Avatar n tn Does anyone here have detrusor sphincter dyssynergia or urinary retention and if so how are you treating it?
Avatar m tn Is Oxybutynin dangerous to dogs? I am not sure my dog ate a pill, but I did drop 1 or 2 on the floor. I found one. My 6-month-old spaniel/lab mix is about 30 lbs.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar n tn I looked that up and it is used for bladder problems. I didn't really see it can be used in dogs, much less the dosage, but it can cause a variety of side effects. I wouldn't try that on my own.
Avatar f tn Get your urologist or GP to prescribe you an anti-spasmodic medication. I use Oxybutynin, as it works best for me, but there are numerous others on the market. Are you sure your stone is 4cm??? That's awfully large for a kidney-stone. There are 'staghorn' stones that form inside the kidney itself and fill the cavities of the kidney (the 'poles' of the kidney) that may get that large, but the chances of having a 4cm stone in your bladder are slim.
Avatar n tn Its unclear whether your symptoms are getting better spontaneously, or a result of either the Oxytrol patch, your changing hormonal status, or some other unknown variable. There is no known hormonal modifying effect on bladder symptoms. You are a mystery, but your symptoms are resolving. I would not label you as having IC, and I hope you don't get it.
Avatar f tn ve been through testing for uti, std, bladder cancer (cystoscopy) but yet know one can give me an answer as to why I always have the urge. I've taken meds (flomax, oxybutynin, and diptromin) none of them worked. Help!!! I'm to young for this to be happening.
461014 tn?1233100391 My 6yr old still has issues with wetting the bed at night and having accidents during the day. We have had her tested quite a few times in the past few years for bladder infections and we have even tried Oxybutynin. The doctor can never seem to find any "problems" that are causing her to have these accidents. He just says she should out grow it. But it's only seeming to get worse. She wets the bed almost everynight and she's been having more than one accident a day at school.
1335869 tn?1275658008 ve had more than a few catheters in my time, and I can relate to what your husband is feeling. Overactive-Bladder or Urinary Urgency is quite a common feeling when a catheter is present, in my experience at least. Ask his Urologist for a Urinary/Bladder antispasmodic.
Avatar n tn I am a 42 year old female who experience pain after urination that last approx 5 to 10 minutes, I have had a bladder scan and no abnormalities was reveal and was placed on Oxybutynin 5mg twice a day and phenazopyridine hcl 100mg three times a day for a month now and the same pain continues. Why do I experience pain after urination.
Avatar f tn hello I also have I.C. and have had a full hysterectomy over a year ago and I think that's what caused mine I love how you put how you feel me to, I can't remember the last time I felt good I take Elmiron 100mg and Oxybutynin it helps alot and Pyridum it turns your pee orange and stains panties but takes the burn out of it when I pee.
Avatar f tn Also I urinat about 20 times a day and about 15 times at night yes I have tried vesicare and oxybutynin. I also have just had a bladder distention but all this was going on before the bladder distention.
Avatar n tn Put this question on to the Expert/Doctor forum for a better answer, I am wondering if the med is making it woorse so take her back and tell the Doctor what you have said here, ask him can she come off the med or differant dosage or take something else.
Avatar m tn My kid had his Nephrectomy (right) at his 1 year age and is adviced to undergo Urodynamics for analysing his bladder capacity. Need to know at what age is a urodynamics study suggestable in children. We feel like he is too young to undergo this study. Also, we are now using Oxybutynin - 2.5 mg per day through which he is able to sustain for 3 to 3.5 hours. If we stop using that, the child starts a little drizzling in drops. We are using this medicine since last 1 year.
1831849 tn?1383228392 utm_campaign=medpage%2Biphone%20app Second is kind of a double edged sword. The FDA has approved over the counter sale of Oxytrol, a drug aimed at overactive bladder. They have approved it for sale to women bu not men. Men will still require a presciption. (I guess we're too stoopit.) While OTC access may make the drug easier to get, removing it from prescription benefit coverage may make it more expensive. http://www.medpagetoday.com/OBGYN/UrinaryIncontinence/37004?
Avatar f tn after 6 weeks of investigation we are no further on he now has a supra pubic catheter and suffering severe bladder spasms he has to use oxybutynin 3 times aday plus codeine, paracetamol, brufen. and when in hospital he had oramorph. the plan is to kick statr his bladder by clamping and unclamping but how can we do this when the poor little boy is in such pain please help me have you ever come across this condition before or have you any suggestions. all his scopes, biopsys, mri scan.
Avatar f tn Hi all, a bit about my history, have had an overactive bladder treated for about last 20 years with oxybutynin and whilst not perfect, everything was fine to live a normal lifestyle, play sports, gym, go out drinking etc, I’m now 38, male. A couple of years ago I felt like what was a trapped nerve around my coccyx area and was unable to sit down for a couple of days, the pain was excruciating.
359574 tn?1328360424 A very thorough caring doctor, she was. My urodynamic testing was good--not retaining urine, don't have a floppy bladder, no stress incontinence problems. My physical exam with her today was also normal--nothing prolapsed, equal sensation on both side of my body, OK pelvic muscle strength, but could be improved. The whole problem is the bladder contracting inappropriately.
Avatar f tn However, there seem to be several relevant points here and one is that with no uterus, you may have little support for your bladder as well as any overactivity of your bladder. I understand you have a lot of pressure on your bladder and urethra. I also have this as well, however, for me there is an element of pressure from the bowel that is agrivating the situation. Do you feel this could be an additional problem for you?
Avatar f tn Udkas, I am not a urologist but It sounds like you may have incomplete bladder emptying or urthreral narrowing. I think the first thing to do is get an ultrasound done with a full bladder, then another after they allow you to void and the will confirm or deny incomplete bladder emptying. Depending on the results the next step should be a scope of your bladder. It will show any narrowing as well as check out you bladder.
Avatar m tn To start, I'm 24 year old Caucasian male. Been having these issues since I was 15. I don't drink alcohol, coffee, and have never have been sexually active. I'm also a healthy weight. When I was a sophomore in high school, I started to have a bit stress incontinence after urinating. I ignored this until it got was months later when in addition to the incontinence, I was having was I would describe as this slight leaky/urge feeling that varies in intensity and duration after urination.
Avatar m tn itchy sensation in the urethra of my penis that feels like i need to pee. when i pee, i dont have any pain, blood or discharge, but when done peeing, it feels like i still need to go. the more i try to go the more the itchiness seems to intensify. if i dont go, it usually goes away or decreases after 1-2 hours. at this point, when i start feeling i need to go, i know this is real and that i really need to go. but after do, it all starts again, the itchiness is back and it runs in this circle.
Avatar n tn Evista for osteoporosis, Tenormin, (as a beta blocker),for Migrane headache, Cinestin - an estrogen replacement (I had a complete Hysterectomy in 1991), Vesicare and Oxytrol for my neurogenic bladder and Tylenol with codine for acute pain. I recently had blood work and my WBC was slightly elevated at 11, RBC, Hemoglobin, and Hematocrit were slightly low and my lymphocytes were above 5000, (high normal is 3900).
Avatar n tn Urinary tract infection, side effects of medications( those with caffeine and diuretics), neurological diseases, tumors or abnormalities in the bladder, inflammation of the prostate or prostate cancer , nerve damage caused by trauma, or bladder outlet obstruction due to previous surgery for incontinence. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm really desperate to figure out what is happening with me. At the beginning of August I began to experience sharp pain while urinating and sometimes sharp pain that comes and goes on my lower right side. I had my yearly gyno exam and they tested my urine and it was fine. For about 15 years the doctors have been saying I have endometriosis so my gyno recommended a laparoscopy because he felt the pain was coming from the progression of endo. I had that done on August 25th.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with lyme disease 2 to 3 years ago. I do not know how long I had it. I do not recall a tick bite that year. I do live in the country & have an outside dog so I have had tick bites before. This last year has been horrible for me. I cannot tolerate heat at all. My AC is set on 68 at the highest. I have what I call episodes when I get hot. I get very fatigued, dizzy, nauseous & the world spins. The best way I can describe it is being drunk almost to the pass out point.
359574 tn?1328360424 One was at work and my darling hubby brought me fresh jeans. I think the medicine, oxybutynin chloride, has just started to be helpful in the last week or two. It's not drying me out excessively. I just wake up with cotton mouth, but when I'm up and about and can drink when I want, that's OK. As long as I can sing. It hasn't made the constipation worse.
Avatar f tn Hi all! I was recently put on the 12mcg per he patch by my pain managment doc. After a wek of withdrawal he upped me to 25mcg per hour. I have been on it for 6 days ( 2 patch cycles) and am still in full withdrawal. I have an adhesive allergy and altho I'm not breaking out I. Hives or having a visible reaction is it possible that my body is just not absorbing the medication? Has anyone else had a similar issue?
