The first possibility is of a boil or abscess in the area. The second possibility is of a perineal hernia. It is a hernia involving the perineum (pelvic floor), mostly found in men and often appears as a sudden swelling to one side (sometimes both sides) of the anus.
Second possibility which comes to my mind is of pilonidal cyst.
s and/or colitis since 2004, but have been very well for the last couple of years. I have recently developed a sore spot between my perineum and buttock. At first I thought it was just a septic spot, but it flares up every few days and bleeds loads - if I wasn't already wearing incontinence pads (for another condition) I would need to wear a sanitary towel. Could this be a fistula?
About 2 months ago I noticed a 'squishy' lump just above my anus, and my perineum is also VERY swollen. Neither are painful, and I only noticed this issue when washing.
At first I thought it was piles, so I treated with anusol cream and suppositories - at separate times, and still the problem persisted. Next, I tried soaking in sea salt. The 'squishy' lump started to shrink in size, but the swelling between my vagina and anus got worse.
I notice a grape size protruding red lump on my husbands perineum. He is to embarrassed to go to the doctor and said he has been suffering for about three weeks. He states it is very painful when he sits, stand and walks. It looks like it has abscessed in the middle being white and crusty. If someone could please contact me I have pictures for examination. I am so worried about him but he will not go to the doctor. Only thing I could convince him was to put Neosporin on it.
I also have an abscess on top of a varicous vein just inside my vagina so as you can imagine its quite sore to keep pushing. After all that time i managed to pass 2 tiny pieces. so i cleaned up and stood up to feel like my vagina was inside out... my perineum and labia was really swollen. After 15 mins i managed to have a number 2 and again after another half hour. The swelling has gone down alot but i still feel sore and dread going for a number 2 again....

My 9 month old cat recently had an abscess that burst on his side. I took him to the vet two days ago and he was put on amoxicillin. Today, right next to the burst abscess there is another abscess formed. There are not visible wounds so there is nowhere to drain from. He does not feel warm to touch on his nose or his ears. The vet is closed for two days and there are no emergency clinics near me. Please offer advice on how to help my Oliver.
you should make an appointment with your personal Physician for an examination. You state this lump is above the breast .... it could be an abscess but I'm not sure what you mean by "above" the breast. I might be an enlarged lymph node and that could indicate an infection but this warrants a hands-on

Hi I have a bump near the vagina since the last two years, only one and it stay the same not growing in size whatsoever. Ocassionally it fills up with pus and bleed too. I'm diabetic, have shown it to many gyno dr's they give cream and antibiotics but no healing. I don't understand what it is. Had tested for infections and I don't have any.
Men as well as women can get these problems in their private area and on the perineum. If the root or plug of the abscess is not removed, it will continue to fester.
Squeezing is not something that is advised to be done (even though we all try to squeeze things out), because this can spread any infection.
Heating up a spoon and placing the rounded part on the "pimple" can sometimes help to draw it to the surface.
Yesterday my husband, aged 54yrs had drainage of an abscess? diagnosed following ct scan for a lump between anus and scotum which tripled in size over the previous week. Has been in pain since the May 08 followup colonoscopy which led to bleeding for 2 days, and then a month of ++ bleeding in September. Severe pain - on Tramal twice per day plus paracetamol 4 x day.
I got this growth near the vagina and its the size of a pea. And when i pressed it. Its painful. But when I wanna squeeze it. It doesnt want to come out. Maybe it's not ripe? Not sure. For the past two days, I have a had an itchy perineum. The anus isn't itchy, just the perineum.

So about 3 weeks ago I had my perianal abscess drained and the healing process went quite well until about 1 week after the drainage small spots started to appear around my anus and near where the abscess was. My doctor prescribed me with a 1 week course of antibiotics which seemed to clear them up. However, more spots have started to appear but more itchy and painful and also when they burst the pain seems to ease.
So are these spots anything to worry about?
I have a recurring abscess on my right breast for almost 2 years now. I remember that I have a "white head/black head" on my chest so I picked it and removed it and I think it's where it all started. The abscess I got on the first spot on my breast lasted for 9 months (I had maybe 4 recurrence) but it healed on its own without taking any antibiotics or creams.
Last night I noticed same sensation/throbbing in the left side of my Perineum that I noticed last month in the right side. There is not lump in the perineum that I can classify as abscess, no changing of color, no swelling or anything. My 1 year old grandson had developed a Perianal Abscess and had a surgery under GA. Some 20 ml. pus was removed from a 5 cm deep cavity near anus at 01 O'Clock position and 1 cm away.The surgeon put a drain pipe which did not stay more than 1 day and then it was not replaced.He was given antibiotics for 2-3 days and kept under observation and sent home after 5 days.He was advised Betadine sitz bath after each poo. No other medication was prescribed.
