m a 28 year old female and I have been having swelling, stiffness and pain of my right index finger knuckle for over 2 years. It started off as a little right itchy bump on my knuckle (it kind of looked like a welt) and it felt like it was on fire. I noticed it would flare up when it would rain and there was high humidity. From there it has progressed to swelling and it is usually stiff. It has been swollen for so long now that it has started to deform my joint.

Has anyone out there ever had one toe to become red and painful for no reason? I was home all day in my house shoes and in the evening, I became aware that something hurt in my left toe area. I slipped my house shoe off and saw that the toe next to my small one was blood red and very painful. I never stumped it or anything. I immediately soaked it in hot epson salts water which made it feel some better, but it is still red. How could this happen?? I would appreciate any input.

Hi there- have had a swollen finger for about four days- no injury. been taking mobic and tylenol arthritis . not much improvement. went to dr. today and he prescribed me prednisione. but my bp was high and that was kind of upsetting. can an arthritic flare, if thats what it is, make your bp jump? thanks.

Is this arthritis or have i just pulled a tendon in this finger? Have not injured it and just woke up with the sore finger. No noticeable redness or anything else. I am 39 and in good health.

Was it a metal hook? You might need a tetnus shot if you can't remember when your last one was. If it doesn't look infected you're probably okay, but 3 weeks is a while for it to still be swollen and tender...you may want to just call your doctor and ask him if he wants you to come in. Better safe than sorry!

I was tod there was no Flexor or tendon damage. I was put on an antibiotic for 10 days. There was no glass left in the finger and the cut area did not get inflamed. It healed rather quickly. The swelling remained. I called the doctor after a week and was told that perhaps it needed more time for the swelling to go down. She said give it another week to 10 days. Two weeks later, still swollen and difficult to bend. I still had tenderness but not extreme discomfort.

I'm a 26 year old female and a little over two months ago my finger would ache in the morning, fast foreword a week or two and it has been copmpleatly swollen and painful to bend or touch.
