Allergies lymph node

Common Questions and Answers about Allergies lymph node

allergies

Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, but lymph node enlargement can be from many things. It could be from dental problems or a virus or bacterial infection, such as a throat infection, or from allergies. This time of year, allergies are a common culprit. If he has a sore throat or fever or mouth discomfort, or if there is a hot spot in his head or neck, he needs medical attention to check for an infection that needs treatment.
Avatar n tn My PCP says that I could test my allergies to see what allergies I specifically have but I am already on Zyrtec and Veramyst nasal spray that seem to help for my allergies and that would not solve the lymph node problem. He also said I could test my immune system to see if its over reactive but that wouldn't help treat the symptoms. He said to talk to my ENT again and see what he thought about the tonsillectomy again and see if it would at all possibly help.
Avatar f tn Usually, lymph nodes swell when your body has a reaction to a bacteria or virus. But they have to be a certain size like 10mm to be considered actually significant not pea sized or really small. If they are it is hard like a rock and not sore (usually) you may want to get it checked. Usually, they are spongy and roll around. If you have an infection they can be sore. It is somewhat easier for a very thin person to feel their body parts more than someone else.
Avatar n tn Yesterday I've discovered a lump under my right jaw line which I believe is a swollen lymph node. I've always had a very hard bean-shaped lymph node on the left side of my jaw about 1-2 cm in diameter, and now there's a elastic painless lump of about 5 cm in diameters on the right side. Before it developed I could hardly feel the lymph nodes on the right side of my jaw.
Avatar m tn Hi, I don't know much about lymphoma but have heard that having an enlarged lymph node for a while is often one of the first signs if not the only one. I've had a an enlarged lymph node for about a year or more on the right side of my neck near the back of my jaw. It's about 3/4 of an inch long and maybe a half inch wide usually though right now it is a tad bigger because I'm fighting off some sinus congestion.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have always suffered from health anxiety and about a month ago I grew a small lump on the left side of my neck. I was told that it was a lymph node but it seems odd it hasn't disappeared for a month now. It is sometimes sore but generally there is no pain, no fatigue and I am generally healthy. Currently, a pimple is growing right on the lump as well so I am wondering if that has to do with anything.
Avatar n tn Just swollen and achy but not a sore throat when swallowing. Also, the lymph node that is right at the base behind my ear that connects to my neck swells up from time to time and feels like a little squishy, moveable pea. Usually my nose and eyes ache/burn when all of this happens too. Can allergies cause all of this lymph node swelling? Or is this a side effect from my medicines? Or is this swelling (especially behind my ear) something to be concerned about?
Avatar n tn I actually for years have had a swollen lymph node on the side of my neck on the right side directly below the back of my jaw line. No pain or anything unless pressing hard. I actually have never really noticed it its normally pretty small and obsolete but i woke up this morning and it was a little harder and more noticeable which i think it has just swelled up a little.
Avatar m tn A reactive lymph node is actually good news. It just means that the node is reacting to a likely infection. If it was not reactive then you would have something more to worry about. I have never heard of nodes shrinking immediately after a biopsy, but perhaps it was just coincidence and it shrunk because the infection was minimal. Now that your node seems enlarged again, I have to wonder if you are fighting a bug that your body can't get rid of completely.
Avatar n tn ve also had a post-nasal drip for some time, frequent earaches, and the lymph node under my chin is swollen. It is also possible that a lymph node on the back of my neck may be swollen, but it's difficult to tell. I also have occasional pains in my neck around the swollen lymph node. I've been to the doctor twice. At first they thought it was a sinus infection, so I took a Z pack for 5 days and saw no improvement.
Avatar n tn A few weeks later I went to my primary care doctor because I was still feeling very fatigued, constantly am spitting up mucus and had a swollen lymph node under my jaw, it was squishy and movable. She said that my lymph node felt normal and she ran a whole bunch of tests (allergy etc.) This was a couple weeks ago and she still didn't call so and she said if she didn't call then all is well. However today I felt and I have two swollen lymph nodes under my jaw, toward my ear.
Avatar f tn Its most likely caused from a extensive amount of deodorant,or allergies and thats whats causing the lymph node to swell. But its best you go have it checked out if it does not subside soon.
Avatar n tn There is a prominent right jugulodigastric lymph node measuring 12 x 10 mm. There is a prominent left jugulodigastric lymph node measuring 12 x 7 mm. There are numerous small lymph nodes seen along the posterior triangle and along the carotid chain with none measuring larger than 5mm in short axis. There are bilateral small nodules within both parotid glands which are probably lymph nodes. There is a preauricular lymph node on the left measuring 1.0 cm in size.
Avatar n tn I was treated 11 years ago (at age 44) for and aggressive invasive breast cancer, had a left side mastectomy, all lymph gland removal on that side, and 6 months chemo. The removed lymph nodes revealed no cancer cells. All has been well until a recent MRI and ultrasound found an axilary lymph gland on the right healthy side was found to be enlarged. The elongated node is "burried in the chest wall muscle".
Avatar n tn Hi, i have undergone total thyroidectomy 2 years ago & had a papillary cancer removed. It was encapsilated in a large goiter. I have had radiated ablation for 2 years. I am having an operation on monday to remove several large cysts on my scalp & am aware that this cancer can spread to the scalp (they will be biopsied) so visited my endocrinologist prior to this.
Avatar f tn I recommend you go to the doctor. Hopefully you already have.

He gave medicine and time to time he change the medicine. but that medicine never work .i m so worried about it.i came to know that these are symptoms of hiv also. i m not sexually active. but few years ago for a week I m active .but always I used protection.
Avatar f tn Hi Allergic reactions seldom present with enlarged lymph nodes unless the allergies are drug induced or is simply associated with an underlying infectious process. The lump in the armpit and the groin may suggest that you need to have nearby areas of the body assessed. The enlarged node in the armpit may suggest infections in the chest especially in the areas of the breast and the arms. An enlarged node in the groin requires a complete pelvic examination.
Avatar f tn The ENT started that it could be thyroid cancer however was less likely due to the fatigue and normal thyroid levels and so he was not going to do a biopsy. He also downplayed the nodule and the lymph node enlargement although there is a noticeable lump on my neck/shoulder area as well as left neck enlargement. He said it could be Lyme (I do not go hiking or in the woods, no tick bite, and no bulls eye rash), autoimmune, or lymphoma. All of these are outside his area so sent me back to my PCP.
Avatar n tn What worries me is that in the past couple days I have developed a new swollen lymph node in my groin and another under my jaw. I have read that ARS will always manifest it self within 1-4 weeks from exposure and that any symptom occuring after that time would not be attributed to HIV infection. I wanted to ask if you consider the above statement to be true.
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old and there has been a lymph node in my neck just below the jaw line that has been enlarged for months or maybe even longer. It is really worrying me. It seemed to have went down a bit a few weeks ago but now it's back to it's enlarged size. A while ago, I got an ultrasound on the enlarged node and they said it didn't look too concerning. They said that my body just might be fighting an infection that I don't know about.
Avatar f tn Next day itchiness is not to bad. But feels awkward to urinate and still have white discharge qith a slightly puffed lymph node in groin. Confused about whether this is a yeast infection or an outbreak? Can an outbreak cause a discharge?
Avatar m tn t noticed any growth since first finding it to now. Another forum poster suggested this might not even be a lymph node that I'm feeling. I have seen 2 doctors about this bump...neither ordered tests after feeling the bump. A clinic doctor suggested that it was a normal size lymph node that I was feeling and she wasn't concerned at all. The second doctor I saw, who was an ENT felt it and said he didn't think it was a lymph node, but that it was a bone.
Avatar f tn And if we have been sick, the lymph node that has enlarged can last for a fairly long time. People can have a reactive lymph node after a vaccination. Some medications, while rare, can cause a lymph node to swell. And the obvious fear of things like cancer causing this. Remember, that for most people this is absolutely not the case but a thorough medical exam should be done. https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn I have recurring bronchitis and sinusitis, which I thought were caused by allergies. The doctor is sending me to a pulminary specialist. Can lymph node become enlarged? What does it mean?
Avatar f tn Im a 25 year old female smoker. I noticed last night that I have a small lump on the right side of my next towards the middle. The lump is under the skin and it feels like it moves a little or maybe its the skin moving over it. I was thinking it was a swollen lymph node but I haven't been sick or had any sort of infection. There is no pain at all which freaks me out! I do have night sweats some nights. Does this sound like something I should be worried about?
Avatar f tn I have been feeling awful for the last 6 months. It started with my lymph nodes feeling sore on both sides in my neck. My doctor said she didn't feel anthying. There are times when they are literally burning. Nothing showed up in my bloodwork and she doesn't feel anything in my physical exam. I feel like I have th flu. I am achy. I am draining and feel it through the sides of my neck. She put me on allergy medicine but it hasn't helped.
