Eating fentanyl gel

Common Questions and Answers about Eating fentanyl gel

I am wondering if anyone on high doses of fentanyl 175mcg for extreme pain has died going cold turkey and this doesn't mean the side effects which are like death so i have read. Or has anyone who used fentanyl for extreme pain committed suicide due to the withdrawal.
Feeling weird weird on these and thinking it's just the start up feelings from the Fentanyl. I'm also on on Celexa and that apparently is not a good combo. So i asked the Doc to get off the Fentanyl and he said OK and gave me my normal dose of Vicoprofen. Of course i'm having big time whidrawls from not being on the Fentanyl. So my question is what do i need to overlap 75mcg off fentanyl?. do i need to go to Percocet or something else to not have the whidrawls coming back ?.
heres a outright question for you, no rudeness is intended, are you wearing them, eating them or smoking the gel? There is NO way to wean down and avoid withdraw of some extent besides going to Cali and have $25,000 and go through the 2 week detox that they medicate you through and it's basicially a medically induced coma for 6 days and then the remaining 9 days you stay on the hospital grounds and you are superivised to make sure you don't have any adverse reactions to coming down.
But like 10 days ago I got some fentanyl patches. Not perscribed, but ive been cutting them in fours and eating the gel. Like a patch a day for 10 days. This was before I read all the bad stuff on fentanyl. I agree it was extremely bone headed to do this. And I'm stopping. My question is how bad will the withdrawal be after only taking it for a little more than a week. I took something called kratom to help with the morphine. Will this help with fentanyl? I have 3 patches left.
Trust me there are many people that are addicted to fentanyl. Have you ever eaten the gel out of the patch? I've heard of people doing that. Be strong and believe that you will beat your cancer, there's a lot to be said for a positive attitude!!!
Fentanyl patches can not be cut, especially the gel kind. I quit fentanyl back in January or around that time. Each step down from the 75mcg I went through full withdrawal. I had the choice how I wanted to quit and how long to taper. I tapered from the 75-25 in monthly increments. There's no way I'd be able to do it quicker. I ended up skipping the 12mcg patch and quitting 2 weeks or so after stepping down to the 25mcg patch.
I am on my 13th day from detoxing from 150mcg of fentanyl. i need to know why since the detox, my eyes are burning and watery, very sensitive to any light. ive been trying to make myself deal with it and get used to it....not working. also now i am finally hungry and very thirsty . well i was happy i had a good meal and then felt pain in my stomach like i ate an elephant.
It has been a month today that I have quit the fentanyl patch (50mcg) and I have been prescribed diazipam to help with the anxiety 1/2 tab 3times a day but I only take this as needed when the anxiety gets rough. The sleeping is the worst part. The legs kicking is getting better but sporadic sleeping but at least I am getting a couple of hours now and then. I take vitamins, force myself to eat, take walks when ever possible, baths, and even take Melatonin (over the counter).
It takes a long time for the Fentanyl to leave the system. It has a very long 1/2 life. If you are using the Fentanyl on a regular basis and then stop abruptly only using the Norco, your body is going to react in an unpleasant way. Fentanyl is very strong and Norco cannot replace that. Strange......... Well, I guess I don't have any answers for you at this point.
anyway, I just was switched from 80mg Oxycontin 3x daily, (because it didn't work anymore, provided no more pain relief) and now am taking 50mcg/hr Fentanyl every 72 hours for a week, and if no pain relief, I am to up it to two patches every 72 hours... The problem, I am getting no relief whatsoever, does this mean I am tolerant to narcotics? I am starting to freak out, because why doesn't it work?
I would imagine you'll experience withdrawal symptoms long before you have an appointment. Chewing or eating used patches is not recommended -- who knows what's in there besides Fentanyl, which metabolizes very quickly. There is also the danger of dose dumping -- getting a large bolus of F. from chewing the patch. Wouldn't it be better for you to come clean re: problems with patch falling off?
As far as the Mylan style, the fentanyl is in a solid gel matrix, and the patches are manufactured by simply cutting them out of a sheet, so cutting them further should not be a problem.
You know, I've been on the Fentanyl 100 mcg patch for a week now and I it has controlled the numbness and tingleling on my leg. Oh, and I don't wake up in the middle of the night crying, BUT, I still have a lot of the pinching pain on the buttock and lower back. My doctor does not want to give me anything else so I don't know what to do. Any suggestions...
I have heard about people cutting the patches open and eating the fentanyl. I never abused it. Never got high on it. Now I just want off. With two more tapers and all the wonderful help and understanding of nefresh, I know I can make it. That's a good feeling!!
i have really bad runs even if i eat a bite of food , i dont eat at all my wife trying but i am just not eating i do take all the vitaminss from the thomas recipe but no food the most i ate was today 4 spoons of white rice . my question that bothers me the most , i am urinating like a pragnent woman X 3 if i drink even a little bit half a cup of water i need to go pee after 10-20 min. is that normal during detox ?
I use Fentanyl gel to style my hair like Ace Ventura.
Stop now and find out and try not to do it again. Please God, tell me you are not eating or sucking on those things. It can KILL you........not to be messed with. When I hear Duragesic the hair on my toes stand up........Don't flush the rest of the patches you have.......Burn them!!!! I wouldn't even wish that Stuff on what floats in the sewer.
I am most recently on the fentanyl patch. I had moved overseas and the country did not carry oxycontin, only morphine and fentanyl so i started using fentanyl. I recently came back to the states for vacation and went to one of my old doctors for a refill of my patches, I also went to my old pain doc who gave me a script.
Pancreatitis calls for some strong pain meds. When my dog had it, the vet used a 75 mcg fentanyl patch. This medication is also used for people who have chronic pain. It's simply a gel-filled patch that stays on for 3 days, and dispenses a constant supply of medication during that time. They also used hydromorphone (dilaudid) for breakthrough pain when the patch wasn't enough. These opiate medications are VERY strong, and will have a sedative effect on your dog - just like with people.
Teal's Epson salt, slapping on three lidocaine patches, six Advil with my TENS machine on while laying on a massaging hot pad I'm not sure...... I have already been the physical therapy, surgery, bio-freeze/volteran gel, exercise route, chiropractic, weekly massage, reiki holistic approach and this is NOT quality of life!!!! I am honest with my doctor and feel punished! Not the kicker is I am a high risk for addiction because my mother drank and I smoke (that shows addictive tendencies).
addicts like myself cut them open to get at the fentanyl. cooking and straining can do wonders for gel. hell, here i am talking about shooting again. i've got to go.
This includes drugs such as tramadol (Ultracet and Ultram) codeine (Tylenol #3, #4), Darvocet, Hydrocodone (Vicodin, Norco, Lortab and derivatives), Oxycodone (Endocet, Percocet, Oxycontin), Morphine, Demerol. Fentanyl, and Dilaudud. There are many other opiates not listed, so if you don’t see it listed, you can still use these suggestions if it’s an opiate based addiction. None of these apply to benzodiazepine based addictions. These addictions should never be dealt with by going cold turkey.
I know I have alot of other stuff on my plate as well like splitting up after being married for 10yrs by my choice and working out and eating pain pills was a good distraction at the time!!! I'm working on transitioning to a different life also so I got alot going on but, for now I"m taking 1mg Xanax in the morning before I can attempt to drive anywhere. This does NOT make me drowsy it just makes me relaxed and not so anxious.
The meds you listed contain no tylenol. Another option is the fentanyl patch, which has its own pros and cons, but it might be something to ask your doc about.
one a prescirption gel called Voltaren, which helps a bit, and another that has no name that is compounded at a compounding pharmacy which also helps a little bit. Little bit being the key word. I could probably drop those with no noticeable difference, except for when I have an extreme flare-up (and I pull out everything I have in my arsenal.) I also use lidoderm patches. They don't work so great for my hand but do help the arthritis in the hip. I take Clonidine .1 mg. 2 times a day.
She began exhibiting signs of FOPS (feline orofacial pain syndrome), the most severe of which was her clawing at her mouth--which was triggered by any mouth movement (grooming, yawning, eating). She was started on gabapentin and I was told to give it time. We returned to our regular vet (after just dealing with the surgeon) and I implored the vet to get a good look inside her mouth (as the surgeon really only looked when the cat was hissing).
I cannot remember the last time I felt good or had a good nohts sleep. I do take Fentanyl Patch (50 MG) and hydracodone (10m) for severe back pain. I have heard that these drugs can cause night sweats but cannot find any hard evidence yet. In any case, without the Fentanyl I could not live at all with the back pain. Also, I take zanax, and sometimes Soma, mostly at night as sometimes they do help me to at least fall asleep. My doctor has no options I have not tried.
dilaudid, fentanyl, even demoral could be considered along with zofran for the nausea. It's difficult to get out of the mindset that tells you "Doctor is always right" and never question your treatment. When it comes to pain, you have to tell the docs if the medication isn't working. They can't help you if they don't know about it. My pain doc put me on the fentanyl patch for the chonic pain in between surgeries and admissions.
