This is on the L side of the chest also. Last October my Neuro started me on Valtrex, 2 gr. daily, and after a few weeks the lymph nodes started to improve. The gram pills are huge, and I as much as I felt a ton of improvement with them, swallowing them was a frightening experience. A couple times I nearly choked to death, but got them back out. So this led me to sort of slack off taking them (bad I know) for fear of choking.
Unfortunately im the results came back positive. well i had cryosurgery done may 18 2012 and he perscriped Valtrex to start taking it immediately. Today is my 5th day taking the medication 1mg a day and still no changes my discharge "still" remains it doesnt flow out of me it sticks to my vaginal walls which annoys me!! i feel wet ALL the time!!! PLZ can anyone tell me if they have experience something similar to me..
I also have herpes simplex 1 which I've had for about 4 years and have only had 1 outbreak in that time. Out of fear of experiencing another outbreak, I take Valtrex daily which reduces and shortens the length of time if I was ever to get another. my Dr. says that it doesn't look really like an out break at all, and it certainly doesn't feel like how I remembered it to feel like. No one knows what this is and why I keep feeling like this.
and prescribed Clindamyacin, Corbetasol, and Valtrex to cover all our bases. Despite my negative tests and previous diagnoses, she still worries that it might be HSV related. She wants me on antiviral drugs just to see if they have any effect. So here's my problem. I've taken Valtrex before (2 pills daily, AM & PM for a week) and it had no discernable effect on my symptoms, healing or future outbreaks.
Soon after it burst with puss and blood coming out then healed. I went to the er the same day and got tested for herpes and was negative but was perscribed valtrex just incase of positive results. I finished the script but not even a month later i have the same bump in the exact same area. I applied a hot compress which bought it to a head and i ciuld see a hair growing out. I pulled the piece of hair poking out with tweezers. IMMEDIATELY AFTER puss then blood came out alot of blood.
On Thursday I saw the dermatologist and he said it was likely a bad bacterial infection, gave me strong ointment and antibiotic Clindamycin HCL, the ointment Altabax retapamulin 1% and said if it didn't at least feel a little better in the morning go to the hospital. I entered the emergency room Friday morning in major pain, and with a disfigured face. I was admitted Friday evening and given an iv drip with 6 rounds of antibiotic.
I visited 4 different doc. They all thought BV or YI. They all put me metrodinazole or clindamycin. It did stop the discharge and bad odor, but I have this reddish look on vulva also still itchy and sometimes it stings :( Doctors check for outbreak external and internal and they didn't find anything. I tried salt baths it helped a little. I am using probiotics. I have never been like this before. Even I got outbreaks it doesnt itch like this. Could herpes cause this?
I have maybe 2 breakouts each year on the back of leg and take Valtrex to controll it when its active. My total Cholesterol is a low 85 and my HDL is 31. I had a possible exposure on June 21 with a sex worker in Panama, we had protected vaginal and anal, and unprotected oral sex. About or around the 16th of July I started feeling bad with a massive headache almost like the start of a herpes outbreak. Then a couple of nights of bed sweats and a loss of appetite.
I get kinda the same symptoms, but I get a sore throat, swollen glands and flu-like symptoms. I am currently on Valtrex and was on it the past two times. From what I was told by the Doctor in the Expert forum, it is possible to have HSV and have negative test results because the virus can lie dormant for quite awhile. He also told me that the culture(swabbing test) is not sensitive enough and can give false negatives.
By this time my right breast was also swollen and also had some blisters, although a lot fewer than the left. They gave me clindamycin through IV and both the redness and swelling went down dramatically within 45 minutes. But my culture came back positive for herpes--no typing. I developed a low fever and also a sore throat with a white ulcer in the back of my throat.
i recently found out that im 2 weeks pregnant and iwas on antibiotics(doxyclyn and metrronidazole) for bacterial infection before i took the test ,i want to know if this has affected the baby or me.
I started dating a man a few months back and a few days after out first sexual encounter, I developed a burning and tingling sensation in my rectal and vaginal region and pretty much had the symptoms of hsv so I went to the doc and I was diagnosed with yeast and bv, no comfort from treatment do returned and was given an igg test. First test was 4.0 and next was 2.10.
When I went to the emergency room the doctor there said he thought it was herpes and gave me valtrex and clyndamicin. The PCR blood test the ER doc did came back negative for both type 1 and type 2 HSV. It has now been a week and I no longer have a fever and all the blisters have turned into yellow crusts that are falling off. I never had anything ooze out of my nipples. Just those yellow crusts now that it is healing. I also had an ultrasound and everything looks good.
I went to see my GYN because I thought I was suffering from yeast/bacterial vaginosis--he prescribed Flagyl, as well as Clindamycin and as a final precaution ordered an HSV blood test. I am relieved, yet very upset about the official verdict. I've probably been infected with HSV-2 for at least 30 years. I have an 18 year old daughter who was delivered vaginally without any issue. I was married for more than 11 years and never infected my husband. How can this be?
While having this “cut” I have had, over the course of 1 year, 2 negative cultures and 3 negative PCRs. I have been taking Valtrex on and off, but have not taken the Valtrex before I get the culture, but not sure if the Valtrex may still be in the system for some (?). Anyway, over the last 2 months, this issue has been coming and going approximately 1-2x a week (whereas it used to occur approx. 1 time a month-- lasts a few days and goes away).

They put me on clindamycin for the vaginosis. Are you saying to go back and get tested again in 12 weeks if it comes back negative? I'm not familiar with how this works. I know that the vaginosis itched like crazy, which is why I think that I may have actually contributed to the ulcer type skin to appear. I had almost an identical experience a couple of months ago, but left the area alone instead of putting something on it.
They did a swab and said BV and gave me clindamycin for 7 days at night. I still get on and off "burning" and a "heat" sensation on my thighs. I am just starting to mentally prepare myself herpes. There really is no other answer. I quit my birth control to see if that would help and I started the Valtrex again but my symptoms aren't really getting better. Just keep coming and going.
I was given a 7 day regimen of Valtrex 1g/day and coupled that with Neosporin, so I can't really tell which one was effective. The blisters were gone by the 18th. The test was IgM negative. I understand that this test cannot differentiate HSV strains, that isn't a problem since my girlfriend was tested and we know it's HSV-2. Then the other symptoms started after the blisters had disappeared.
problematic issue with HSV2 on my face. I am going to start with a timeline of what has happened and my symptoms.12/15/12 – Most likely exposed to HSV2 virus on face & mouth via oral sex in a careless moment with wife of 20 years. My wife & I both have Genital HSV2. We have never had symptoms on our face. 12/16/12 – (12 hours later) noticed rough dry skin spot (flaky cold sore like, but this spot never bubbled up blister wise) on side of lower lip.
Other information and symptoms that someone might recognize... 1. I was put on two antibiotics, amoxicillin and clindamycin, in months prior to this (February and the end of April) for other health issues. I had to treat myself for a yeast infection following the amoxicillin treatment. 2. I am on birth control pills. I am currently 27 and have been using them since I was about 17. 3. I have always struggled with vaginal dryness. Using tampons was sometimes uncomfortable. 4.
even though it is possible I don’t believe my husband has either and again he has no symptoms. now I am taking meds for herpes and I am not officially diagnosed with it. Friday Apr 30th-expressed small pimple located between the lip and the chin on the right side of face. Saturday May 1st –entire right side of jaw line & lower cheek swollen. Checked into ER, Doc states its Impetigo, due to infected pimple.
Chronic Dermatitis can apparently really cause problems down there!! Since Clindamycin and Hydrocortizone suppositories are not as serious as using steroid creams, it seems worth a try for anyone whose Dr. can't figure this stuff out! best of luck..
Has anyone had this before and stopped the progression through antibiotics or other means? It is all over my body and getting worse. I'm in a panic as no one in the U.S. seems to know what to do. I've read so much of the same information. I just want to know if it can truly be stopped and if dermatological procedures can help reduce the look of the atrophy and sunken spots. Without trying to sound rude, I am not looking for what it is how how it manifests. That I have l learned.
I went back to the doctor on September 7th, and she did a culture and found bacterial vaginosis. She also took a biopsy of one of the bumps to test it for herpes. Today, September 9th, I noticed that the bumps on my vaginal lips look larger and are now hurting without even pressing on them. The itching has actually decreased, but now my lips are painful. I know that I will probably find out in a few days what this is, but I am FREAKING out.
I was trying to write it off as the toilet paper, etc! But then I became more and more worried, and began to research it and that's when I came across this website. After reading everything I decided to go see my OBGYN. He of course tested me for Herpes, and even though I had read everything that you have all been through, and knowing that none of your tests had come back positive, I was still nervous. He also tested me for a yeast infection.
I went to the doctor today and was tested for Herpes and given a prescription for Valtrex (which I can't afford). She said she thought there was a 40% chance it was herpes (my boyfriend gets mouth cold sores, but neither of us has any other history of HSV) and a 60% chance it was "just tears" and said I should just make sure I use KY, which I already do. Also, I'm supposed to be on my period this week, but I haven't really been having them since I started ortho-novum.
Yeah. Well that's what I hope-related to some kind of yeast thing, and not HPV-which would mean I have to wait until it runs it's course with me. My doctor actually told me to stick with the gold bond if it works, but that's treating the symptoms...sigh. I just had a run of anti biotics after a surgery, wouldn't that take care of any kind of BI/yeast/uti??
A few days ago I noticed a sore, reddish swollen lump on my left inner thigh, right along my bikini line. It has since gotten larger (about the size of a nickel, and more elongated now). It only feels sore if I press on it or rub against it. It seems like a soft lump that moves around with the skin. Last night I applied a warm washcloth to it for about 30 minutes, which made it feel better. Could this be a swollen lymph node, or maybe an ingrown hair?
I will say that yesterday for the first time in a long time I began using the topical cream DUAC prescribed by my Dermatologist for acne. It is 1% clindamycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide, and as I write this it is forefront on my mind that this stuff may be the cause (there has to be an obvious link between my sudden reoccurrance and my recent use of this cream--yesterday). Perhaps some of the ingredients in this stuff are in something you use?
