My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.

Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.

Most of us are at the mercy of docs and insurance companies when it comes to our treatment. We are often asked to undergo treatment or tests without knowing much about the cost to us. My Tysabri infusions are billed to the insurance company @$6,000 each. I couldn't get an info on MY cost before I started getting them in November. I started them anyway. My out of pocket for the 4 infusions to date is less than $600, my annual out of network deductible.

I have read much about Aldara, as well as used it first hand. I've just read A LOT of information about the "apple cider vinegar method", including doctor's opinions on it and it doesn't seem best for long-term. Dr. HHH in the expert forums has even written some stuff about this treatment. I have no problems with holistic medicine, but don't think we need to neglect western medicine. I could say more, but I won't on this subject.

Eventually I had them checked, they were warts and I had them removed and was put on Aldara. I used what my dermatologist gave me but I had no insurance so I never actually filled the prescription. The warts came back months later. I thought about the laser surgery which would be very expensive but the doctor put me back on the Aldara, which I filled this time, hoping it would take care of the problem.

Without insurance, it can cost $10,000 or more, depending on how much medication you need. Not sure about how much insurance would cover...I think that depends on your insurance policy. Best of luck!

Aldara is about 70% effective. In other words, in one third of patients, warts persist or recur. Be sure you follow the treatment advice exactly. If the warts don't clear up, or if they return again, you should discuss alternative treatments with the dermatologist. Or discuss it with him or her now, since you can't afford Aldara. There are other equally effective treatments that cost much less.

and a heads up at first when i used aldara i had bad side effects such as feeling sick tired, some body aches and severe itching to the point where i said in my mind i have to quit because i got absolutley no sleep on the nights i used aldara. people have said to discontinue aldara but i stayed with it.

Yes the epogen alone - which i was on for 69 weeks, half the time at two doses a week cost at $6000 a box of ten at least $60,000 for just that one med. And that is a lowball estimate. Plus Ambien, Synthroid, Paxill, Fluticozane and whichever I'm forgetting aside from normal daily meds like Advil and Tylenol.

I've been using aldara for about 3-4 months now. It took about 6-7 weeks to start working for me. It cleared up my warts in about 8 weeks but had another outbreak. It has cleared up everything so far. I'm waiting to go on a follow up appt so I guess will find out soon. How long have you been using aldara? My insurance covered it with just my copay at our doctors office. I would call your insurance to see if they cover it or even partly cover it.
