Common Questions and Answers about Aldara questions

aldara

Avatar m tn I only have one very noticable one thats been there for months, and maybe one or 2 little ones that could have just showed up recently. I was given aldara to get rid of them i just had a couple of questions....1. how possible is it for the warts to spread into my urethra? would there be any warning signs of this happening? Im sopposed to wash the aldara off in the mornings...what would be the best way to do this?
Avatar m tn i think these questions best answered by ur doc unless someone comes on here whose been thru xactly what u've been!
Avatar f tn The area I am questioning was definately a wart, it was treated once with Acid and the treatment cleared it, it came back and was treated again with Acid- it cleared again, then it came back. Most recently I treated it with Aldara. I used the Aldara on it three times and now it seems to be gone again.
Avatar m tn hi , i would like to find out if i am currently on aldara immuqioud 5 % cream, and the skin is reddish can i stilll have sex, without the cream on.
Avatar m tn I have a few questions about using aldara. 1) is it harmful to shave on off days from using aldara? 2) Can shaving make the warts worse? 3) Is sex okay when the cream is not on the skin? Thank you!
Avatar m tn 1, does the cream cause a bit of itch even when it's been washed off or just when it's on? 2. i noticed what lookes like a "cut" near the perinem .around the anal opening..sort of like a small sore.. is that a side effect of the cream?
Avatar n tn 1) If the irritated areas were in fact Aldara acting on a wart would that be grounds to "reset the clock" and start counting to 6 months from 0? 2) This third bump where I once had a wart...if it has been there as long as 6 months (or at least the 4 I thought I was wart free) but just picked off, is this grounds for "starting the 6 month clock" again?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed aldara about 4 weeks ago but was not able to use it continuously because I also get the doctor to put podophilin on the warts when they are visible and that sometimes cause the irritation of the area, hence, I had to stop aldara for a few times already when that happened. I had my Pap Smear done 2 weeks ago and the test result was negative. I also had Gardasil vaccination last week. My questions are: 1. My gyno confirms that I don't have any warts inside my vagina.
Avatar m tn I have heard that the combo of Cryo and Aldara is effective. What have you seen to be most effective in no warts recurrences? These things you read about multi-vitamins and green tea being beneficial, would they truly make a difference? 4)-my GF and I had protected sex; she was a virgin and so I’m just wondering the likelihood of her getting HPV. The reason I ask is because I would want her to get the Vaccine asap.
Avatar n tn Ive been on aldara (imiquimod) 5% for approximately 2 months now. I cant notice if im seeing any improvement with my genital warts. However, ive developed a ridiculous rash around the application site. which is extremely red and irritated. The rash looks almost like if i ran really fast and slid my knee on a rug, except its around the base of my penis. Its sometimes itchy and i feel as if at sometimes its developing a particular scab. will this redness ever go away?
Avatar m tn Since I am traveling oversees for several months, I self-diagnosed, and bought a 1-month supply of Aldara 5% Cream from an OTC pharmacy, and have been applying that following the directions in the product insert (3x/week, overnight). What seems odd is that the shape of the 'bumps' are flat, only slightly raised, flesh-toned (i.e.
Avatar n tn 1. Two days subsequent to the biopsy, additonal warts appeared as pink/white bumps to either side of the biopsy site. Is it possible that the biopsy spread the infection? 2. My next appointment is a week-and-a-half away. My concern is that the new warts that have shown up will grow and spread without immediate, aggressive treatment. I have little faith in the Aldara to keep the warts in check given all that I have read.
Avatar n tn They are very small but many clustered with a few random ones on the lower part of my penis that popped up as recently as this week. I have been using Aldara for about 4 weeks with little skin reaction at all (not even redness). I have a two part question. 1. In your experience have you noticed Aldara be less effective depending on what part of the genital region it is applied? PI indicated 33% total clearance in males. I don't seem to be reacting to it at all. 2.
Avatar m tn Eventually I had them checked, they were warts and I had them removed and was put on Aldara. I used what my dermatologist gave me but I had no insurance so I never actually filled the prescription. The warts came back months later. I thought about the laser surgery which would be very expensive but the doctor put me back on the Aldara, which I filled this time, hoping it would take care of the problem.
Avatar f tn I really thought I was a healthy person until these bumps showed up! The doctor prescribed me Aldara cream and I just started using it last week, she said it can take up to 8-16 weeks for the warts to go away. They're small bumps though so I hope it wouldn't take that long. My question is, for anybody that has used Aldara cream before, how effective is it?
Avatar n tn i had genital warts on my penis treated by surgery 2 years ago. Before surgery i had them for over a year. I started treating them with aldara cream and at first they seemed to go away after about 6 or 8 weeks maybe. But they came back. This time they were resistant to aldara and they got pretty big and ugly. my urologist said we shoudl do surgery and send for pathology just to rule out cancer. anyways, they came back as condyloma.
Avatar f tn She told me nothing else was wrong with my anus and sent me on my way - with a prescription for aldara. I started using the aldara that night (friday). A week later I was still having difficulties and went to another doctor. This doctor gave me a thorough exam. He found two large fissures at the entrance of my anus and prescribed a cream to help them heal, he also told me to increase fibre. I asked him to look at the warts - he told me there was no evidence whatsoever of warts.
Avatar m tn t bother using Aldara if they recommend it - it has low success rates for mcv in adults. Trust me, I have had this for like 10 months and tried Aldara for nearly 6 months of it with only a few going away (which was probably coincidence). I just had them scrapped off the other day and it feels great not to worry about this anymore. Hit me up if you have any more questions - I have extensively researched mcv.
Avatar m tn 1. My dermatologist told me to apply the aldara liberally to make sure that even the tiniest warts in the area are treated. I have read elsewhere to only apply to the warts, but i have also read that aldara seems to respect healthy skin and only attacks unhealthy skin. Which is true and should i continue applying the aldara liberally to the entire areas. 2. The areas that have crusted and flaked are red and raw. Do i continue putting the aldara on those regions or should i stop?
Avatar m tn I first saw a doctor and they told me they could either freeze them off or I could use Aldara. I chose the latter and although I attempted to use it two different times for over a months period of time, it did not seem to work. On top of that, I have also tried using cider vinegar and freezing it off at home which has caused some scarring. I'm very embarrassed about seeing a doctor again about this so I have come to you guys for some advice.
Avatar n tn I had them frozen off to only return within a month or two. So I decided to try the prescription drug Aldara on the advice of a dermatologist after he tried applying some similar acting agent product in the office with limited results after 5 weekly visits. Within 1 week of treatment my genitals became extremely sensitive and red, I also experienced herpes like outbreaks on my lips and a general feeling of tiredness and malaise.
Avatar m tn 1. Should I wait and try Aldara Cream or just do the laser treatment, knowing that I didn't do any screening test?2. Can the genital warts get more spread after laser treatment since is in early stages of warts? 3. In future can Genital warts be cleared from my body and be able to get married with kids? 4. Is Co2 Laser Treatment is the best wart removal option? Hope to have suitable answers from you. Thanks in return.
Avatar f tn I would ultimately suggest you go to the nearest womans clinic, or if that's not available, see your physician. In the beginning I spent 100's of dollars on the acid burning procedure, and it didn't work. Then the cream was the next best thing, but if tha's not working, maybe freezing it?
Avatar n tn I was just diagnosed with genital warts, probably the worst news i had ever heard only because the amount of partners I had been with was very slim and my fiance is the only person that I did not use a condom with....anyways, i have several questions that keep running through my head and need some answers to hold me over till i talk to my doctors next. Once my outbreak goes away with the medicine my doctor prescribed me (Aldara) will they keep coming back monthly?
Avatar n tn I've recently had colposcopy biopsies. The Lab reports came back high grade squamous cells, Vain III. I really dont understand it, but evidently the bad cells are thru 3 layers of the vaginal wall. My dr prescribed Aldara vaginally, twice a week for 12 weeks. I've had my 4th treatment, and I'm not having fun. Within 24 hours after teatment I am crying in pain, muscle aches, joint pain, my skin over my whole body hurts. I also have vaginal itching, burning, but its not that bad.
Avatar m tn I recently went to the doctor to check out some bumps around my anus. He diagnosed them as warts caused by HPV. Of course I have tons of questions going through my head as to why? Or how? I understand there is a chance my immune system can suppress the virus. I am just starting my prescribed treatment of Aldara. My question is due to the location of the warts( no symptoms on penis or scrotum) is there a high chance of transmitting the virus through 'normal' vaginal intercourse?
Avatar n tn Is Aldara the best way to remove them? My gynecologist told me to use it when I insisted I wanted these removed. She gave me instructions to use the cream 3 times a week for 16 weeks. Should these be treated like genital warts if they are not? They skin tags are thin enough that I can pinch them off with my fingernails. Will this cream be a problem to apply due to how small they are? Is Aldara safe to use around the anus, where most of my tags are?
