My doc prescribed me some 0.3 clonidine tablets ,he said it would get me thru the nasty WD ,he only gave me a script 4 six of them which is three days worth I'm suppose 2 take 1 n the am & anotha in the pm starting 2morrow 4 the next 3 days&he said I shouldn't experience any WD while. I'm on them ,just the mental part. Which ill b following up with aftercare,has or does anybody out there have any knowledge about this clonidine??????

Does anyone know the usually dosing amounts to help for severe wd or what the max allowable for clonidine? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My doctor had me on a very specific and aggressive dosing schedule and it worked very well when I went off of hydrocodone. Additionally, I was instructed to check my blood pressure several times a day to make sure it did not drop too low. Good luck to you.

The only thing I can say about clonidine is that I know someone who isnt an addict but became dependant on lortabs after a surgery,,not being an addict he had the ability to follow his drs tapering schedule and at the last weeks of his taper his dr had him wear a .02 clonidine patch, then .

Recommendation for missed PI dose is if within 4 hrs of normal dosing time to go ahead and take it and return to normal dosing schedule if more than 4 hrs skip it and return to normal dosing schedule

While it's ok to talk about it, we can't not allow people to give tapering schedules, dosing info, etc., as only a doctor can do that. Then this morning I talked to my current Dr to help me make it till this appt, to my surprise he told me just to take my clonidine .1mg which I have been taking for 3 times a day for 2 yrs already. and now I am taking another BP med on top of that which is Labetalol 50Mg a day. sorry for bitching just seems like the clonidine is not doing anything at all My legs, I sweat bad, Hot then Cold and I just F-ing hurtso bad...

You may be having too much clonidine if your feeling dizzy and lightheaded. I had clonidine and valium to take together by my subutex doctor for detox. It worked wonders.

My doctor suggested monitoring for the first 24 hours after my first shot for when the onset of any side effects occured and then adjusting when i gave myself the shot so that the onset or most of the "WORST" of the sx occured while I was sleeping. urs I'm 72 hours off suboxone and feeling horrible thought after 3 days I would be feeling better, ok now when the Dr gave me suboxone she also gave me clonidine I haven't taken any my question is can I take one just to get some kind of rest?? Hi & Welcome, In case you have not tried before, tapering is tricky business. As you begin to drop your dose you will begin to feel the withdrawal and that is where the problem lies. A lot of people cannot take the slow method and choose to just rip the band aid off and get it over with. You and your doctor should decide what is best. If you decide to taper, it is best to have someone help you by holding the meds and dosing them to you according to the doctor's schedule.

Yeah, sorry about any possible miscommunication. The Incivek dosing schedule of three times a day has to to do with the relatively short half-life of Incivek. Taking each dose with 20 grams of fat has to do with increasing absorption & bioavailability. Even though someone's doctor may have said otherwise it would be helpful to provide the Incivek Product Monograph to show the dosing schedule has changed.

Honestly, I would just skip it and resume your normal dosing schedule in the am. You are on a every 12 hour schedule, and it would be one thing if it were just off by a little, but you are off by 6, 7 hours.. Not that it would harm you in any way, but you may end up with a few unpleasant side effects, especially since you're dosing twice daily. If you find yourself frequently forgetting to take a dose...then find a way to remind yourself.

I have been on methadone for 2 1/2 years and have been tapering down for about a year of that. I am on 4mg of methadone now. It got the hardest when I got to 12mg and since 6mg it has been even more difficult. I was prescribed neurotin which has def helped witb the withdrawal and also clonidine which helps when I can't sleep. I just don't want to be dependent on another drug when im done with the methadone. I was planning on dosing to 3mg then 2mg then 1mg being on each for 4 weeks.
