Zyrtec vs flonase

Common Questions and Answers about Zyrtec vs flonase

zyrtec

Avatar n tn A good initial treatment is a nasal steroid spray, like Flonase. Zyrtec or Claritin might also be effective. If medical management does not work, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required to desensitize you to the things to which you are allergic.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec and benadryl. Zyrtec doesn't work for me, and benadryl makes me so tired. So my Dr gave me flonase and said to take the benadryl at night.
Avatar f tn //www.healthline.com/health/childrens-health/zyrtec-child-allergies#talk-with-your-doctor Flonase is a bit different. I assume you were also buying that over the counter? This too is generally regarded as safe but is recommended to only be used 2 months out of the year unless your doctor has said otherwise. It's a nasal steroid. These have been associated with usually insignificant slowing of growth. https://www.post-gazette.
Avatar f tn 11, 150lbs and I have never had allergies thus far so what gives? He told me to keep on the neti pot, take zyrtec and prescribed flonase. Well, im doing the flonase 2x's a day and the neti pot, and breathing has improved slightly but not normal but any means. Im going to give in and get on the zyrtec but Im cautious because I don't want to be addicted. He is a description of the situation.
Avatar n tn (sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.
Avatar f tn Zyrtec is fine. My doctor actually suggested Flonase.
Avatar n tn This is by far my worst allergy year ever..but really only in my eyes. I wake up to red, runny eyes that are super itchy. I was itching so hard that I wrinkled my eye membrane..freaky! I went through virtuwell and they said it was allergic conjunctivitis prescribing Olopatadine drops. Its been about 6 days now and no real relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Flonase, Benedryl and now Claratin with very limited relief. Anyone have a magic combination that works?
Avatar n tn I remember with DS #2 I was on claritan (I think) and flonase nasal spray. I would talk with your doctor to get a better idea of whats safe or not.
Avatar n tn put me on Zyrtec and flonase . The Zyrtec about sent me over the edge. We stopped that. They than put me on citalopram an anti depres and Apprazolam. After two weeks we decied I was having side affects from citalopram. They took 12 days to work me off citalopram. By the way about that time I finally got in to see and ENT doctor.
Avatar n tn I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety.

I have frequent urination, extreme thirst, & bloating. I seem to be exhausted 90% of the time. I also have lots of varicose veins in both my legs.
Avatar n tn I've had a sore throat for three months with no other symptoms. In April, I went to Urgent Care, because it felt like my throat was on fire it was so unbelievably sore. After being tested I was told that I thankfully do not have strep throat. She prescribed me medication called Loratadine, which I began taking once a day and suggested taking a Benadryl every night before bed.
Avatar f tn I take zyrtec, singulair, flonase and astepro for the allergies and sinus. My ENT is stumped. How can I get my taste and smell back?
1472764 tn?1287588186 I will be six weeks tomorrow. My allergies started acting up yesterday when I got into some dust. I've been running a low grade temp since then of around 99.2. I take zyrtec at night and flonase nasal spray. I use a nettie pot nasal wash also. Any suggestions on how to kick this?
Avatar f tn 3 years, along with Qvar, Albuterol, Singular, Zyrtec and Flonase.
Avatar f tn he has an allergy related skin condition (Urticaria Pigmentosa), seasonal allergies, and food allergies (tree nuts only). He takes the adult dosage of Zyrtec daily and uses Flonase to keep some of the allergies under control. Because of all of these allergies, I assumed the tongue issue would also be allergy related (the allergy specialist disagrees though). We have also tried Benadryl to no avail. He hasn't had a decent night's sleep in weeks.
Avatar n tn I have also been having vertigo issues for the past nine months or so. Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth.
Avatar m tn It's usually the dander and/or the saliva that causes the allergy, not the hair so I'm not sure shaving it would be of much help. I actually reduced my dog allergy by living with my two dogs--much faster exposure than shots, but it was suffering in the beginning I admit. Have you tried taking a daily allergy medication for indoor/outdoor allergies? Many of the good ones have gone over the counter now, like Zyrtec.
Avatar f tn Let me also add that I suffer from horrible allergies and take Zyrtec and Flonase daily. I have one tonsil that is much larger than the other and seem to get strep and sinus infections very easily. One visit I was diagnosed with an infection (most likely strep she said, although no white spots....just huge tonsil with an opaque surface) after being asked about tonsil stones. I never heard of them so I read up on it.
Avatar n tn The pediatrician has said her symptoms are from allergies so she has been on Zyrtec and Flonase for awhile now. That has helped in the past but for the last 4-5 months she is complaining of these symptoms even when she does not have a cold. He has also prescribed an inhaler that helps when she gets a bad coughing attack but she is still saying it is hard to breath in her throat. I am wondering if she has enlarged adnoids.
Avatar m tn I went to an allergist and found out I have allergies ( to pollen, grass, dust, and pets) so I began taking Flonase, Zyrtec, and Mucinex D, but this did not help either. Upper GI tract test came back normal. Thyriod gland test came back normal. Chest x-ray came back normal. I'm otherwise healthy. Please someone help!!!!!!! What else could be causing my throat problems and what should I take for it??????
Avatar m tn Holy!!! EXACT same symptoms with me too! Small world huh? lol Think I'll go to a different ENT and get looked at. Had adenoids out when I was 6 and the problems only ever got worse. 12 years ago I was finally sent to an ENT who said I had a deviated septum, and Menierre's disease...was sent home with some SERC and told to live with it. Over the past two months my sinuses have gotten worse.
Avatar f tn And nothing, nothing has stopped my sinuses from draining into my lungs. Allegra, zyrtec, claritin, flonase, ipratropium, ranitidine, azelastine, prednisone, azelastine, clarithromyc, ventolin, montelukast, azithromycin, clindamycin, methylpred, cefdinir, omeprazole, arnuity.
1663704 tn?1302912377 I have had fluid behind my eardrum since September 2010. My physician looked and saw fluid behind my eardrum and said it's caused from allergies or sinuses. I do have allergies and postnasal drainage. I was prescribed Flonase for 30 days, which didn't work, then prescribed a 7 day steroid medication, this didn't help either. I have tried Allegra D, Mucinex D, Mucinex, Sudafed, Sudafed PE, Afrin, etc. I am currently trying Zyrtec.
