feel like myself. Sometimes I cry which does relieve the anixety, but is it normal to be so tearful?
1063764 tn?1272821064 Hi, I've been on levothyroxine since July, the smallest dosage. I'm also taking 20 mg of fluoxetine. The past few years I've been very tired (which I contribute somewhat to the fluoxetine and is normal), and my memory seems to be declining (way before I started taking the fluoxetine). I am only 22 years old, so I'm HOPING it is due to the hypothyroidism. My question is if this is a possibility or not? I have trouble concentrating, but I'm pretty sure it's not ADD or ADHD.
Avatar m tn Hello, I ve been on 20mg fluoxetine since a year now, and a week now my doc increased my meds from 20mg to 40 mg, so basically it's been 5 days Im on 40 mgs fluoxetine. Now the holidays are here and it is a period of drinking, I really dont know what to do because I like to drink when Im out with Friends, so what should I do? I forgot to ask my Doctor and now he is on holiday, I need to know what to do.
Avatar m tn does anyone know if 3 or 4 grams of Fish Oil per day plus 50 mg of Toprol would cause my heart rate to bottom out even more? I think I read somewhere where fish oil can enhance the effects of toprol. Lately, I have been having bradycardia issues, specifically in the evening time. My pulse is usually between 48 and 52 beats per minute... which is a bit low for me. I am taking the medicine for hypertension...

Avatar f tn Before getting preg. I was taking 20 mg of fluoxetine once a day. When I first found out I was preg. i stopped. I recently experienced panic attacks and my doctor prescribed the same medication. Is it safe for my unborn child? I am very concerned please advise me!
Avatar f tn I was on fluoxetine for over 6 years without any side effects, then i came off it for 6 months ,I then had to go back on it ,but it started to cause a stuffy blocked nose and ear and head pressure which then resulted in pain in and around the eye ,has anyone heard of this and has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar m tn Fluoxetine 60 mg, Olanzapine 2.5 mg, clonazepam 0.5 mg, Mirtazapine 15 mg. Few months ago a weired thought came into my mind- If their are so many stimuli present at a time how does one's mind pay attention to a selective stimulus. Then onwards i would become conscious of many distracting stimuli while i would listen to something or read something. I started feeling like a handicapped which cant listen or read. This very thought suffused my mind; day and night i would think about it.
Avatar m tn Nevertheless, further analysis of blood samples from the study (above) found that elderly depression is characterized by very low levels of omega-3s, in particular EPA, in red blood cell membranes compared to those in healthy individuals and that EPA-rich supplementation restored EPA concentrations to normal values.

Avatar f tn I was on 20mg of Fluoxetine but it wasn't making me feel any better so I got put on 50 mg of Sertraline. On the packet it says that I have to increase to taking two tablets after two weeks of taking one. Even though I'm only taking one, I still feel extremely tired and I've begun sleeping much more than I should and it's made me late for college (I'm 17). If this is the case, should I still increase it to two tablets? Thanks!
