This started yesterday for me and has not gone away and is driving me CRAZY! I had a optomitrist and Opthymologist appointments this past month for blurryish problems and they both say my vision is GREAT NOTHING WRONG! Nothing wrong? There is I know what I see!!!!!!
Avatar f tn Look up all medications available for deression, on the internet, and read all reviews before asking your doctor to change. Look at all the symptoms, other meds, combination meds and specific comments on side effects to make your decision and discuss it intelligently with your doctor. Good luck.
1442059 tn?1340244552 I did try Cymbalta and it helped with my depression but did nothing for my anxiety so I quit taking it. The above poster is right, this med is stimulating so if you do decide to take it start at the lowest dose possible. You might want to consider taking an antidepressant that helps both anxiety and depression. Keep us up to date and let us know what you decide to do. We're here for you.
Avatar f tn That is how I found out about Pristiq and this site. Read all of the reviews so you know how it works and doesn't, or diagnosis and side effects. If you find one you really think might work, take the information to your doctor and ask him/her to look into it and the possibility of trying the medication. Be clear and concise about the reasons WHY you want to try it; works for anxiety, depression, what you learned about side effects, etc. I AM NOT ADVOCATING SELF MEDICATION.
1438412 tn?1315511519 I have tried many and just asked for Pristiq. Found it on a site listing depression/PTSD medications and it had more reviews than any other drug. I read all 257. I wanted to know what the people were diagnosed for, other drugs taken, combinations, side effects, percentages that worked and not and made this choice to try it. I have a very good doctor and we speak openly. I may be emotional, but go to her and give clear reasons how something affects me in a bad/good way.
Avatar f tn Effexor is also used to treat anxiety, general and social anxiety disorder and panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. Pristiq is only approved for major depression. Both can be very toxic is you drink alcohol with them. Alcohol with either can increase the risk for liver disease. In the third stage of cirrhosis, toxins build up causing mental impairments such as loss of concentration and memory impairments.
Avatar f tn She prescribed Pristiq which messed me up instantly. Most intense anxiety I've ever had- I felt like a crack head plus a whole host of other side effects... pretty much everything I went to get treated for became extremely worse on that med. I lasted 3 days on it. No way I was hanging in for my body to adjust. So I went back and she tried a lexapro. This wasn't as bad as pristiq but still, I couldn't function which with my busy life is completely unacceptable.
Avatar m tn When they scoped my stomach and found nothing wrong, they said it's anxiety. I'm currently on a medication for anxiety but it has not stopped the shortness of breath that comes and goes. I have a lot of responsibility with work and home so I'm sure these are some of the reasons why I'm stressed out or anxious. A freind of mine has had some of these same issues and he said that zanex, probably spelled wrong, has worked for him.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Savella for about 5 weeks and have found a dosage that actually works for me with the least amount of side effects. I also take Pristiq with the Savella....so maybe that's why I'm feeling better? I take 25mg of Savella in the morning and then another 25 mg in the afternoon. (NOT AFTER 3PM, if I want to sleep.) The sweats and hot flashes are horrible, just as others have mentioned, but the energy and lessening of pain is worth it, I think?
Avatar n tn I took effexor xr for 4mo only for anxiety and weaned off. Started at 37.5mg and steadily got to 150mg, the went backwards for 3 weeks with no problems. I actually lost about 16 pounds because it completely took my appetite away. Since then i gained about 10 back and i am only on Xanex. My doctor says it is different for everyone, but effexor xr usually does not cause weight gain, so she says.
Avatar n tn Not that I can give any help or explanation - but I was amazed to read this as I have had EXACTLY this for years - I always called it like a 'shivering' through my Brain..... No explanation forthcoming from Doctors however, I did start taking Meds for General Anxiety and the 'shivering' went away - not had it since UNTIL ... about a week ago, I decide I did not want to keep taking the Anxiety Meds ( I think they may have contributed to my inability to lose weight - or indeed gain weight)...
429155 tn?1205676864 Oxycontin.- While awaiting the scan results I was given oxycontin for pain relief, this seemed to do the trick for 2 weeks, 10mg 2x a day, then things hurt again so up the dose went 20mg 2x a day, then 40mg 2x a day, then 80mg 2x a day and up to 120mg 2x a day, recognise the scenereo anyone??..
Avatar n tn So, I choose to be anxious than fat... what a shame. I guess all meds for anxiety do this. Wish the doctors told us all the truth before we took it. Hope this helps someone before taking this drug!
Avatar n tn Hello, I was diagnosed with Complicated migranes when I was 14; I am now 57..at that time little was known. At least one woman in every generation had CM; mine have been the worst. I was treated with every drug under the sun; mostly just for relief of the pain. And as a teen and young adult my parents took me to every dr and headache clinic possible..One dr even told my parents I suffered from "depression" and a therapist was all I needed..
Avatar n tn I spoke with them a few times and they felt that my sinuses needed to be taken care of and the meds for anxiety- well, I quit them and felt a bit better. Then I was off to ENT. My first thought was- what the heck is going on- I have this bad sinus infection , on meds for that for 20 days- it never goes away- was told to take celexa- (which I took at the same time as the anti-biotic)- and then started having attacks, tingling in my fingers and toes, and then I am being sent to a pyschologists?
Avatar f tn I haven't read that anyone else has experience this fading effect. I take it for anxiety and happened to notice the amazing the weight loss effect. I lost about 8 pounds, but I sort of eat more at times so I don't lose too much and people don't get on my case. I have very thick hair and have not noticed any falling out, but have noticed a change in texture for sure. Maybe not due to the Rx, but with all the hair talk, I'm starting to think it is.
Avatar n tn It may be most noticeable when you're at rest — watching TV or sleeping, for example — and disappear when you're active. Anxiety or stress can make the itchiness worse. Eventually you may scratch simply out of habit. The affected patches of skin often have a leathery or scaly texture. The patches may be raw, red or darker than the rest of your skin. Causes The exact cause of neurodermatitis isn't known.
