On 12/27, I noticed symptoms similar to strep throat- sore throat, feeling tired, enlarged/red tonsils, decreased appetite, but no other symptoms. On 12/28 I examined my throat and saw multiple white spots and streaks on both tonsils. The throat pain was not agonizing, and rather irritating. If strep were an 8-9/10, this was a 4-5/10. I went to an urgent care on 12/23, but didn't disclose the encounter. They did a strep swab, which was negative.
Went to the dr in late November for strep throat and a sinus infection, tested negative for strep but I have cobblestone throat and my left tonsil is inflamed. My doctor said I have some pus behind It & I have a small hole on my tonsil as well. My throat does not hurt and I no longer have any symptoms. I have taken both azthromycin and doxycycline. My throat still looks the same. My doctor has said just to keep an eye on it. Should I just go ahead and go to an ENT?

I am a male and had unprotected oral sex with another male, including kissing. A day later I had sex with my female partner. Ten days later, I had a pharyngitis and discomfort at the tip of my penis with no discharge but tingling and discomfort. In the meatal area there was a clear but not discharging secretions. I self treated with 1 gram of Cipro and 1 gram of Azithromycin, followed by 250mg per day of Azithromycin for 2 days. However, symptoms of pharyngitis & urethritis continued.
About 2 days after oral sex she went to Dr. with a sore throat. I looked at throat and it was 2 red bumps with white center. Dr. said it looked wierd to her and prescribed 10 days of 500 mg of Leviquin. Dr. told her to see an ENT 3 days later. ENT said it was not cancer, could see red bumps but not white spots and likely a common throat infection. He took a swab of her throat. I then went to get tested and came back positive for Gonorrhoeae, negative for Chlamydia.
Thus, what you most likely have is a viral sore throat or at worst, strep throat. If it is strep throat and it could well be you need treatment. Thus I would suggest that if it si not clearly viral and has lasted more than a day or two, you get checked but that you not worry about gonorrhea.

the risk of any std from a one time, mostly protected encounter is rather low. You have been over tested and over treated needlessly at this point but what is done is done.
You can't test for hsv2 until at least 3 months post encounter. Same with hepatitis. syphilis testing has to be done after 6 weeks. No point in being retested for gonorrhea and chlamydia at this point since you tested negative after 5 days and have been treated for both.

Ok so for about 6 weeks now I've been worried that I've gotten herpes from this girl I had unprotected & oral sex with (I'm a male btw & gave her oral for about 10-20 seconds just to get it in). We had sex on September 9th around 10pm-11pm & again early the next day in the a.m.

As far as the concerns go regarding strep throat....Consider your drinking water a source. We were on well water and were informed that the constant strep throat infection my kids had could be coming from the water they were drinking. Strep can be passed through water. Ever since we have been on bottled water we have been in the clear.

It's highly likely you're going to get strep throat. The incubation period for streptococci is 2-5 days so you should be feeling something around now.
Hi, me. Haven't been here in probably a couple of months now. I don't have an official Lyme diagnosis; I've kind of stopped pursuing one (or any kind of diagnosis) for now and am just doing what I can to beef up my savings because recent family issues have made just saving up enough money to move out of this house more important than my health.
