Is an excruciating headache a sign of a reaction to clindamycin? I can't take it anymore, and my CT scan came back clean. I'm on the antibiotic as a preventative measure after sinus surgery (I'm about a week out). There's no infection, and all the drainage, etc. is normal.
I took bactrim and after 5 1/2 days had an intense allergic reaction of a burning sensation, needle pricking and numbness. They put me on clindamycin. I continued to have reactions, so guess they couldn't tell if it was the bactrim still in my system or also being allergic to clindamycin. Anyway, I was on some sort of antibiotic for 71/2 to 8 days. It's been 2 weeks since I stopped the 800mg/160mg 2x a day bactrim and the burning sensation is still there but much milder.
I cant see the rash, so the best answer is to keep taking the meds until they are GONE. At 4 days, they are just beginning to take hold in your system. If your rash isn't better when you are finished with the meds, then until you have insurance, you might seek help at the Health Dept STD clinic who often sees people for free or for sliding scale.
there is no irritation, no redness no flakiness, no itchy rash rashes it simply bald area, smooth, i touch it i can feel little white hair. the day i shave i can see very light red rash i m not sure if it happen because i shave.
I even asked if maybe it could be related some the medications (doxycycline, clindamycin, 5-HTP, clobetasol, vitamin D) I am taking. The answer was no. Was told that it was probably just a fluke and it would eventually just go away.
I've reached my frustration limit. The heat isn't going away. I've tried keeping a fan pointed at my face while I am at work, but that doesn't help. I even switched the air to cool on my blow dryer. Am I doomed? Will I never find a solution?
I've had this rash for quite a few years now I went to the Dermatologist recently he prescribed me 1 % Clindamycin Lotion Lotion that hasn't done anything for it.. he told me it is a minor fungal rash.. I've tried everything Jock Itch Food Powder.. Clotrimazole Cream.. I've tried home remedies Aloe and a few others.. nothing it getting it to go away. The Doctor also told me I may have minor psoriasis but I researched the rash and it doesn't look anything like it.

well i started noticing the rash a few months back but i didnt think much of it. then i found out my girlfriend of a few years had cheated so i got a little worried. well the rash is like where my thighs meet my body. it is on both sides surrounding my penis. it itches pretty bad sometimes, also has a nasty smell and also i have two open sores that close and reopen from time to time. they do not hurt at all. i kinda think they are opening to release some kind of built up preassure maybe?
After 1 week of use i noticed my face was muchmore red and scaly dry worse than before and developed red itchy rash on neck and chest went back to derm took me off metro cream said i have folliculitis and prescribed me clindamycin. Aftter my research online i noticed antifungal creams are for folliculitis not acne medication was i given the wrong medication?
Hi there. For about the past year or so I've had a recurring rash on my jaw. At it's worst, it's very itchy, bumpy and red, sometimes dry. It's always there, but only really flares up every couple weeks and last for a few days. It's always in the same isolated spot on my right jaw. When it isn't flared up, you can still see it, but it doesn't itch, isn't bumpy and is a lighter shade of red.
Hi, I took Clindamycin 300 mg 3x a day. I only finished 12 out of 21 pills as I feared the high risk of colitis associated with this drug. My question is that after stopping the medication about 3 days ago, I am having long (6"+), loose stools. Could this be c. diff? I also have a lot of gas throughout the day, some mild abdominal pain too.

I had also began treatment for BV with inserting Clindamycin vaginally. Could the Clindamycin that was in my vagina kill the HIV virus if I were exposed to it?
4. I had been on antibiotics for several months (vaginal Clindamycin and metronidazole (both oral and vaginal) could that have caused the what I assume are throat ulcers?
5. Lastly, how long should the spots on my throat last?

has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
HOWEVER, i have read that this drug is not commonly used to treat std's as there are so many better options. Is clindamycin going to work??? Thanks.
The rash sounds like it is related to the clindamycin medication. Are you still using that cream prescribed for the rash? (it is probably some type of steroid cream). Perhaps you can obtain a copy of your ER report to see if you were checked for mono.
Second suggestion is to establish with a physician to follow up with all you have going on then that physician will be more in tune with your history, etc. and the care will be more tailored to you versus the ER.
t treat yourself as it may be the wrong treatment. There are complications you can get from clindamycin also and it is not a good choice. If you have a viral infection you won't need antibiotics. If you had strep throat you wouldn't have an ear infection usually. It can happen but isn't usually the way it presents. Do you have a high fever? Pus in the throat, or rash?
In the unfortunate event that you do not read Part 2, I should note I have applied Fluocinonide .05%, Permethrin 5% cream, and Clindamycin Phosphate 1% lotion with no success.)
Two months ago an itch began on the interior of my left thigh while wearing compression shorts at the gym. (I understand sometimes information may lead a doctor in the wrong direction, but it's worth noting I workout 4 times a week, and sometimes I wear my gym clothes on back-to-back days.

t use neosporin as it gives me a rash....had an appointment today...my doctor believes it is a staph infection so I now taking clindamycin.
I had some teeth extracted and had a bit of discomfort a few days after. I am allergic to Penicillin, so my oral surgeon prescribed Clindamycin 150mg 4 times daily, for 7 days.(November 5th )
Mouth pain went away and about the first week of December (one month later) and up to this date, i have lose stools, not quite diarreha but they are soft and accompanied by mucous like substance. Stress has always been a big part of my life, but never a problem so i am ruling that out.
both eyes were slightly swollen small blistery rash. He gave me clindamycin for 10 days. It helped. A month later went to doctor eyes itchy & swollen with little blisters, little blisters on palms also. Gave me script for hydrocortisone. To make a long story short, I have been to doctors 7 times since tooth extraction for aches face, jaw, neck, ears clogging, upper left arm aching, swollen glands under chin, as well as two chest colds, and also diagnosed with sinusitis.
It can take 6 to 12 weeks of treatment before the rash and irritation of the skin shows a significant improvement. Recurrence is common but it will generally respond to the same treatment that previously cleared it up. Elidel should be used only if other drugs have failed or if other medications are not considered appropriate by your doctor. Topical metronidazole, or erythromycin or clindamycin are effective alternatives. Clarify your doubts with your dermatologist. Do keep us posted.
It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now. My dermatologist diagnosed me as have moderately severe acne and prescribed me Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg 2x a day and Differin Lotion .1%. I know this will take 3-4 months for results to actually show.

* Week 8: started doxycycline, 3 days later penis pain gone. I was masturbating throughout taking doxycycline and was no abnormal pain, other than second last day it was VERY rough, pain hurt immediately and persisted for a few days then cleared up.

Week 12: started cipro -- now three days and still painful penis.
t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
