Does pristiq help with anxiety

Common Questions and Answers about Does pristiq help with anxiety

pristiq

also said that the Pristiq has the least amount of sexual side affects than any other anxiety med out there, but that is the ONE thing I'm having the worst side affects with. Is there anyone else who takes this and how do you feel about the med?
Yes, Klonopin would relieve the anxiety that you're feeling but proceed with caution because Klonopin daily with Wellbutrin over long periods, will make the benzo withdrawal much harder / dangerous while on Wellbutrin.
When I first started taking medication for anxiety and depression, I took Effexor. Over aobut 2 months, I gradually felt better. My doctor prescribed Valium along with the Effexor until the med kicked in and we got the dose set. Having both worked very well for me. As the Effexor kicked in we weaned off the Valium. I took Effexor 75 mg for three years with very good results (I promise I will get to Prisiq soon.
i used to sell Effexor XR and my girlfriend sells Pristiq and said it is the same. It is a great drug and will really help with you anxiety!! I wishing you continued success and happiness!!! Feel free to ask any more question/concerns you may have!
Seems like i always end up back on prozac so i am thinking of trying it again. It does great for depression/moods/anxiety i just need something to help motivate me and help keep me out of bed with some energy!!! I know i need to get to dr, but i also know that if i go a week without AD i will really regret it in about 5 days.
In EBM there are not a lot of evidences that supplementing with any of the mentioned above would help with depression. So far so good we don't have an argument here. Depression is far more complicated than a single neurotransmitter called serotonin.
I have been taking pristiq 50 mg since june 08 right after it came out It does great for the depression unless I take any other med such as vitamins which I also need . It has raised my blood pressure and my cholesterol, I have horrible sweating with it now they want me to take coreg, and pravachol. When I was on effexor I had rls so bad I had to take sinemet to relieve the discomfort. Has anyone else noticed that if they take other meds when taking pristiq it doesnt work.
It's most likely not big enough of a medical issue for them to deal with regularly. As someone with anxiety, maybe it's actually a good sign you ran out by accident. I know I sure look into my pill bottles regularly to check the amount left, because I'm afraid of running out. I don't have OCD, but sure as heck check the approximate number of pills left every couple days.
If I could give you one piece of practical advice, I'd suggest that you speak with a mental health professional- someone with experience in dealing with anxiety. Taking a practical approach to medication can help, but speaking to a mental health professional specifically TRAINED to deal with anxiety can really make a difference.
One of the things that was most useful to me was... a job. I know that sounds cliche, but it does help to be with people, and to have something to focus on. Even if it is mowing lawns, or shoveling snow, or 10 hours a week at the mini mart. My daughter got a job at the grocery store, bagging groceries when she was 15. She seemed to enjoy the independence. Then she got a job at Friendly's (ice cream/sandwich shop), and learned how to work. She waitressed her way through nursing school.
I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?
Does prestiq even help with anxiety? Also, all the meds I've been on so far have caused sexual dysfunction. Meds seem to always make me feel worse rather than better. I'm going to be seeing a psychotherapist in a few weeks who will help me with talk therapy. So should I just wait and try the talk therapy while continuing the Seroquel, or should I start Pristiq too? Thanks!
Try other things first, and Jake is absolutely right, magnesium supplementation can help with both anxiety and depression, but then again, it might not if that's not your problem. On the other hand, most Americans are deficient in magnesium because they take too much calcium, which leaches magnesium out of the body. A proper balance is necessary. If you want to try magnesium supplementation, try a 1:1 or 2:1 magnesium to calcium (the usual ration is 2:1 calcium to magnesium).
Im trying to figure out the best time of day to take pristiq....when does everyone take it??? plus what dosage are you on, ive been on 50mg for almost a month and am still feeling sick and tired all the time and not any better...
If you choose to try to get ride of your anxiety without meds it's your choice, with the experience I have with anxiety and the family background of anxiety disorder in my family, I know that I will need at least 1 antidepressant to stop the panic mood and 1 anticonvulsive med like the Topamax to stop the bulemia and prevent the relapse of anxiety!!! Stop the Benzo meds will be the next goal, when my anxiety will be at an ok level!
I just recieved 20mg Celexa yesterday, I am really nervous about taking it because I dont want to have to be on a medication forever for my anxiety. What has anyone done to naturally help with anxiety on top of their medication? And what have been some of your side effects?
It is without a doubt one of THE most difficult things for those of us with anxiety, (especially health anxiety) to accept the medical diagnose that we are 100% healthy. It is NOT one of our strong suits! But that is where talk therapy will really shine. And for the Love of Mike...............STAY OFF THE WEB SITES THAT LIST SYMPTOMS! That is THE worst place for a person with health anxiety to hang out!
Has anyone ever taken Xanax or Pristiq? They switched my Effexor to Pristiq this morning and gav me xanax to help inbetween times. How have these drugs affected anyone who has taken them?
You are not functioning and having increasing problems with the generic. See if they can help. They want customers also. Find a psychologist (less expensive than a psychiatrist) and have him/her confer with your doctor and make a recommendation on the types of medications that are available. They cannot prescribe but are very familiar with them and how they work. They CAN work with your doctor. You.....need to do some research yourself.
Im 17 and was diagnosed with the same things. Dizzyness is a very common side effect along with fatigue so it may take a while for those things to go away, or until your body is used to it. however, if it doesnt go away for a long time...
i am a good father and want to be here for him but that is not enough to make the pain stop. I cant focus on anything other than what i have lost. I need help with this. my wife is on fluoxatine, and seems to be numb to everything a doctor put me on it i was suicidal within 2weeks. I tried it again a few months later same thing. I cant afford to go back to the doctor, i am in college and a custody battle so i cant check myself in somewhere.
Are you in therapy and or taking any medication to help with it? I really recommend starting with therapy if you're not already doing that. It can help so much.
He offered me benzos which I declined--why add rocket fuel to the fire of my addiction? I was on zoloft once and it helped with anxiety and then was on Pristiq which did it one better, helped me sleep but did not make me drowsy during the day. But it is prescribed for depression, not anxiety. Still he gave me a script for it and my insurance said no.... So, just living with the anxiety. I have decided to get a massage tomorrow.
Your skin will crawl, your body will itch and you will feel mad with anxiety. I would sooner shave my head with a cheese grater while chewing on tin foil before doing Xanax withdrawl again. It is absolute murder if your used to taking it at high dosage. I won't act like I don't like it. The buzz I get from 3Mgs of Xanax is like pure cozy bliss. Honestly the best buzz in the world, but it Evil and will bite you in the *** if your not careful. Go for the Klonopin.
Hello everyone! So I have been suffering with panic attacks/anxiety for about 2 years now. I just started taking medication to help me a year ago but have been jumped around on so many different ones I do not know what works anymore. I am also seeing finally a great therapist who is really helping me. But my mom thought it might help me if I joined a community on line to talk about my problems with. At first I felt a little weird about doing this. BUt I figured what do I have to lose.
I've been on provigil for a year and a half now- as needed (my job requires shift work). I also take pristiq for anxiety in which I've had for many years. In the last six months I've been dealing with w lot of troubling events that have taken a toll on me, my emotions, my stress level. In the last month or so I've noticed that I get really bad anxiety/nervousness about ten minutes after taking my provigil. It never used to do that before.
Similar to yourself, I too have anxiety without Depression. I was also given Lorazapam and take it as needed, mostly to sleep though. BUT...I was also prescribed Lexapro, please keep in mind that some of these meds that are for depression are also prescribed to help with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. If you are just a "worrier" by nature, you could very well have GAD. I am on a VERY low does of Lexapro (10mg), and it helps with my daily nervousness.
For people resistant to antidepressants, many have gotten good results with Pristiq. Trileptal can be used to treat anxiety. If you're not seeing a psychiatrist for your meds...I definitely would as they are most knowledagable on the medications and can refer you to the proper therapist which would be very beneficial for you.
Does anyone have anxiety everyda with chest heaviness and shortness of breath? Do you take antidepressants that make you feel normal again? If so which one?
