Avatar f tn Alternatively, you can take clindamycin for the bv and drink a boat load of cranberry juice for the UTI and water of course. It will take longer to clear up the UTI but it should work. It did for me in a pinch. It just took a couple of extra days. Of course if you are diabetic you can't.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Erythromycin and following that Clindamycin. Approximately a week after I stopped the medication I had a sudden and severe onset of diarrhea. I waited several days and when it didn't stop I saw a family M.D. He ordered a stool culture and some additional tests on the stool all which came out negative. Initially he thought it was a result of the antibiotics however with the negative lab results he no longer believes this is the problem and wants me to get a colonoscopy.
Avatar f tn Do I take clindamycin with yogurts or a probiotici've spoke to Many pharmacists and they've all have different reaction Do I eat Greek organic yogurt with a meal and then take the pill three times a day or do I take the meal with the probiotics
Avatar n tn Can i take clindamycin with my levothyroxin 75mcg . Because i have a sore throat and runny nose ?
Avatar m tn I was not able to get my hands on Florastor or similar probiotics but I did consume yogurt and kefir. Will that help, or are supplements more efficient? Today I had a very long, loose stool after eating just a banana and slice of pizza. It does not seem like C Diff to me according to your answer, however, I'm scared that everything I'm eating is going right through me without being properly being absorbed by my body. What issues can this cause?
Avatar f tn I took bactrim and after 5 1/2 days had an intense allergic reaction of a burning sensation, needle pricking and numbness. They put me on clindamycin. I continued to have reactions, so guess they couldn't tell if it was the bactrim still in my system or also being allergic to clindamycin. Anyway, I was on some sort of antibiotic for 71/2 to 8 days. It's been 2 weeks since I stopped the 800mg/160mg 2x a day bactrim and the burning sensation is still there but much milder.
Avatar f tn I have taken only 2 pills of clindamycin and now have a awfull gut ache so i quit taking it but the pain wont go away, is there anything to take.

Avatar f tn i been to a few different doctors and told them everything and gave them the name of the medication of clindamycin because thats when all these symptoms had started they told me to take probiotics and vitamins. i been taking them every day and nothing has gotten better the doctor seemed to not to believe me about anything or something so i stopped going to the doctor and been living with this problem for a year just trying to ignore it but it has caused me so much anxiety and im very worried.
Avatar m tn I have spoken to my family in the UK and searched the internet and can nothing about taking milk based products and antibiotics together. Is this a German specialty? Please can you offer some information.
Avatar n tn Judy, pick up some probiotics and give them a try. Antibiotics can knock the good bacteria in your system for a loop and that can cause changes in bowel functions. Try something like Culturelle and finish out the whole pack. Take the probiotics at LEAST 2-3 hours after taking any antibiotics, if you've still taking them.
Avatar n tn Been to the doctor again she said it is normal because it is a strong antibiotic (as i can not use penecilline, allergic to it) and told i had to use probiotics. I am taking probiotics now. I am really worried in case the antibiotics have caused a stomach ulcer. Is it possible?
Avatar f tn For the past 6 + months i have been battlling recurrent yeast and bacterial infections. I have been on multiple doses of Diflucan, Terazol, Monistat, and clindamycin. Nothing seems to help. The doctor just says she doesnt know and prescribes something else. I am getting extremely frustrated and depressed and dont know what else to do. I tried adding a daily dose of probiotic every day (did that for several months) and that only seemed to exacerbate things.
Avatar n tn It depends on what time of day you take your temperature. It is lowest in the morning and rises during the day and is highest around 6 p.m. But your temperature can be a little low or a little high and it is your body either fighting something off or just regulating itself. I would worry about such as small change like that. Sometimes your temp goes down a degree when you are fighting a virus. As for the doxy and clindamycin.
Avatar f tn I am 27 year old male, in September 2017 I suffered from an acute throat infection so my ENT doctor gave me clindamycin and since then I am having acute diarrhea with pain in my lower abdomen. The pain starts and I feel the urgent need of going for bowel movement and as soon as I am done the pain goes away. There is no blood in the stool but it watery all the time and yellow in color. This happens about 4-5 times daily.
1394601 tn?1328032308 Just keep drinking plenty of fluids and take some probiotics if you can (like Culturelle or something). It keeps me from get a yeast infection and helps regulate the digestive tract. I used Clindamycin for MRSA. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
Avatar n tn After my hospital stay, I was sent home with Clindamycin and Ampicillin capsules to take for 5 days. I had diarrhea for 4 days straight and called the Dr. She told me to stop taking the medicines immediately. About 4 days later, I was stricken with severe abdominal cramping, nausea and watery diarrhea. I was rushed to the emergency room and had CT scans, abdominal XRays, and stool samples taken. I was diagnosed with C. diff.
Avatar f tn Did they try using clindamycin? Also, you could have you and your husband both try the antibiotic at the same time since you seem to get it with intercourse. Do you get it if he uses a condom? That would indicate it is getting passed to you back and forth.
Avatar f tn just got over a five month bout with C Diff myself with relapses (clindamycin caused mine too) and your journey sounds alot like mine. Flagyl failed (failures rising per latest studies) and then went to vanco round, followed by a slow vanco taper. The taper seems to have been the magic bullet for my case. Finished taper and felt "C Diffy" for months afterward, doc attributed it to post infection IBS. Finally back to normal here - but it was a long road to healing.
Avatar n tn well, with your two teeth gone i'm sure you're looking for something soft to eat and a GREAT suggestion right now would be yogurt. i perfer dannon active myself. the main reason is that the clindamycin is a very powerful antibiotic (my doctor put me on 450mg of clindamycin) the down side is clindamycin can kill everything in your body. that includes the good bacteria in your intestine called gut flora.
Avatar f tn I know they say that even if it was to affect you could have in weeks or months after you stop but I feel totally fine, never felt nauseous, no sulfur taste in my mouth and taking probiotics still. Dentist wanted me to stay on clindamycin a week after the first round finished.
Avatar f tn t seem to have problems with doxycycline, amoxicillin or clindamycin. Clindamycin destroys my stomach though. I avoid cipro and zithromax.
Avatar f tn Studies have shown that antibiotics (usually metronidazole or clindamycin) plus after that is done take probiotics once a week for 6 months and it may not recur. Without the probiotics there is often recurrence. You can buy probiotics with various live bacteria such as bifidobacteria, lactobacillus and so forth at about 10 billion copies. Places like Costco and so forth have them or online. Your doctor will need to examine you to be sure it is BV.
Avatar f tn This is not always directly related to sex, although it is common for me to have worse symptoms after intercourse. I talked to my gyno about it, and she recommended daily OTC probiotics which I have been taking for a couple of weeks now, antibiotics work but i only get temporary relief. I was wondering if anyone else has/had frequent bv infections like I do and what you do to prevent them.
Avatar m tn I have spoken to my family in the UK and searched the internet and can nothing about taking milk based products and antibiotics together. Is this a German idea? Please can you offer some information.
