Blood in mucus during pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Blood in mucus during pregnancy

blood

It's not in excess amount of blood or discharge, in fact, I haven't experienced blood from releasing a stool in quite awhile, it's more so just mucus now. Could this have been due to pregnancy? (I have carried low throughout the entire pregnancy, and now that I've dropped it's unbelievable). So I do experience a lot of constipation, and when I finally CAN go on days that I have no issue going, I go several times throughout the day, spread hours apart usually. What does this sound like?
I had an infection once that looked identical to my mucus plug, it looked like someone blew their nose (sorry tmi haha) and it was an infection, I only got it once during pregnancy. But infections can cause your mucus plug to dislodge some too.
I didnt use the bathroom from 2 weeks, then after forcing myself to go, I started seeing just blood in the toilet...hemroids, I'm sure. After several weeks of this I then started seeing mucus mixed with blood. I've recently been able to eat better so I am having runny bowel movements (taking metamucil as well) but my concern is the constant urge to go and only passing bloody mucus. I went to the bathroom 16 times yesterday!
That was two days ago but since then I haven't had any bleeding. Is this kind of thing normal? this is my third pregnancy and I've never had any problems during the first two. I'm 28 years old and I had my last baby 6 years ago. Please do enlighten me. This situation is scaring the wits out of me. I'm continuing with the bedrest. Could this have any negative effects of the baby's development? I hope to God this will not lead to a miscarriage.

I had sex with my hubby on June 4 one day after my LH level had been detected as positive on June 3, but the period came on time on June 19 and all the pregnancy tests turned out to be negative including the negative blood test for pregnancy at facility. So I assumed I was not pregnant.

the doctors say it is easy to have an erosion on the cervix that can bleed a little during pregnancy. unless you are in awful pain and bleeding heavy you are ok. my sister had a rush of heavy bleading and lost some big clots at 10 weeks. katelin is now 10 yrs old. dont fret about it its all normal. people can have periods all through there pregnancys. after having an early miscarrage, let me tell you...
So much to tell you...FIRST - lower than 15 level of progesterone in early pregnancy is NOT a "sure sign of a miscarriage." SECOND - some people should really just learn to keep their mouths shut. Not only are they freaking you out for no reason, but they don't even know what they're talking about! When i had my progesterone checked the first time it was 13.5 (at a/b 6wks or so). I started taking Prometrium (3x a day orally) and after a week my progesterone was 336!
I noticed blood in my cervical mucus for the first time ever. It was also a pinkish color, and then I had some with brown blood in it. I have never experienced anything like this.

i lost mine in peices too, it never had blood in it, it looked similar to how you described, like snot, but from the first time i lost the first peice, labor started 7 weeks later, sorry thats not what you wanna hear, im sure you will go much faster, how far are you?
I am 39w 2d and my partner and I had sex and after I went to the bathroom, when I wiped it was like mucus like with some brownish/red blood, not tons but enough to notice..Im not sure if it was my mucus plug or if it was mine/his *** with some blood from the sensitivity of the cervix . I have bled before after sex due to the cervix being sensitive during pregnancy but Im just not sure if it was my mucus plug or the other thing. What do you guys think?
I am having abdominal pain, back pain and a mucus discharge with blood in it that reminds me of the mucus plug you lose during pregnancy. I have the Mirena IUD and have had it for 10 months. I got it inserted August of 2011. I am having pregnancy symptoms but don't think I could be pregnant. Me and my Fiance John have sex alot, and I have noticed a decrease in my sex drive, but I have been having sex because I think it makes him happy. I enjoy it but its painful during intercourse.
You can loose your mucus plug numerous times during pregnancy. I lost mine from week 24 up until I deliveres. It actually regenerates itself. If it is mixed with blood though that usually indicates that labor will be happening soon.
Normally during human pregnancy, the mucus is cloudy, clear, thick, and sticky. Toward the end of the pregnancy, when the cervix thins, some blood is released into the cervix which causes the mucus to become bloody. As the woman gets closer to labor, the mucus plug discharges as the cervix begins to dilate. The plug may come out as a plug, a lump, or simply as increased vaginal discharge over several days.
I lost my mucus plug twice during pregnancy so far. Once like at 20 weeks and second at 28.
I ignored it, but then later I went again and and had it again, but this time I had to wipe twice to get rid of it and this time it was pink in color. Could this be the mucus plug so soon?
The mucus plug is usually clear, slightly pink or blood tinged in color. It can be stringy mucus or a sticky discharge. http://www.*****************.org/labornbirth/mucusplug.
normally its lodged there until you pee.so will aim in loo.I lost 2 big globs of it.like jelly with blood etc in it.(TMI) but I lost 2 at 37 weeks.and honestly thought this is it.but here i am now.had 3rd sweep done yesterday, then last night lost more of plug, not as big,and today had a show.ha but no show of baby yet.
My question is, was the spotting/bleeding from having sex, or was it from losing part of my mucus plug? I've never spotted during/after sex before, and I've BD'ed just as much as I normally do before I got pregnant, so this is new to me, any advice??
Sorry, I don't know what painkillers are safe during pregnancy but if you get that mucus plug out of your sinus cavity you'll be pain free immediately!
I had everything you just mentioned when I first found out I was pregnant. Although it can happen it it not supposed to. Blood during pregnancy is scary but can be normal in some women. It sure was with me. I had lots of bleeding. everytime the doctor would ask me to come in for an exam just to be sure everythign was ok. My daughter has since arrived but pregnancy was hard. I would contact your ob and let them know of your bleeding and passing of mucus.
I agree with the previous poster that it is possible, but unlikely, to ovulate during one's period. But something else to also keep in mind -- pulling out doesn't work. The secretions the man has at the beginning (enough to get ... um,,, shall we say, upright) also have the capacity to get a woman pregnant, whether he pulls out before orgasm or not. Do talk to your girlfriend, not just "do you think you're pregnant?
