Zyrtec vs aerius

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec vs aerius

zyrtec

503607 tn?1275671579 t take Allegra anymore, nor Claritin, nor Aerius or Zyrtec. Also, no Sudafed and ones like that. He said I really shouldn't take anything with a heart arrhythmia, except to use a saline nasal spray from the pharmacy. That doesn't do much, but is better than nothing. When I get congested, my ears plug and I get dizzy. I really wish I felt I could safely take something, but am afraid to do so.
Avatar f tn I have had seasonal allergies along with dust, cat and dog allergies too since 30 years ago. I finally had 5 years of allegy shot ending aroung 2005, This year has been so bad with all the pollen I feel like I'm right back to day one. My eyes are itchy, my nose runs and my palate is so itchy. I take Atrovent for post nasal drip, aerius for the allergies and I'm also on Advair 250 discuss. Why is this happening after all these years? Will it go away or am I supposed to get shots again.
1605619 tn?1301631851 I take prilosec every day and my doctor says its fine. I would get off the zyrtec D and start the 24 hour zyrtec liquigels. You only take it once a day. You don't need the decongestant in the zyrtec D. You may be stuffy for a few days until you ween yourself off the decongestant but you will be okay. If you have that much diarrhea try taking some iron pills. I take 324 mg b/c of low iron. It makes you go a couple of times a day and regulates you and your stool.
Avatar n tn For the treatment of the symptoms I use 25 mg of Atarax daily (before sleep) and during the day 1 to 2 pills of either cetrizine (zyrtec), aerius, or rupatall. I have noticed that the Atarax and Rupatall work best for me since they remove the itchiness from my skin. I still get red flares and stripes but that does not bother me so much as it goed away after a while and my skin is not broken.
663386 tn?1283642868 Regarding antihistamines, he advices Benadryl, Aerius or Reactine. Previous bad experience with Benadryl (zombie like symptoms) led me to purchase Aerius. However the pamphlet inside the package indicates that it should not be used by people "with serious liver disease". Presumably HCV is serious or we wouldnt' be torturing ourselves with interferon and ribivarin. Again, thanks for your comments, much appreciated.
1402935 tn?1281958699 I was told it may be allergies. Was given Zyrtec. My sinus mucus swelled up so bad i could hardly breath and my face turned bright red. I did not take it again after that. I tried just general Benadryl and had the same reaction. Red face hard to breath through the nose. I was recently prescribed Allegra and am nervous to take it as it looks like it has a lot of the same medication as benadryl but stronger. Are these medications the same?
Avatar f tn Another one that is similar to claritin is aerius, you could try that.
Avatar f tn She told me there is no inflammation, everything looks fine and gave me antihistaminic tablets Aerius and corticosteroid Mometasone nose spray. It did not help, hearing got worse so I got corticosteroid Prednison. That did not help either. Every month I went to audiometry, the results got only worse. The doctor said it could be otosclerosis and run a HRCT for the right ear and it was ok, my ear was completely normal. They tried a MRI of my head and brain and also everything ok too.
Avatar m tn I used Biaxin (anti-biotics), started with Symbicort (puffer), then on Alvesco and now I am on Nasacort, Advair and Aerius. Is this a post virus cough, asthma or something else...your thoughts?
733681 tn?1231811440 I don't know how it's in the States, but here in Europe, you can get Cetirizine (Zyrtec) over the counter, and it worked pretty good for me. I use Aerius now, only because my healthcare insurance comp. doesn't pay the Zyrtec anymore. Coughing up sputum is common. You can also ask for a "Flutter" (I checked, it's got the same name in the USA), a device you blow on, and then it pulsates to, kind of, massage the sputum out of your lungs.
Avatar n tn (sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.
Avatar n tn has zyrtec been banned,i cant find it anywhere,if it has been banned then wot was the reason?
Avatar n tn My 33 year old fiance started last week with some small hive/rash (red, itchy bumps - like bug-bites but not) on his left toes. They then spread to his left thigh. Now on his torso and his right arm. Two triggers I can think of: 1) we had a mulch delivery last week and something in there is biting him or 2) he's having a reaction to the fabric softener I picked up (smelly vs hypoallergenic). Our problem is we can't decide if they're hives, bug bites, a rash, or what...
Avatar f tn I’ve seen a dermatologist for this and she concluded that it’s Urticaria although I don’t have any rashes or hives. She prescribed me Aerius (desloratadine) but it doesn’t stop the itching at all and is completely useless as far as I can tell. What’s also strange is that I currently live in Dubai, UAE where I was born and raised and have supposedly gotten used to the heat. However, my condition started when I came back to Dubai after living in the UK for five years.
Avatar f tn I got the ok on zyrtec during pregnancy from my allergist, OB, and pharmacist. I am positive that zyrtec is ok.
Avatar m tn I took zyrtec around 8:00 PM and my allergies are really bad so i wanted to know if it is safe to take Allegra now
7945295 tn?1397658820 Do any of you lady's take zyrtec for allergies? I don't like taking anything period but my allergies are sever. I claritan with my son but I feel like zyrtec works better. I was told its just as safe but figured I'd see what you lady's take.
460830 tn?1347219306 ), but I never have had any problem with taking a normal dose of Zyrtec...if I go ahead and take a Zyrtec, and it turns out that I did already take one, would it do any harm?
Avatar f tn I'm breaking out into hive for a month and a half now. I have never had a problem with hives before. I'm 35 yrs old, the worst area is on my scalp and on my bottom will flare up so badly, it's almost unbarable..Taking Benadryl daily to relief the burning itch..I'm now on Aerius 5mg. It seems to hit me after i eat. I decided to go Gluten Free for the last month now, which has helped alot. But i still seem to break out daily, but I'm now able to tolerate it..
Avatar f tn I was told to take zyrtec. Now I have a rash on my upper thighs. Is it the generic zyrtec? Would the regular Zyrtec do the same? Have you ever heard of Diamox being prescribed for Meneire's disease? I find nothing in the literature about it and am hesitant to take it as it makes me very tired. I need to sleep about 3 hours a day when I take it. I don't want to experience vertigo again.
Avatar f tn m allergic I use Aerius instead of Zyrtec. Anyway, ask your doctor this question. And do NOT follow advice about medications you get on forums (this is very important). It's probably a good idea to see a doctor, check your thyroid levels and most important: Get convinced that your heart is OK. This will reduce your anxiety.
Avatar m tn I saw my dermatologist and she said it was from allergy, but I was taking antihistaminic drugs (Aerius), which she prescribed me, for 7 days and no change. I also have this rash on my arms, legs and chest but not like on the face. In Monday she prescribed me antibiotics (doxycycline) and I see no change to better. I'm feeling like my face will fall of. It burns and sometimes is itchy. I didn't have rubeola(Measles) or chicken pox as a child. You can see the picture.
