Fainting low bp

Common Questions and Answers about Fainting low bp

fainting

Avatar m tn That time I checked my bp and it was 40/59 which was too low. I continuously checked my BP which got increased to 70/110 later. My blood sugar levels were ok and not a diabetic. Also did an ECG next day which the results are still awaiting. After that day I still feel not right; I feel lifeless or lethargic feeling. No chest pain as such. But feel the stomach is bloated. Any advise?
Avatar f tn maybe low bp..
Avatar f tn I fainted though I was taking IV . It is not that usual for me. But once or twice a year I get low BP it starts from 90/60 and goes down to 60/30 or similar. I got my blood tested but nothing shows. One year ago I got my heart checked but nothing is wrong with my heart, the doctors say. I am twin and some doctors say its because of that. But is it possible to have heart problems but it doesnt show during the checking?! I am a little worried. Is there anyway someone could help me?
Avatar m tn Did you actually faint or just feel like you were going to? Could be simple low bp or simple anemia but it does seem a check up is in order. Without other heart symptoms I suspect it is something outside the heart but best to get checked out by a doctor if this continues. And maybe also post your question in the diagnosed symptoms section to see what others have to offer for fainting spells.
Avatar n tn I believe there was a study done that women who are small and thin and have naturally low BP are the people who tend to live the longest. As macfan says, if you have no symptoms then you probably have no need to worry. However, fainting can be a big problem if it results in falling, especially for elderly. Fainting would also mean a lack of blood, and other organs such as liver or kidneys might be getting damaged over time from lack of enough blood.
1806721 tn?1554333407 I basically could not sit or move at all and felt like fainting even when lying down. My BP was 120/70 when normal, but it was like 85/40ish yesterday. No fever or bleeding or anything like that. Today, I finally start to feel better and my BP is backed up to 100/60. I have never had anything like this happen to me in the past. What could this be? Do I need to worry about it (seems I'm ok now)?
Avatar f tn I found that the worst of the fainting passed with the first tri, im 17 w, but my bp is still v low, 90/50. Lots of salt in ur meals, feel free to eat a bit of junk if ur out to perk u up b4 u feel shoddy. Oh and get up slow, if ur not sure, walk next to the wall of the room if possible.
666921 tn?1254990618 Blood pressure can, from what I read, be affected by Lyme through several pathways. If you already have relatively low BP (as I do) then any further drop can hit hard. Several years ago, when concern about too much salt and high blood pressure was all over the news, I cut way back on my salt intake, but now it turns out (from what I read) that only a very small percentage of people are affected badly by salt.
Avatar n tn 1. Sitting: High blood pressure is 103 and the low one is 55. Heart rate is 66 2. Standing: High blood pressure is 112 and the low one is 73.
Avatar f tn Fainted earlier and just feel really awful now - dizzy and nausea. Wasn't hot, dehydrated, low sugar ornlow bp. My dr already knows I'm not well and said there's not a lot else he can do. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn make sure you're drinking enough water which could be an easy fix for hypotension (low bp)...normally it's caused by a mixed signal between the brain and the ANS (autonomic nervous system) but if it continues ask a dr to do some blood work just to make sure - there are numerous reasons for low bp but most are harmless...
Avatar n tn A lot depends on your age and other health issues, but the minimum that is acceptable is 80/50. If you're young and very active then your BP should be on the low side and that's a good thing. Since your systolic is lower than the standard norm for hypotension, I would discuss this with your doctor. Blood pressure that is too low carries it's own health risks just like high blood pressure.
1265236 tn?1270066926 I am moving your post to the heart rhythm forum: Please move http://www.medhelp.org/private_messages/show/812470?
Avatar f tn However, feeling faint,, is an indication your BP might be too low. On the other hand it could just be postural hypotension. Any new drug or dosage change? Whether or not it is dangerously low is for your doc to determine. I would be concerned if you began to faint. Feeling "run-down" could be anything and speculating would be inappropriate. For myself, when ever I really feel concerned about a health issue I call or schedule a visit with my doctor.
Avatar f tn Its quite common for this to happen during pregnancy. Its happened to me all 3 of mine. After you faint the first time you're bp is still low so if you stand up quickly or too fast it bottoms out again.. nothing to worry about. Next time you feel like you might faint lay down and put you're legs up or sit with you're head in between you're legs.
1534233 tn?1523388856 I am not sure about the hot bath thing, but my bp is always low--90-95 is my average. Occcasionaly it is 87. Some people have low bp. What matters is if you are fainting or dizzy when it comes to low bp. Maybe someone else will have an idea of your warm bath issues. (what is your heart rate after?
1806721 tn?1554333407 I basically could not sit or move at all and felt like fainting even when lying down.  My BP was 120/70 and HR in 60s when normal, but my BP was like 85/40ish with 89/min pulse yesterday.  No fever or bleeding or anything like that.  Today, I finally start to feel better and my BP is backed up to 100/60.   I have never had anything like this happen to me in the past.  What could this be?  Do I need to worry about it (seems I'm ok now)?
4545793 tn?1394592544 I'm 16 weeks and last week i fainted but, did not loose total consciousness. I do pass out quite often even before pregnancy. Low blood pressure is my cause. I've read low BP low blood sugar and dehydration all can make you pass out. If you start to feel light headed dizzy or even flushed/hot all of a sudden do your self a favor and lay down on the floor or wherever you are. Don't just sit lay all the way down your blood will even back out quickly and you should be fine!
Avatar m tn If your father is complaining about dizziness or fainting like feeling, the low bp has to be treated. Watch for a BP less than 90 systolic. If that happen he requires medical attention.
12182312 tn?1427683956 Hello, I'm not a medical professional. I just posted my own questions yesterday. I can say from all that I've learned about blood pressure about the past year though that 112 / 70 is not too low and some might even say it's ideal to have those numbers. You can always ask your doctor for more information but as I understand, unless your numbers go below 80 / 50 or you're fainting your blood pressure is not too low. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I was told by my doctor that BP that is low like yours is only really dangerous to the individual if it has suddenly dropped that low. What was it before hand? Mine recently has also dropped from about 110/70 to 90/60, but I used to smoke a lot before I got pregnant. I do have dizzy spells so I take sodium whenever I feel dizzy.
Avatar n tn I think dizziness is mostly a result of low blood pressure, or inner ear problems. Simply standing up too fast does not cause fainting normally.
Avatar n tn Ultimately, we did not take that route because my BP is typically around 102/52 and I was concerned about fainting. Now my cardiologist says I need surgery to correct the valve within a year. Would it be wise to go on BP medication in the meantime? Would it be safe with a baseline BP of 102/52?
Avatar n tn sir over the last three months ive had episodes of high diastolic pressure ( upto110) followed by very low overall bp as low as 89 over57 all within minutes .palpitations and headaches usally accompany these episodes.. my normal bp averages 127/63 would you be able to offer some suggestions as to possible causes of this...
1384238 tn?1286028762 Treated with 3 different meds (HCTZ, Avapro and Atenolol), suddenly, approximately 4 weeks ago I began getting dizzy spells quite frequently. My pressure during these spells is quite low, often 90/60 or a bit lower. The doc has done CT scan, no brain tumor, blood work, nothing remarkable, urinalysis, nada, she keeps throwing things like Lupus, Parkinson's, ALS at me and now I am terrified! Wouldn't the blood work eliminate some if not all of these diseases.
Avatar m tn His blood pressure is well controlled now that he is on the pill, but there have been 3 times when his blood pressure drops way too low and he feels like fainting. Is that normal? How long does it usually take to get used to the drug?
Avatar f tn God knows how I am going to manage my bp. My doc says its okay to have low bp rather than having high bp. HBF dear u make sure u sould never b left alone at home or outside as ur in 36th week, it could be very risky for u. Take care n pray for me as well.
4626633 tn?1382597122 Fainting is NOT normal for w/d's! Do you have Low BP normally?? Are you taking Clonidine?? You need to get checked by a Dr. If this is something that has never happened to you before!
