I am concerned in that because is elderly that he is being medicated for something neurological they were unable to diagnose. I had an elderly friend of the family whom my mother knew. He was in the hospital and he had some blood loss after surgery. He started talking incoherently because of this and they almost gave him Risperdal for "psychosis". Of course my mother stopped them and he did not have any "psychosis" but imagine if she hadn't.
Should I go ahead and drop again to 45mg or stick on this a little longer and let the celexa completely leave my system. The reason being is that I have read that coming off of Celexa can take months for it to leave your system, I've been off about 2 weeks, and that it can cause anxiety too.
I received some incredible help on here the last time and even though my taper stopped for a while, I think finding this site and getting down from such a high amount may have already saved my life.
i took a day off cuz the celexa is making me have anxiety's..the pharmacy's told me if ur a anxious kinda person than it will do that!! how long does that part of it last?? been on it 11 days..
you love him for better or worse, sickness and health, taking the pressure off sex and focus on how you can make each other feel good and happy. I am sure that he is suffering a blow to his ego and that with the medication and stress can make it hard to give the attention to the sexual part of a relationship. Be happy, love uncontrolably and see a doctor.
I am convinced that my Celexa is a major culprit in my weight gain. Before Celexa, I was on Zoloft, and the first week on Zoloft I lost weight, but then stabilized and slowly began to gain weight. the weight gain was not a big amount but it did happen.
Then a few yrs later, I began having problems on Zoloft so my Doc switched me to Celexa, and "whamo!", BIG WEIGHT GAIN! It was amazing!
On top of the weight gain, Celexa has made me lethargic and very tired.
Celexa is one of the SSRIs, of which there are quite a few, and they all have slightly different effects for different people.
My shrink has tried me on five SSRIs for panic plus PVCs. Celexa was one of them, and it worked quite well for me; that is, it is an SSRI that I found very calming. Boy, did I sleep well on that one!
I'd recommend trying Celexa (there is a newer version called Zoloft).
most clinics are dead set agents the use of benzos and methadone together ....at the time of induction I was on xanex and the clinic use to pitch a fit every time a u/a came back positive for it....I would always have to get a letter from the prescribing doctor stateing that it would be ok to take both at the same time...they even threaten to pull my take homes because of it once...the celexa not a problem my concirn lyes with the clonipine ......
First, it takes as long as it takes--for most it's about 4-6 weeks, but for some it's much sooner. You don't want to take Ativan except as needed, because it's an addictive drug, so don't take it regularly, just when you absolutely need it, just as the doc said.
I still ahve anxiety, my doctor gave me Celexa which is okay, my question is, is it okay to take Xanax and Celexa together? I used to take Xanax too for panic attacks, and for now I know it will make me feel better. Does anyone know if they can be taken together? I have never been hooked on Xanax at all, so that is not a problem.
t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose.

When that did nothing for the insomnia and resulting panic, I went to a regular doctor the next day and he prescribed Celexa and Klonopin. I did sleep last night, thankfully.
My question now is, can I take one of these low dose Xanax today? I started the Celexa last night and took 1 mg Klonopin to sleep. I just want to feel normal again.
I've taken three benzos, but not that one. But using benzos for sleep isn't the best idea, as they're so easy to become addicted to if you take them regularly, and insomnia tends to get worse with continued use of medication for sleep. I would especially try to wait it out as you're not anywhere near a therapeutic dose of the Celexa yet, and it might make you sedated when you move up. If the Celexa works you won't need the Ativan much.
I have taken Celexa 20mg with Klonopin with excellent results. Normally your doctor wants to wait 4-6 weeks to see if the 20 mg does the job for you, and if not he will increase the dosage. This is how long it takes for the Celexa or any anti-depressant to reach therapeutic level. You will be able to wean off the Klonopin, once your anti-depressant starts working, but I continued on both, and still take the Klonopin with Citolopram.
I was just worried that with the diarrhea and feeling less hungry on the celexa I might start losing again..I work at home and I am a hairless guinea pig breeder but I have two special needs kids and they are twins...plus I have a older child..and when they get home at 4 I need to concentrate to help them do their homework...it's so hard for the twins as they were born very early and they struggle so much...so it does work out medicine wise that way.
