celexa

Avatar f tn m 29, female, have a 6 year old son, I only take nexium and celexa. I have had a history of gastric issues and was diagnosed years ago with IBS. I have no idea what's happening and I'm terrified. Someone please give me some advice. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn Additionally, I was put on Celexa for depression/anxiety by my GP during this whole ordeal. A common side effect of Celexa is weight gain...so I'm wondering if I'd be losing more weight (instead of holding) if I wasn't on it??? Probably a question for the Doctor... Thanks.
Avatar m tn Hi, last year I started having lots of health issues, prior to that I've always been pretty healty, exercising and eating healthy. I'm 41 years old and in March of 2010 I had brain surgery to clip an unruptured aneurysm. Then 3 months later I had a laparoscopic appendectomy. I also have prostate problems (chronic prostatitis) & stomach problems. And I have been diagnosed with IBS, GASTRITIS, DIVERTICULOSIS.
1394445 tn?1351023345 ve been on 20 mg a day since July. The reason I switched from Zoloft to Celexa was that I was having some stomach/IBS issues and thought it might be related to the Zoloft. It was more likely the anxiety adding to the stomach/IBS. Several years ago, I was on Remeron which is great for sleeping. I do have a tendency to want to get off the meds once I start feeling better...and then I start feeling terrible again at some point. I currently go to an internal med doctor.
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old, average weight and moderate exercise, and I have IBS-D with GI malabsorption, functional nausea/vomiting, PTSD, and panic disorder. My heart rate and BP tend to run low (40-60 bpm and 100-110/50-60 mmHg). I take Celexa 40mg daily. I've had blood work done, several EKGs, an echocardiogram, and wore a holter monitor for 30 days and everything looked perfectly normal.
Avatar n tn t want to redo the GI tests, and instead prescribed generic Klonopin, .5MG at morning, evening and 2 at night; 20mg generic Celexa 1c a day; and for any stomacyh efects, 300mg Zantac 1x a day and an over-the-couner probiotic supplement called "Align." I started these on Wednesday afternoon, and it's not Friday early afternoon.
974371 tn?1424653129 I have not heard of Prozac(fluoxetine) being used for treatment of IBS. Citalopram(Celexa), Paroxetine(Paxil) are the 2 we're familiar with prescribing here in Upstate NY.....However, Paroxetine has some nasty side effects..... And I've not heard of Neurontin being used for IBS either.....I agree the dietary changes are a better bet to manage symptoms.....
686172 tn?1256839717 I agreed to try an antidepressant. I was prescribed Celexa 10 mg. After a few weeks I felt better still had some of the symptoms like squeezing in my head and generally tired all the time, I thought ok maybe that's what it was. After 4 months of the meds, I found out I was expecting, happy and not worried about any of the side effects, I quit cold turkey as recommended by my OB, I felt good until month 6, all of my symptoms returned with a vengeance.
Avatar f tn This summer my ex-husband helped me to aquire another medication. Celexa which was given to me by th ER doctor. My regular doctor kept me on effexor, buspar, and celexa with ativan as needed. These were the medications that I've taken for roughly 7 months now. Went to my doctor for a prescription refill on my Effexor and now all of a sudden he WON'T fill it. I've GONE COLD TURKEY!!! I was able to find some 75 mg tablets of effexor but only 3 days. So here I come cold turkey!
5886089 tn?1376162877 ve been diagnosed with anxiety, I was also diagnosed with IBS-D. Gluten is a sensitivity for my IBS, though I tested negative for a gluten allergy. I'm hungry every 2-3 hours, regardless of how much I eat (or what I eat). If I ignore the hunger pains, I get weak, lightheaded, and feel faint. Exercise is not doable at this point, I'm too tired. I do some slight stretching and mild walking a few times a week but anything more than that is impossible.
Avatar f tn I have had fibromyalgia since a near fatal car accident 10 years ago. I am currently on Celexa and Methadone, and I have gained about 35 lbs. and I can't figure out how to stop it or why it is happening. My pain management doctor is a neurologist, and he just says it is a combination of the meds, menopause, not being as active, but he is not a diet doctor and his main concern is my pain. Is there another combination of meds that doesn't do this?
Avatar n tn He recently went on anti depressants for possible serotonin deficiency in his stomach but suffered from major side effects from it. IBS is typically a default diagnosis but he has lost 30 pounds because he is afraid to eat despite stable appetite, but because of the substantial weight loss, the doctor is relunctant to give his this diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Hi I found when I was at my most anxious I got bouts of IBS and bad headaches all brought on by stress, so it could be anxiety related, if you are really worried see your doctor it never hurts to get a once over even if its just to put your mind at rest.
Avatar n tn I am 38 female, married, 2 children ages 9 & 8. Happy family, good income. Active, ran a 1/2 marathon 6 months before all this started. 2 1/2 years ago one evening for no known reason I suddenly came on with the lump sensation in my throat....and obviously a panic attack set in. ( first for both) Freaked out I went to the ER and was told it was stress. Back the next day as it wouldnt go away and I still had major anxiety over it.
881463 tn?1245345649 I am a 40 year old male, a non smoker 5'11 190 pounds. I suffer from depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. I have Asthma, IBS, Gout, Fybromyalgia & acid reflux. The medicines I take are alluporinol (Gout) Ventolin, Prevacid, Flovent, Serevent. Celexa and ativan as needed for panic attacks. I have a benign fatty liver confirmed by Biopsy 5 years ago, which causes elevations in GGT ALT AST ALP.
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
Avatar f tn I haven't seen a neuro. I am trying to find one. I have an appointment with a vein doctor. The rheum said the blue legs/feet are not fibro. I am hearing impaired, born without half of my hearing and have always had tinnus. I have always had allergies and ibs. I'm on gabapentin, celexa, serquil, flexeral, and adderol. So far I'm feeling better, but I don't know if its just a good week or the new medication gabapentin.
396332 tn?1320003615 I was wondering for any of you that have ever taken celexa....Can you actually feel celexa or is it just like zoloft where you dont notice it at all. Also what are some side effects you experianced?
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?
4548569 tn?1356292637 I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. However, within a short time after taking it I noticed a huge improvement in both my depression and anxiety. I am very happy with the Celexa. One problem I am having though is that I have changed as a person and I suspect it is from the Celexa.
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa for about 5 years and went off it a month ago. Started not to feel right and resumed the dosage I had been on at 60mg. I became a nervous wreck (sweats, panic etc) and then i realized I probably should have started back at a lower dose. Would starting at 60mg after not using it for a month cause me to have these very nervous feelings?
Avatar f tn Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've been on celexa for about 3 months started at 20mg now at 40 mg. I have been seeing a lot of benefits. However I used to be on cymbalta and no matter how much I went to the gym I couldn't lose weight. I am fixing to start working out again and trying to eat healthier. Does anyone know if celexa hinders weight loss with proper diet and exercise.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
Avatar m tn Good morning I have been a long sufferer of anxiety that comes and goes. I am currently in a "goes" cycle and suffering constant panic attacks and I have myself convinced that there is something wrong with my heart despite having a normal ECHO in January, a normal treadmill stress test 2 weeks ago, a normal 24 hours holter 2 months ago and normal blood pressure and cholesterol. My Dr. prescribed me 20 mg of Celexa which I took a few years ago and helped a great deal.
