cat-allergies

Avatar f tn Is it possible to develop an allergy to animals later in life? Or do I suddenly have new allergies? Any ideas from anyone? I would love to get this over with! Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn He had to go through catscans and all that stuff and they gave him some pills for it to go away..what kind of medice do u recommend to use or anything please..Thank You..
Avatar f tn He used to suffer when anywhere near cats but for some reason they picked up a stray cat and wouldn’t you know it, ever since then these symptoms started and have been getting worse. My theory is that the constant assault of the cat dander is causing an autoimmune issue which is making his glands swollen which in turn are pushing on the nerves in his should which go into his arms. Is this possible? Is there a way to determine this to be the case short of getting rid of the cat?
Avatar n tn Or does it really take this long to go away? I have never had any issues with allergies. According to my doctor after flipping my eyelids, I'm between "mild/moderate" case. thanks!
Avatar f tn How do y'all deal with cat allergies?!?!? I've just recently become super allergic to my best friends cat's and I wanna be able to go see her without her cats killing me!!! (or me wanting to kill myself for that matter!) It's really bad, and my eyes, ears, throat, nose and basically whole body have really become anti-cats lately :( What should I do?!?!?! Thanks for the tips and suggestions friends!

Avatar f tn I just got a Siamese cat and ever since i've gotten her i've had headaches. sometimes i forget about them then they come back every so often, no other symptoms. I would like to know if keeping her around getting these random headaches every so often is dangerous for me in the long run.. or if I can stand the symptoms then I can keep her around... is this a problem that will become serious or can I just keep her around? Please reply.
440120 tn?1211724496 I've recently been to an allergist because of newly acquired allergies. I'm 43. I developed an allergy to cats in my 20s after having cats since I was a child. I got a new kitten and found that her saliva gave me hives. Since then I've always had a mild cat allergy. I was tested and found allergic to cats and dogs and a mild reaction to milk. Everything else was negative.

Avatar f tn Oh, that's annoying. That's happened to me as well! Do you have allergies or anything? Let me ask you the tough question of other symptoms like low grade fever or dry cough? The covid-19 virus is out there! I have what you describe a lot like on the tail end of a cold. Drives me crazy! Two things that I've read really help is lots of hydration. Drink extra water as it thins your bodies secretions. Also, you can take OTC Mucinex which thins them as well.

541150 tn?1306033843 Well as some of you know my cat Abby is extremely attached to me and sleeps with us in the bed. Abby cannot stand to be away from me and we know why. We have been through a lot with him so he is very needy and co-dependent. He is definitely not your typical cat but he is justified and I love him very much no matter what :-) When my baby is born he will sleep in the room with us. Can the baby be affected by cat hair? How do I know if my baby has developed allergies from my cat's saliva?
Avatar f tn Should have this Mirena removed i really like it, but it causes a fowl smell,,,, a terrible discharge. I do too have to wear panty liners everyday. But i do like it. Do have a bacteria infection. Everytime i go to the doctor they say i dont have anything. I had a period for more than 5 days, and every since then i have been having this ordory brown discharge.
7639611 tn?1392877261 Only a skin test (that tests for cat allergy) will rule out for sure whether it is cat allergy or not. If it is cat allergy, then if you do not take anti-allergic pills, the symptoms will resurface time and again. You can again start the medications (after consulting a doctor) to see if your symptoms subside. Also, you could live away from the cat for a day or two and see if your symptoms improve. However, it would be best to consult a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn i dont know if it will ever go away. i worry about it all day.
Avatar n tn Itchy skin, sores, and the fat lip (likely an eosinophilic granuloma) are indeed all allergy related. The fat lip also is commonly secondarily infected with bacteria, so I would recommend a 2-3 week course of antibiotics if not already done. The three types of allergies are parasite (fleas, mites), food allergy, and pollen/dust allergies. If your cat is already on a good flea control such as Advantage or Revolution, then parasites are less likely.
Avatar f tn Sunlight really helps them fade. But no, they do not go away.
Avatar f tn Allergies aren't hereditary but they can come and go. Some people outgrow allergies and others get them when they are older. My little brother had a lot of allergies when he was a kid (including pet dander) and outgrew them, while I didn't have them as a child but became more prone to them as an adult.
8778737 tn?1413827423 t really developed any new allergies except my dogs hair makes me break out from time to time. But the allergies I do have have gotten worse (lavender, nickel, basil).
Avatar n tn My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays, she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Ok well here I go again. I have this headache that won't go away. I am sure this is totally unrelated to MS but not sure if it can be related to the steroids I was on for the numb face and hand. I have taken the steroids before and never had this headache, who knows. I just thought I would ask if the steroids can do this to me or if this is something else.
