Avatar m tn So, I have had these chest 'acne' bumps for a long time. Each one grows and stays, not a single one had receeded, at firs they look like normal chest acne, then they grow bigger and bigger, very slowly. Had them for at least 2 years now on chest and back. Face is clear of acne (mostly) the acne is permanent, never receeds, but are never painful, even when squeezed, no itch, nothing, but they are red.
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination, but it can be due to Acne keloidalis nuchae. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck. Treatment of AKN includes suppression of the inflammation with antibiotics and steroid gels or intralesional steroid injections.

Avatar n tn The bumps look like acne with no pus. I wash my hair daily. I havent used any new products. Are these red bumps due to scalp folliculitis? What is it? Is there any treatment? I like to keep my hair short(military). Any advice would be appreciated.

264121 tn?1313029456 When I woke up yesterday I had a lot of pain in the center of my chest and I felt around and realized that somehow the catheter that connects my port internally had moved from the side of my neck into the center of my chest, and I think it must have bled inside. So I saw a surgeon this morning and they are taking it out tomorrow. I have a closed port that is under the skin, so you can see a bump but there aren't any lines that come out.
Avatar f tn I do scar easily from acne, thats hereditary. I do have acne scars on my chest area, but below by breasts and down my stomach and sides, these random marks appeared on day. They are light brown-redish, dont hurt or itch or bother me physically except the skin is a little dry and coarse. But they wont go away and look terrible, It makes me very self conscious around my boyfriend and myself. Should I go to a dermatologist or will certain lotion/cream make them disappear?
Avatar f tn Hello, After surgical removal of the mole, you should apply the steristrips for atleast 2weeks after the surgical removal. In some cases it may have to be applied for 3 weeks. I suggest you to consult your operating and then only stop using them. After that, moisturize and massage the area with Vitamin E oil or light weight moisturizer to accelerate healing and reduce scarring.
Avatar n tn Hello doctor. I really hope I can get some helpfull advice, since I haven't found any in a year. I had gotten a tatto on my thigh about a year ago and it got infected. (MRSA probably) I got 3 boils on the area. Went to a doct, was prescibed antiobiotics and all went away. The only problem is that I have 3 purplish scars left that just won't go away no matter what I do. They are a little unflattened, and dark purple.
Avatar n tn As the skin stretches, sheds and regenerates, the scar modifies its appearance. The depth, location ( eg face) and severity of the scar may help suggest if this requires some degree of intervention.
Avatar n tn I also have a persistent keloid located on my chest that developed from a chicken pox scar 10 years ago. I have since had several Kenalog injections that improved my condition greatly. There is no more pain, sensitivity, or tenderness at the keloid site and there has been significant improvement visually as well. It is much much flatter and there has been a noticable reduction in redness. As for the pain of the injection itself, in my opinion it was really painful and very hard to endure.
Avatar n tn It can occur in all skin types, although it is more common in darker skin tones. PIH is not a true scar and is the remnant of an inflamed acne lesion. Picking or popping a pimple increases the chance of developing postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. PIH will fade away over time, even without treatment. It can take three to 24 months for PIH to fully fade, although in some cases it may take longer.

Avatar n tn I have been getting large pimples over the last year or so. I will have one pop up every 6-8 weeks. Some of them turned into boils, maybe because of me picking at them, I'm not sure. One of them on my lower back became a boil, this was about 2 months ago. After doing some internet searching, one of the websites recommended applying warm compresses to the boils to bring them to a head. When I tried this on my boil, it caused blisters to form all over the surrounding area.
Avatar m tn Hello, Since the HIV test has come back negative after 8 mths, so chances of this rash being due to HIV is less. It can be due to folliculitis or acne keloidalais nucahe. It occurs when hairs on the back of the head and neck grow into the skin, become inflamed, and cause scar tissue. These ingrown hairs usually occur following a short haircut on the back of the head and nape of the neck.
Avatar f tn I have a large scar from the surgery I had a few months back that is hypertrophic. Is there any way to lessen the appearance of the scar? I know I am still healing from the surgery right now, so I know that the color will lighten up a little more with time, but is there any way to change the width or hypertrophy of the scar?
10131613 tn?1407989226 It may be worth noting that when I was 12 and 13 years old I had TERRIBLE Back, chest, and shoulder acne. Some mild acne on my cheeks, but TERRIBLE! back/chest/shoulder. It was so bad that I looked leprous, and went on a heavy cocktail of accutane. It cleared up the acne, but I am still left with terrible scarring on my chest and shoulders, nearly 15 years later. Some spots on my chest look like scars but occasionally (Maybe once every few years) inflate with blood and puss.
Avatar n tn They seem to respond to acne meds but they never really go away-the redness and swelling jus goes down. Theres lk a cluster of them right in the middle of the back of my head about 3inches above my neck. Any thoughts?? Ive heard that 'big' people get them, but im a healthy 21yr old, 5' 8" 165lbs and exercise regularly.
