Can you tell me from your experience do I have a reason to be afraid if I´m in the sun a lot? How do I apply Sona gel? The dermatologist said to apply it to my hole face and back, but in notes for the medication says on the damaged spot? For now I´m taking Doksiciklin caps a 100mg which my GP administered instead Hyramicin. I´m looking forward to Your reply. Thank You so much!

t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.

For years now i have had these lesions grow on my arms, pretty much on my shoulder and biceps, just reaching my forearms. I was very badly burned by the sun 10 years ago and after that these things appeared. Could someone tell me; 1) What they are, what is this condition called, what could possibly cause this. 2) How can this go away. I have had dermatologists in Greece tell me "it's nothing" which is the most infuriating thing i have ever heard. 10 years.

I have spoken to my family in the UK and searched the internet and can nothing about taking milk based products and antibiotics together. Is this a German idea? Please can you offer some information.

Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.

But this time the doctor gave me Clindamycin and the bacteria is going away in the tonsils but not in the back of the throat yet. So I made an appointment next week just in case it is still there and I would have to take prednisone all over again?

wow, I cannot believe how many folks have these issues since taking clindamycin. I as well took the meds(last year) and now have UC. Is there some connection. Should the drug company not be responsible in some way?

my partner was infected, so the dr suspects i am also. the dr said i should be treated and tested in a months time to confirm no infection is present. Why would they prescribe clindamycin if it wont do anything?

Under absolutely positively no circumstances should you be drinking alcohol and taking Clindamycin. Alcohol is a solvent and besides other effects breaks the molecular bonds on the antibiotic, destroying it's usefullness. Drinking is a good way to develop an antibiotic resistant infection.

I too was told by my rheumy a year ago to stay out of the sun, when I was first diagnosed. I'm an outdoor person with a perpetual tan and never burn. I can always be found working in the yard, or in the pool in the summer. Last summer I stayed out of the sun from July on because of his warning. Recently I asked my PCP why I needed to stay out of the sun, what would happen if I didn't, etc?.

There was one located on the left side right at the line where the hair ends. it rubbed against my shirt and/or coat collar and became infected (after I picked at it). Now it is infected with swelling and pain going down the side of my neck almost to the collarbone. I went to see a healthcare professional (a nurse that can prescribe medication) and she determined that Clindamycin is the best antibiotic since I'm allergic to Penicillin.

i had white bumps on my lips and it was itchy my lip got swollen and the i went to the hospital they gave me this pill called clindamycin and i couldnt eat anything cause if i did i would throw it up and then 1-2 weeks it was gone no more swelling or bumps or puss just me and my normal self i havent had it in over a year so i have to say try clindamycin i hope it works for you good luck

I have the same symtoms..and under active thyroid. I love the sun and outdoor events, but I get soooo drained and tired. I drink plenty of water and I sleep great..dont make sence? I take Synthroid and my dr say my thyroid levels are fine. I guess I just have to pace myself?

I too have the tingly burning sensation after 10 days on doxy and being at beach for one hr.. its on the tops of my hands and feet! If you don't want this feeling don t go in the sun! And I don't burn from the sun.. just finished meds today was on it for an abscecc brewing in my neck.. so I don't think its lyme disease related...

It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?

I recently went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned and have some minor fillings touched up. Since this visit; a neighboring tooth that has had a root canal and a crown . I have clindamycin 300 mg, can I safely double up todays med intake. To be painfree for Christmas plans tomorrow??

Two days later, 9/26 my tongue was coated white/yellow and the sides of my tonue seemed to be curved and red. I was a little tired and achey but also out walking in the rain. 9/27 my throat is no longer sore. Tongue coloring is still off but not painful. Top and tip of my tongue is tingling a little still colored. 9/28 Top and tip of my tongue is tingling a little still colored. Bottom inside lip feels a little numb and maybe a bit swollen.

Also, i use clindamycin phosphate lotion to prevent breakouts during the day. If i add this underneath the clindamycin, will it stop the clindamycin from working? Will the serum cause breakouts? It says it is for all skin types. Should i maybe use the hydrating complex after i use the clindamycin? I am 24 yr old female still experiencing some breakouts. I have not had any breakous for about 2 months since using clindamycin during the day, and sulfacetamide at night.

I ended up at an Oral Surgeon's office yesterday, and he had to re-open the site of infection and scrape, clean, remove cadaver bone chips, pack with antibiotic and close it up with 4 stitches and a drain. I am also on Clindamycin again. I go back tomorrow to have the drain removed. I was in *horrible* pain yesterday, but today it is quite a bit better.

Thank you so much for your response. May I also ask what length of time would I take the Biaxin? And is there any home treatment, Like garlic pills etc. that would help augment healing? ( since Biaxin is not considered the best treatment.) Although I'm stuck with that. And frankly, I was on the Clindamycin for weeks and that didn't get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.

Also, the infection has been treated with numerous antibiotics (amoxicillin, flagyl, omnicef, augmentin, clindamycin), and all seem to help at first, but only clindamycin has lasting effects. Not even augmentin worked. Any idea on what kind of bacteria would respond to clindamycin but not augmentin?
