Avatar m tn Green tea and green tea supplements have become very popular in the last few years and have been touted as a panacea for many illnesses. While drinking green tea may be beneficial, there is less evidence to support the use of green tea extract, which is often marketed and used for weight loss. While there is some evidence to support this, there may be some risk. In a Clinical Observation published in The Annals of Internal Medicine (2006; 144: 68-69), Dr.

While I have tested for things that I know I'm sensitive to and the tests come back negative for "true" allergies, I know I can't tolerate coffee, black tea, green tea or white tea.
Avatar f tn I actually heard that green tea is not a great idea. I TTC for 8 months before resorting to IVF and drastically tried to cut down my caffiene intake during that time. I was advised by my acupuncturist to drink black or red tea only and not that much of it. Honestly though I don't think any of this makes a huge difference. I tried everything and nothing worked for me, I am a healthy 31 year old who was eventually diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility'.

Avatar f tn Any tea that is decaf is okay. Black tea has the highest caffeine and green tea is middle, while herbal is least. Also, as long as you are drinking a lot of water in addition to caffeine, you are fine. But anything decaf is perfectly fine.
1495281 tn?1305307348 A bazillion Chinese and Japanese have been drinking it for centuries, so it must be good! There is no evidence to suggest it is harmful to thyroid. If anything it is a great calming drink, helps with feeling full after a meal, hence why the Asians use it after a meal, not many fat Asians till they get on a western diet! So drink up! It's all good!
Avatar f tn Green tea is suposed to have wonderful health benefits. But you definitely don't want a tea with caffeine in it. My LLMD said no caffeine with Lyme. Be sure to take Vitamin D and C. Both are necessary for good immune function, which you really need right now.

Avatar m tn First, milk has been proven in study after study to have no effect whatsoever on mucus production. So, drink as much milk as you want. Sugary drinks don't cause mucus or half of America would be walking around with "snot hanging to the ground". Mint tea won't fix an allergy or infection, and elderberry supplements are voodoo. There isn't a properly conducted study proving any of these to have effect. SO, NOW FOR THE INTELLIGENT ANSWER....
Avatar f tn You should rest for a few days, go to bed early take daily vitamins high in vitamin D at least 1,000 IU per serving. A cup of green tea made very strong (2 tea bags) 2 times a day for 2 days. Green tea is high in anti oxidants and as a natural anti viral. If its allergies, be sure to take note of any recent changes around the house. Has some one brought in flowers or recent unpacking of old closets or something unknowingly kicking up dust. What about places you go every other day.

Avatar f tn I read not to drink caffeinated beverages but nothing ever mentioned green tea specifically. For the last 3 and a half weeks, I have been drinking green tea (~ 2 cups a day) and am wondering if I have done any damage? Now that I know that green tea is a no-no, I will obviously stop drinking it but has the damage already been done??? Thanks!
