discharge

Avatar n tn Ever since than i have been having brown discharge before my period. Somtimes it it very lite and sometimes it can be very dark. When i do have my period it only lasts for a couple days. And after that i am normal until about five days before my period. Is there somthing wrong with me?
Avatar f tn Yes it's normal. Brown blood in your discharge is old blood...which is pretty common to have just before starting your period...getting rid of what was left in there before your new period begins.
Avatar f tn Hi, Brown discharge is usually the result of old blood. An irregular period or delayed (late) period can often shed older tissue that will begin with a darker burgundy or brown appearance because of the older cells being expelled during the start of your period. Bleeding during or after masturbation shouldn't be considered normal; you either need to use a water based lubricant, or be more gentle during masturbation.
Avatar n tn I am 22 and I have been on the pill for about 2 1/2 years now... my period is very regular and I have pretty much never had spotting. For the first time today I have a rather thick brown discharge that I've never seen. I'm expecting my period in 3 days or so and it is just worrying me, I dont know if i can wait 3 more days to make sure i'm not pregnant. I have occasionally gotten brown discharge after my period but never before...
Avatar n tn I've read that a few days before your period its normal to have some brown discharge (old blood)- and thats what it looks like to me, but is it normal this far before having your period?? Is there something else this can be attributed to?? I am sexually active and I did miss a pill or 2 this month (which I took later or the next day to catch up). Is there a way to tell this discharge apart from implantation bleeding (just in case!!
Avatar f tn I'm 17 years old and I've been on birth control for a little more than a year and a half. I've had brown discharge before but not the week before my period, but during my ovulation. I'm a little confused as to what this means because it's never happened to me before and if I should go see a doctor about it. As of right now, it seems that the discharge is slowing or stopping I can't figure out which one at this point in time.
Avatar f tn Unlikely. Brown discharge is old blood and often will precede or follow a period. There are a lot of things that can cause problems conceiving. Are you ovulating, do you have a proper luteal phase length, age can play a factor, certain hormone levels in your body. Have you seen a doctor?
1978961 tn?1378159311 So i was wondering yes i know brown discharge can happen before your period and after as your body gets rid of old blood. But for me ive never had brown discharge before my period . So 9 days before im suppose to start my period i went to wipe and realized it was brownish. so i decided to put a tampon in. and 3 hrs later i took it out. It was brown. Weird for me since this hasnt happened before. I want to know is this a symptom of pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Brown discharge is old blood which most women get before and just after a period is finishing, it is nothing to worry about and i really don't think you are pregnant.
Avatar n tn so do u think its normal to have brown discharge about 10 days before period for only 1-2 days? and i dont have my period yet dont know whats wrong cant ask anyone please anyone help....
Avatar n tn Every once in awhile, right before my period, I will have a dark brown dishcharge when I wipe after I go pee. It is also there after my period as well. It doesn't hurt or itch but it does smell a little bit. I thought it was just "old" blood, but I'm not so sure because of the way it smells. Any suggestions on what it might be?
Avatar f tn Well, Could you possibly have been pregnant and having a chemical (which means super early) miscarriage?? Brown discharge is usually old blood. The chunks are odd too. Can you go to your doctor about this dear? That might be the best thing at this point. Especially if this continues. Does it itch at all?
Avatar n tn I saw another post about this but it does not answer my question as my situation is a bit different. The past couple months I noticed a brown discharge after my period. It happens 1-2 days after my period. I think I've had some light brownish before, but this is different. It's darker and it smells bad. But then it goes away. Is it something to worry about? I don't have any symptoms of infection. my periods haven't changed.
Avatar f tn well brown discharge is old blood, so maybe your period is tapering off, usually when your pregnant and you miscarry especially around when your period is due its usually like your normal period, was your period late at all ?
Avatar n tn I'm in the same vote at the moment was just wondering what yours turned out to be? It's about a week before my period and a week ago I had a brown lite discharge for 5 days it's finished now but I'm still concerned. Iv been on the same pill for 4 years and never bad anything like this I'm not stressed or have any change to my diet, it's probably nothing but just a bit concerned any help would be great.
Avatar n tn As long as it's brown I hear it's okay as old blood.
Avatar n tn Wait a week between sets of tests as you're not likely to get different results within a few days. Brown blood is just old blood, however, blood that's been up there a little longer (remember how blood is blue and changes color in response to exposure to oxygen?). If it was like a normal period aside from that and not just spotting, most likely you have no possible pregnancy to worry about.
Avatar f tn my 17 year old daughter is not sexually active (I'm positive) and has a medium amount of dark brown discharge (enough for a pad larger than a pantie liner) and it is one week before her period is due. The discharge is thicker in some spots and dryish, like stool, but is definitely coming from the vaginal area. It does not look or smell the same as stool or her period, so we know it is not either of those two options. Please let us know what this could be??
Avatar f tn Im 21 years old and i just had my period a week ago and now I got home from the gym and I was bleeding brown blood. Thats never happened to me before. What does this mean? Should i be worried?
Avatar f tn well its hard to say brown blood is old blood dark red is usual normal for a period so you might be just having a lite period or it might be a sign a pregnancy since your period is usual you should take a pregnancy test bleeding won't effect the results
Avatar n tn I have always had the brown discharge before my period then a day after its usually red blood and heavy. Well I have the flu and running high temp and today's my second day and I'm starting to have some bleeding seems the more I walk around the more it comes but with the flu u jus feel like Layin around. But I do have the red bleeding now do I have a reason to be worried?
Avatar f tn Haha calm down.every girl has trhe same question. it's funny because you always feel awkward asking someone.but I used to get the after my period.take a p.
Avatar f tn Hi, brown discharge is old blood. From whatever happened during the rough sex and after, that is probably the remnants of it. You've had a pap smear so that is good. If it continues, see your doctor again and look into a hormonal imbalance such as too much progesterone production.
Avatar f tn Hi, The brown blood/discharge is completely normal and usually happens at the beginning or end of your period. It's the body cleaning out the old blood and you really can't stop it from happening. I've also read numerous posts and agree myself, that it does seem to have more of a bad odor to it.
Avatar f tn It could also mean that for whatever reason during your last menses the entire uterine lining failed to make a timely exit. This brown vaginal blood with discharge can also be due to your old blood retained after periods. Other causes could be polycystic ovarian syndrome, diseases of pituitary gland, hormonal imbalance of estrogen and progesterone and uterine abnormalities like fibroid and cervical dysplasia.
