The common sites for abscess formation are groin s and armpits. Abscesses are caused by minor breaks and punctures of the skin, obstruction of sweat glands and oil glands, and inflammation of hair follicles. These abscesses contain dead cells, bacteria, and other debris, which causes inflammation and pain. The common bacteria are staphylococci but sometimes tuberculosis can also lead to abscess formation.
No obstructions or masses noted. Right kidney was clear. Incidental finding was I have some gallstones, which have not bothered me yet.
I have concerns this is related to possible hypercalcemia--which can indicate hyperparathyroidism and malignancy. Has anyone else had similar experience with elevated calcium? Are there other causes I may not be aware of?
Most of my recently metabolic test results are in the reference range.
Hi, its unlikely that a complication may develop. The hematoma will dissolve on its own. However, if you notice an increase in the size of the swelling or if it develops into an abscess, then consult your doctor. Regards.
Although you may develop a life threatening complication from a stone either blocking the neck of the gallbladder, or passing into the common bile duct with subsequent blockage or the most lethal complication, gallstone pancreatitis the evidence would argue that the day to day symptoms that patients with gallstones experience isn't actually from the stones at all.
Did they remove the gallbladder also?? You may have more gallstones IN the gallbladder that can irritate even before they get to the bile duct.
I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban. The original sore that was on my cheek never dried out, instead shrinking from the Bactroban.

Hi I have had gallstones simce feb 2012 but was pregnant so couldnt have anything done. Had my c sec august then in sept saw my consultant with keyhole surgery to remove gallbladder around may june 2013. In nov 2012 I wemt to aand e by ambulance after beimg in pain for 6 days a stone went to my pancreas giving me acuute pancreatitis 5 days on iv sent home and told id have surgery asap. Now 11 weeks later still waiting phone everyday and still waiting for a spot for my surgery.
My bowel movementsd go from fairly solid to quite loose soft and aerated with and turning a greenish/brown colour. Hi, I was rushed in for an emergency operation 3 years ago due to severe abdominal pains (suspected abscess on my appendix) where a 20cm cyst was found in my abdomen. About 1liter was drained from it and it was found only to contain lymphocytes and nothing more serious. Since then it has grown back so I had drain fitted under CT scan. This did not work due to the structure of the cyst. It has since grown even bigger and I often get stomach pains.
So I watched a video on youtube about preauricular sinus infection and I learned that it could lead to the formation of abscess. These complex fistulas often traverse deep to the external sphincter making operative repair more hazardous. Additionally, long-standing fistulas have a low but real risk of malignant transformation.
And blood in stools is definitely abnormal.
I have been having major stomach pains for a little over 2 years now. I am lost on what to do and I can't handle these pains anymore. As I'm typing this I'm laying in the fetal position on my living room floor having a gallbladder attack for an hour so far. I finally went to the emergency room for the first time and they had done blood test and barely looked at me and told me that I was fine. so I went home but they pains kept coming and now worse than before.
m wondering if other options are available to me other than surgery. I have a only a few small gallstones, but a variety of longtime abdominal discomforts and a moderately fatty liver.
