Chronic heartburn and gas

Common Questions and Answers about Chronic heartburn and gas

heartburn

Have you looked at the signs and symptoms of GERD or GORD. This is chronic reflux which causes heatburn and gas. Increased stomach acid after eating exacerbates symptoms as does the sleeping position. Usually the GP will prescribe PPI's like Omeprazole. If you aint happy taking meds, try some lifestyle changes. Google GERD and GORD though and you'll get some good info.
My physician added 50 mcg of levothyroxine to the 25 mcg of synthetic T3 I was already taking. I have lost 8 pounds, but I still feel cold often, and the chronic heartburn is still present. Sometimes, my heart will race and I will feel hot. Because the heartburn is incapacitating (it really makes it hard to breath and the pain is clenching my neck and chest), I have scheduled another appointment with my physician. I can't tell if the stnthetic T3 or T4 is causing my problems.
Many times these problems would come out of nowhere and then last for weeks or months at a time and then fade away for awhile just as mysteriously, only to return again at a later date. The heartburn and gastric acidity issue was pretty frequent, and may have been due to the cytokine reactions of the immune system in its ongoing battle with HCV.
A couple months ago I thought I was just having severe heartburn, but it turned out to be 2 duodenal ulcers and it was a good thing I went to the er because they admitted me for 5 days. Better to be safe than sorry. Of course, it could be a heart attack as well, but you're pretty young for that. Tagamet or Cimetidine are 2 over the counter meds that work well for heartburn. Only you know how much pain your in. If you can't stand it, get to the ER.
The strangest symptons though are just constant vibrations or movements in my intestinal area, bad heart burn, bad gas, and a feeling like I have to burp but just cant. Im hoping that my heart is fine and the feelings are just from my focusing on it too much, but I just dont know. Can anyone relate to this? Its been 3 months and I cant even sleep anymore.
I took Zantac most of the time. Three years ago I went the doctor for heartburn and gas, mostly burping, they perscribed me to Nexium. I took this for 2 years which controlled my heartburn and gas. For the past year I have been taking Zantac. Three months ago on vacation I had severe heartburn and gas, the Zantac would not stop the symptoms. I went to the doctor again and he perscribed Aciphex, which I took for 10 days, but then I was having bad side effects, such as cramping, nausia, etc.
It was determined I have GERD but I have no acid reflux symptoms other than occasional indigestion/gas. I have no heartburn or reflux type symptoms and my EDG showed only 1 small erosion. I've been on PPI's like pantoprazole, omeprazole, lanoprazole, all because of this "lump sensation" that developed years ago. On the PPI's it became semi-manageable but looking back this was the only reason that lead the doctors I was seeing to believe its GERD.

I am 26 years old, dont drink, so there is no way I should have a belly this big, and breath this bad, and pass so much gas. anyway, I am going to the doctor this week, I was doing some research and came across this site, so I figured I would ask you guys. let me know. Samurai Jack.
Now, on the bloating again, and the gas, and now the heartburn, all this can come from too much gas and acid, among other things, and since you are only passing gas out of the end of your digestive tract, it should also be burping out of your mouth, too. You've got too much acid load and gas in your body.
The first couple years of taking Lexapro I had no side effects. For the last year +, I have had abdominal pain, gas, heartburn & diarrhea almost daily. I have asked my Dr. 3xs if it could be from the Lexapro, but he keeps telling me no. I have a decent diet ~I eat lots of fruit & salad & drink nothing but water. My Dr. just want to give me more med's for the symptoms (prilosec, etc). I take Pepcid and GasX almost every day.
I have no fever yet, I do have chills. I have gas and a little bit of bloating. I was diagnosed with a slow empting stomach a few years ago. Not on any medication. Heartburn just showed up last night but is mild. I know its not pregnacy related..not active at this present time. My period is late by that is normal for me. I normally do not get any of this symptoms before my period. If I was to rate nausea on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst ever I would be at a 8...pain on side- 6.
One thing I experience that is not mentioned above is that the bloating will build up in one spot in my colon, and then if I eat or drink the right thing it will gurgle and spasm a bit and I can feel the gas start to move along and then RELIEF, but just temporarily, until it builds up again or in another area. Oddly, it is things like coffee, and unfortunately cigarettes, that starts things moving, and then relief.
After a troublesome 7 weeks of vomiting, gasses, unsettled stomach, and heartburn I have had enough and went to the doctor. At first GP thought I had acid reflux as I have had it before a couple of years and I showed in my file. She gave me the normal anti acid and dehydration solution and then told me to go home. A week later I have noticed that the medicine made me able to eat but the pain was there and what was more worrying is that I was losing weight while I was eating.
Now I am constantly getting Nausea after eating, very sensitive to temperature (always feeling very clammy, sweaty, especially when stressed or nerveous). I am taking Zantac for my heartburn and recently treated for H-Pylori... I hope this will go away soon... Did Endocopy and Colonoscopy, CT Scan, blood test, and the only thing the doctor said was I have gastritis...
I did not find relief after trying Nexium for 6 weeks and have lost weight. The chronic stomach aches and pains are chronic and my diet is still very bland to keep heartburn at bay. Oh the tummy troubles.
After the ERCP, I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis again. I have had reflux, irritable bowel and gas pain and bloating for years. I am constantly taking Prilosec, Levsin SL, Mylanta, Gas X etc. Anyway, 2 years ago I had taken Prednisone and an antibiotic together at the same time and ended up with severe esophagitis. This was painful, had difficulty breathing, it felt like my heartbeat was in my throat etc. I have been having more problems again.
Hives can be a symptom of thyroid dysfunction. My son had chronic hives and I at first thought he was allergic to something...but turns out it hypothyroid related. ...
- Bloating - how is it related to meals (in what time after the meal it appears), do you belch, have heartburn - Diarrhea - is stool sticky, whitish, foamy and floating and appears after fatty food(important, since it speaks for fat malabsorption) - Losing weight - since when - Pain (extremely important to describe it exactly): Where exactly it appears and where it spreads to, is it like a cramp, does it go completely away, is it related to meal or certain type of food (fruits, fatty foods) 2.
It can also be due to IBS or due to Crohn’s or Celiac disease. Keep a stress diary and see if a particular food causes more gas and heart burn. GERD symptoms are often best relieved by a combination of drugs. Talk to your doctor about it. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed by pillows to 30 degrees.

I cleansed my colon and feel so much better. I released so much junk from my system and colon and feel like a new person. Im havent experienced anything like you but this might actually work for you as it has me. Best pills I tried which is affordable and actually works is from jadesproductions.com I heard about it from the weight loss forums and read good reviews. I tried it myself and love it. They also provide samples for 2.00 to try before committing to a bottle. ITs worth a try.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) decrease the amount of acid produced in your stomach H2 blockers (antagonists) lower the amount of acid released in the stomach Anti-reflux operations (fundoplication and others) may be an option for patients whose symptoms do not go away with lifestyle changes and drugs. Heartburn and other symptoms should improve after surgery, but you may still need to take drugs for your heartburn.
I was prescribed that and Pariet together for the reflux and heartburn I experience. I have since learned that both are pump inhibitors and yes, they both have sideeffects like I experience but all doctors involved sem to thjink that sideeffects should clear after a short time. It has been months for me now though... Before this, I was as regular as clockwork with no problems on that side at all. History in my family is unclear.
I recently posted another question on this site (Chronic Constipation or Motility disorder? And is GERD/Reflux just a symptom?) and I would be really interested to hear some feedback. In the meantime I am trying the Yeast detox, along with the digest gold and acid soothe. I also found a product called DGL that works really well. As far as raw food diets, I found a cleanse that incorporates the raw food diet by Richard Anderson called "Cleanse & Purify Thyself".
I still have found no doc that will even talk to me about gas and pvcs, dizziness, jolts, thumps and twitches. But I KNOW they're related to gas. One thing that's essential to me when I get all these symptoms is to EAT. If I eat I burp a lot and when the gas starts coming up the symptoms subside. Sometimes it takes a long time, but that's how I get rid of them - by eating something hearty like a piece of whole wheat bread with peanut butter.
I want relief from abdominal pains and aches, heartburn and I need to eat again. I have been on Choice drinks. Some ins.
nothing agree's with me)bm's alternate, fever and night sweats, trapped gas (i havent been able to pass gas in months)alot of bowel noises and rumbling. After bm still continue to have urge to pass gas or stool but cant,Many trips to er,nothing can be found wrong, but this mimics appendicitis or sometimes partial bowel obstruction, few times a month wake from sound sleep with "gassy diarrhea attacks" feel clammy/sweating/ feel like im gonna die.
First it is entirely possible to get afib via gas bloat and other stomach and digestive tract disorders. If your stomach and digestive tract is as described then you must have inflamation. All this inflamation and bloat and gas will push up on your diaphram and surrounding areas and cause great discomfort and pain but also can press upon nerves.
