Does aldara work

Common Questions and Answers about Does aldara work

aldara

It's hard for me to take time off of work so I went to the Urgent Care instead. When I got there the doctors did routine tests for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea and it turns out that I had Chlamydia. While the doctor was taking the swabs from the inside of my vagina, I mentioned the bumps and asked him to look at them. He said they were nothing and I didn't need to worry about them. He was not a gynecologist, just a general practitioner.
Should I apply it with a finger or would a Q-Tip be better or should it be something else? How exactly does it work? i think i heard it boosts the immune system in the area applied Should I apply Aldara to places where cryotherapy has been done or just new/missed lumps/warts?
I also used Aldara, my friends recommend it and it's work for my warts that on my skin. I got onlu redness, pain and itchess when the warts almost go. For you, did you put it to much? Coz when my friend said should put it not over 3 times a week and don't put it to thick on the warts. now, i got it better just 4 weeks :) you can find more information on www.emedzone.com ( i brought it from them ...
Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
I have only used it for three applications and I have seen zero effects - as if I had never started using it. I have read that Aldara doesn't work for everyone, especially males... but I would like to know if anybody has had any success stories without unpleasent side effects? I'm sure I could just apply it for the next 3 months, but I'd like to have a little bit of hope because right now I'd be happy with pain, redness, and itchiness, so long as the warts were being destroyed.

1. My dermatologist told me to apply the aldara liberally to make sure that even the tiniest warts in the area are treated. I have read elsewhere to only apply to the warts, but i have also read that aldara seems to respect healthy skin and only attacks unhealthy skin. Which is true and should i continue applying the aldara liberally to the entire areas. 2. The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop?
hi when im apllying aldara im seeing some blood on the warts does that mean its working?
1) I've read/heard that Aldara is very potent but does it really work this fast? It's just been 2 days (I apply it every other day-3 times a week-as prescribed). 2) Also I was told not to shave b/c the warts can spread but does that mean in the area where the warts are (near the vaginal opening-no hair there) or in the general vicinity (as in nowhere down there)? 3) I'm supposed to get my period this week. Should I use tampons or pads? 4) Is it okay to wear thongs?
I have a large cluster of them around my anus (very embarassing I know), which are very uncomfortable and make it difficult to go to the bathroom. I was prescribed with Aldara Cream and I just started using it. I'm wondering if anyone else has had experience with this cream and its effectiveness on genital warts.
Also isn't the first breakout painful and severe and with blisters and other symptoms in *most* cases? Given all this, what are the chances this is herpes? Also, does Aldara trigger an outbreak of herpes, if it is herpes? It seems more than a coincidence that it should happen when I was using Aldara. Please let me know. Thanks!

She did use a cream on him that appeared to temporarily work-- imiquimod cream 5% - drug name Aldara. It has 12 single application doses (each the size of a postage stamp). She writes: "Not much in them so it's hard to only use one on an application. It cost $180 more in some other drugstores. I bought two boxes and used for 5 ½ weeks Monday to Friday as the vet said.
Hi im 19yo guy with anal warts tried warticon all august didnt work (no side effects also,no burning nothing) been using aldara for 2 weeks and i feel burning and its red the area is it working? how long does it take?
What can I do to make them go away and to keep them from spreading? What does Aldara do? I can't handle using that, especially on the mucus membranes. I've stopped drinking (wine) and eating sweets in the hopes to build up my immune system. Is that a factor? I was drinking more wine then I normally do because of the new relationship. Could these be inside my vagina too? I don't feel anything itching so I don't think they are. Do Dermatologists treat these?
Does alcohol kill the Molluscum Contagiosum virus? I ended up getting the Molluscum Contagiosum Virus (type 2); I wasn't sexually active for about 6months before got it. After it showed up I went to the doctor to get it removed. The doctor said that I would have to have a follow up treatments, and to come back in a month. The doctor used liquid nitrogen to remove the legions, which is very painful.
3)Is there a good way to tell what is a wart and what isnt, I asked my dematologist three times (bi-weekly check-ups) and he tells me that it doesnt matter the aldara should take care of it (I do not like this answer because aldara does not seem to work that well on men or me for that matter)... Is there any way to really tell which bumps are warts or get a good idea? It is fustrating that every doctor tells me it is not a big deal when HPV is all i think about...
But aldara has worked for me in the past but ever since I've been having outbreaks aldara seem to be no help except for the external warts they seem to work a little with aldara why is that could it be that my immune system is weak or is it the numerous treatments that I have been using like TCA, ALDARA, PODOFILOX,SOLOTION and now I am using CONDYLOX 0.5% GEL will these warts ever cease.
I have hpv,and i had a reoccurence of gw so m doc 0rescribed aldara. ******* hell hole in a packet. after only s couple days of using it, yesterday my vagina lips swoll up along with the middle portion too. i began to walk funny because it would hurt to bump them together. i was at work still and needed to home asap.
and if yes, in your opinion, what are the chances? Since aldara did not work, in your opinion, what is the best treatment option ie laser, surgical removal or any other suggestions? In your opinion, how much does use of condoms reduce the risk of transmission of HPV? Will I continue to develop warts? It was my thought I would have one outbreak and then my body would fight the virus. thanks for your help.
And with this, there is a smaller chance that the warts will come back. But if Aldara does not work with me, I will take your advice and use the method of freezing. Thanks for your help and support!
Some folks will be unlucky enough to get a few recurrences or the aldara won't work for them but in general they go away within a few months. odds are you got this from your finance unless you've recently had another partner. really no worries about transmission if you've been together at least 6 months or more. don't use otc wart removers in the genital area. they can cause scarring.
About 14 months ago, I met another guy and there was an ever-so-brief sexual encounter. Basically, we masturbated in front of each other...not touching each other. At one point however, the guy (to my dismay) reached out and held my erect penis (I can't even say it was a "stroke"...more like a fondle. It was for maybe a minute at the most.) For the life of me I can't remember if he had touched HISMELF yet or not.
I don't think there are any natural treatments which are proven to work scientifically. The best natural way of beating HPV would be the healthy lifestyle option - taking vitamins for the immune system, eating healthy and generally having that kind of life style. The best course of action would be a treatment from your doctor according to the severity and whereabouts of the warts. For example, aldara cream worked wonders for me but it seems for the majority it does little to nothing.
I would ultimately suggest you go to the nearest womans clinic, or if that's not available, see your physician. In the beginning I spent 100's of dollars on the acid burning procedure, and it didn't work. Then the cream was the next best thing, but if tha's not working, maybe freezing it?
Since it seems to result from shaving irritation, is it possible that this re-occurance is not from HPV, but just scar tissue from the previous treatment or some type of reaction? I ask because the Aldara cream does not seem to have any effect on the bumps themselves after 4 weeks of use, beyond irritating & darkening the adjacent skin where the buttocks meet. 2.
My partner does not have any visible warts but we are sure he has HPV because we don't always use condoms. Will continuing sexual activity with him cause my efforts to fight this to be futile?
