ESPECALLY if you say you have chest pain. I actually think an ER or Urgent Care would be prudent. Let us know how you are doing!
Avatar f tn The various causes of facial numbness on one side of the face are diabetes mellitus, peripheral nerve trauma, stroke, bells or lower motor neuron palsy, acoustic neuroma and trigeminal neuralgia. Consult a neurologist if there has been any such recent development in your husband. Dental consult is also warranted to rule out trigeminal nerve involvement or any dental cause of numbness. Take care.

Recently (last 4 months) it has become worse and been constant, PAINFUL and I can't walk from my back door to my garage without my legs being so tired and hurting. The swelling is so severe my skin feels like it is going to split! Nothing seems to ease the swelling or pain and I am practically bed-ridden.
Avatar n tn commonly known as peripheral edema and there can be a number of causes including standing still too long or overweight. Bad circulation can be a cause also. Are you taking medication such as calcium channel blockers? reducing such medication can help. There is medication which will trigger the kidneys to remove more fluid from the body, reducing the swelling. You should have this addressed because long term it will compress body tissue, arteries and veins. Is the swelling painful?

The edema should be immediately treated as the heart is working hard (can/will enlarge left ventricle causing an additional problem) and can cause irreversilable damage.
