Celexa and zofran

Common Questions and Answers about Celexa and zofran

celexa

Hello! I currently take celexa 20mg. My dr prescribed zofran for my nausea when I get migraines. I looked it up online and it said to never take this if you're on celexa. Now I'm terrified to take it but feel so sick. I need relief. Why would they prescribe it if its not allowed to mix? Or am I ok to take it?!?!
My question - is there anything that can help this nausea if the zoloft doesn't work this time. And do you think I should look further into physical causes? Zofran did't work - are there other meds to help nausea.
Hello, What you may be experiencing is antibiotic associated diarrhea. You can take Zofran and an OTC lactobacillus preparation and yoghurt with your meals. Taking capsules of pre/probiotic (lactobacillus acidophilus) do help a lot. Increasing the intake of curd/yoghurt 3-4 times a day can also help in the improvement of the symptoms.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
I have not slept more than 2 hours each night for the past 5 nights and am so wired, shaky, and sick (despite trying benadryl, unisom, and phenergan on different nights). I am taking Zofran during the day for awful morning sickness and phenergan at night. I am also on 20 mg of Celexa for the anxiety/panic. My heart rate was over 100 for three days, but taking the Zofran has slowed it down. I just feel awful and don't think I can't take any more of this.
I would like some advice on what to expect with side effects. I know depression is one of them and they have already started me on Celexa they also said nausea is common. Is there anything you recommend for nausea ?
weight gain, sleeplessness, too sleepy during the day, lethargy, sweating, upset stomach, constipation and on and on and on..., you get the picture. I just decided to give up on them and do something different.
I got pregnant. Had a hard pregnancy. With Severe Hyperemisis and RLS for 9 mo. I was on Zofran, dexamethazone, phenergan. Then at 29 weeks I could not sleep and felt I was going crazy. My body would not turn off I felt plugged in and had involuntary muscle spasms. They put me on Busbar, zoloft, & ambien all made it worse. Then put me on Klonopin. It got me through the pregnancy. Immediatly after birth I felt better.
I have been quite nauseated while on treatment and have been taking Zofran for the nausea. I am sure it is the treatment drugs and not the wellbutrin. I never had any trouble with wellbutrin. The Zofran helps a great deal. I have also found that I just cannot eat many foods that I used to enjoy. They either do not taste good anymore or they make me feel nauseated. I blame that on the Hep C meds, not wellbutrin.
She has tried every PPI on the books, NEXIUM, Achipex, Zantax, protonix...ect... none work, she was diagnosed with accute pain syndrom and they put her on CELEXA, did nothing. She sees a pain management specialist. This helps with relaxation techniques etc.. but she cannot go on like this. I REALLY feel your pain. My daughter suffers to no end. Her stomach always feels full, She is nauseated 24 hours a day, ZOFRAN does not even help any more. She coughs and vomits up bile.
i am on celexa and ambien and just stoped Klonopin.i have been on Lithium,Wellbutrin and xanex in the past year....
Went backwards, hit my head on a brick, broke at least one toe, soaked in Epsom salts, bloody and foot swollen, butt and side throbbing, goose egg on my elbow. Confused. **** this hurts. Back to like my bike wreck. I feel so awful right now. **** **** ****. Thought I had this under control. Apparently not. My foot hurts so bad. My head is swollen. Kids made me stay up until they were assured I didn't have a concussion. Oh. I forgot how much it hurts to fall. Glad my bones are relatively strong.
The depression didn't start lifting until about 6 weeks later and that's about the same time that they started me on Celexa. Thank heavens for Celexa and thyrogen - maybe it will make this time easier (*if* I can get the thyrogen for treatment dose). Oh, and the after effects from the RAI aren't much fun either (arthritis, bone pain, weight gain . . .
I feel like ****!! Nausea, just threw up!! Dr. gave me zofran, and celexa for depression..they were not sure if nausea is from meds or from depression.. So we have both ends covered.. I got it rough right now, as I threw up as just writing this!! Nerves man!! I hope the battle gets better!!
It is like I will have one day without pain and nausea and then the next the pain and nausea is back. I guess I am to impatient. No I am not taking high powered pain meds. because they do make me nausea. I take tylenol and ibuprofen, but it does not help. I take phenegran at night which helps me sleep. It took 6 times in hospital and 6 CT scans and it did not show up the way it was twisted. So I had exploratory surgery on Jan 21, 2011 and then Major surger on Feb 10th 2011. I am 70 years old.
I HAVE to them, if not I do throw up over 8-10 times a day. I could try to stop the antidepressants the Celexa and the Ambien, but my bipolar takes over, my insomnia kicks in, and I had some post pardum depression with Jack, that scares me. When I had Jack I wasn't sick. I got very ill when he was 1, thats when it started. My nutrition isn't good, due to my nausea, I get sick so much my hair falls out in clumps sometimes, and I vomit so much I vomit blood at times.

dextrose, methylprednisone, to reduce swelling, and Zofran (for nausea, and also an HT3 antagonist, I later learned... Tramadol is also a mild SSNRI). I fell asleep praying. I was discharged later that day, told to take Benadryl, and follow up w/ my physician. My parents dropped me off at my apt. and went to get lunch. I thought the worst was over. This is when it all started up again.
When I quit mine out of nowhere after a few days I went CRAZY and started crying and weeping and felt like my life was worthless and I wanted to die and that is NOTHING like me at all. Going cold turkey like that and not cutting down DESTROYED me but I thought I didn't need them anymore. So now I take them faithfully - I mean I was a wretched basket case when I went off.
The pacer helped it use to be more like 17-18 times a day. I also have a port so I can give iv. fluids, iv. zofran, and iv. phenergan at home myself. Home health comes once a week to change my needle in my chest. Its just hard and its starting to get to me. Iv. fluids and prenatals are my babies life line. I was on birth control, but still got pregnant. I knew I was to sick to try to have more kids, but it happened and here I am. This pregnancy is killing me, its just so hard on me.
Good Morning Tramadol Warriors, Welcome to the room, snuggle down and make yourself comfy. You can quit tramadol. You can stop. You can recover. I believe in you!
My plan was also to try and taper down, and eventually quit all together. I take three a day, and to try and taper down to two is killing me. I just cant seem to get down to two, let alone one. I have to go through some kind of W/D through the day if I want to get down to two. Is that Ok? how long should I go through the W/Ds in the day to not take that third pill? I also have my orignal pain that goes along with the W/D pain, what do I do with that?
I take protonix and zofran for the upper Gi upset and the zofran from the dry hives. Nothing works like the subs.
But by the second month it was mostly the depression, and now that's been taken care of with Celexa. Still very low in energy, but I am still working. Right now I'm bringing a customer live on new interfaces. (Yes, I'm in -- gasp! -- IT.) Hang in there!
I know they were not helping me, especially with my pain, so I stopped them, with the celexa 'taper' ............. these drugs really hijack the brain. And I want mine back. I believe I could be having wd symptoms from both drugs simultaneously. I take 30 mg hydrocodone daily, on a schedule, so I don't think I am having hydro wds. I have been through that before, and I don't think that is what this is at all .............. this is much worse.
counts went very low and was on weekly shots of Procrit and taken off Tx entirely for 2 weeks at one point. I was so sleepy and exhausted and my heart raced doing normal activities. Thankfully my blood profile has improved but here is the problem: my hair is still falling out like crazy,i lost 27# & still have no appetite,my mind is not clear-had to stop work thruout Tx, i still feel incapable of working or socializing.
I still have my problems and am still looking for answers. Doctors though it was stress, but I took paxil and celexa. They seemed to help a little in a way I cannot decribe, but these are very unpleasant medications, I stopped taking them. I think stress may have helped to form this condition, but I need help. I don't have all of the symtoms your husband has, but everyday is a fight. I wish I could do more but right now I don't know what to do.
Was Rx'ed Zofran, Xanax, and celexa..Threw it all up...I lost 10 lbs in six days, and Dr ordered me to stop tx.. I began researching immediately, and asking questions.. What I found is about the consensus around all the forums, and all the sites.. Pegysus is easier to tolerate. I am doing shot three tonight, of my Pegysus copeg cocktail, and I feel a world of difference. Anxiety and mind **** still present, but in spells. This I can do!! The other, was like rat poison!!!!
Switching to Celexa will not necessarily have any effect on Paxil withdrawal; they don't work the same, and the Celexa might not work for you. Remember that for whatever reason, Paxil tends to be stronger than other ssris. Also, what you're suffering sounds like Paxil withdrawal to me. It might go away now that you're back up to your regular dosage -- you dropped in dosage too quickly.
