Abscess in gland

Common Questions and Answers about Abscess in gland

abscess

Avatar n tn It could be a blocked oil gland (chalazion) or infected oil gland (stye or meibomian gland abscess) Proably the best you can do at home is apply warm moist compresses and if no better tomorrow see an ophthalmologist (eye MD ) or optometrist.
Avatar f tn If the abscess has not come to a head yet, soak in a hot bath to help it come to a head. If the abscess keeps flaring up, it is likely that the root had not been removed or there is a blockage of the gland itself. If any abscess root is left, will just flare up again. Marsupialisation is a small operation that is the traditional treatment used to treat a Bartholin's cyst or abscess. This operation creates a small new permanent opening for fluid to drain out of the gland.
Avatar m tn An abscess is basically a build up of pus and infection in the jaw bone area. I assume that since you've seen a dentist recently, it probably would've been spotted at your last checkup as they generally develop from large cavities. There are abscess that also develop from gum disease as well but assuming you had a cleaning and check up, thats also a little more unlikely. Best to get it checked out and taken care of.
Avatar f tn For now, you should see your doctor for a prescription of antibiotics to get rid of any infection. If the abscess has not come to a head yet, soak in a hot bath to help it come to a head. 2212714 tn?1342258744 Has the Vet suggested surgery to remove the anal glands? I had a Sheltie years ago that had anal gland problems and eventually had an abscess. I opted for surgery to remove the anal glands and she and I were both happier after that. You may want to consider this.
Avatar n tn From what you are describing I would think it may be a Bartholin's cyst or abscess. The Bartholin glands are in the lower portion of the vagina and while the cyst isn't supposed to be painful, the abscess is and I would imagine if the cyst were big enough it would hurt. You may want to see your gyn about this. Also you can google Bartholin's cyst and you will get a lot of information.
Avatar m tn I am still feeling rubbish and my belly button in still very moist when i out my finger in and it does smell a bit. I have a gland up in my under arm now which is sore and also i have aches in my muscles and joints. (Not all the time). Any recommendations on what I should do as I still think this is linked to the abscess as it all started from when i first got it.
Avatar m tn Is it common to feel hard non tender movable lymph glades in the submandibular gland area? They are roughly size of a pea maybe little bigger. I can't feel like unless I look for them. Is this common I'm freaking out that there swollen?
Avatar f tn t an abscess can develop either visible from the outside or just inside the rectum. In that case, your dog will need some antibiotics.
Avatar f tn Other answers I found while searching for something to help me. t sounds as though you might have what is known as a Bartholin's abscess or cyst. There are glands in the vaginal lips called Bartholin’s glands. These can become painful and swollen, and an abscess can form. This often causes blockage in the main duct from the gland, and a cyst develops. This is felt as a painless, hard swelling.
Avatar n tn m not sure if its escaping from your gums and mixing with the saliva already present or if its coming from the parotid gland in your cheek. The reason why is because of your swelling on your cheek and not on the gums. You may want to go back to your dentist and he may want to "milk" the parotid to see if its infected.
Avatar f tn A lump that feels warm and is present on the side of the face (underneath where the earlobe attached to my face) could be a swollen lymph node or a chronically inflamed parotid gland or a parotid abscess (localized collection of pus) or an abscess not involving the parotid gland. This may need to be drained, treated with antibiotics and you must consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
Avatar f tn I had to get surgery due to the frequency and severity of the abscesses in my right armpit. The doctors removed my sweat gland and all of the skin that had hair. I have not had any more abscesses in that area since but continue to have them in other areas. Depression is common with the condition due to the painful, embarrassing nature of HS so it is important to monitor her for signs and symptoms. Hope this helps and best of luck.
Avatar n tn It is really difficult to comment without examining you. However it could be an abscess or an inflamed parotid gland. Both can result in swelling of lymph nodes of the same side of face. Please consult your PCP. You may need a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn The abscess didnt resolve and I started getting swelling in my cheek. They then recommended that #13 be extracted. That was done in early Sept. The abscess resolved and the extraction site healed good. But I still have swelling in my cheek. I had a 103 temp and enlarged lymph nodes in my neck, both sides in October. I went to ER and they gave me IV antibiotics and a script for Amoxicilian, during the other RCT and extraction treatments I was given Clindamycin.
Avatar f tn The blocked gland is called a Bartholin gland cyst. If the Bartholin gland or duct gets infected, it is called a Bartholin gland abscess.
Avatar n tn My jaw hurts underneath almost like a swollen gland. I also have canker sores inside my left side of mouth which I think is from biting the inside of my mouth while I sleep. What can I do for the pain. Is this TMJ or just stress?
Avatar f tn Anyone ever had bartholin cysts/abscesses??? It's the gland on either side of the vagina opening. I have been getting them for a few years, never needing medical attention, up until now (ER Friday night/Sat morning) AFTER seeing my physician and a GYN (I've always been told they're just bumps from waxing/shaving etc)...
Avatar m tn It could be local infection, may not be a lymph node bit a boil or abscess or there may be abscess in breast or even a lump in breast that needs to be investigated. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar n tn I am a 30 years old and married. About 4-5 years ago I had my first bartholin cyst. At the time I had no idea what it was so I took to google to find out. I discovered it was a Bartholin cyst and did what was recommended -- sitz baths. For days I repeated the sitz baths but it was only getting bigger and more uncomfortable. It got so big (size of a golf ball) and painful I had to go to emergency to get it drained. A couple months later I got another one.
