Avatar f tn I forgot to mentioned that I had a stye 2 months ago (in the eye which is recovering from the mucus and pink eye). I thought that it went away completely, without medication. Apparently, it didn't, since I got a subsequent eye infection. At this time, I decided to stop using Zymar, since my infected eye is 99% fine. I will just use the hot towel/compress over both eyes.
Avatar m tn 00 - so I am left with 1 hour and 15 minutes before surgery and last eye drop(12.45). Is this fine or we should have minimum 2 hours gap?
Avatar m tn , rubbing it with my hands seemed to have caused an infection., mucus in my left eye., after seing an optomologist and getting on zymar + azithromycin + benadryl, the tearing + mucus in eye has reduced. Either eye/duct infection is gone from zymar, or my sinus infec has completely cleared or the benadryl is reducing some alergies... anyway., when i apply warm compress and then blow my nose with left nostril blocked., tears + white mucus drains into eye.
Avatar f tn Called opthamologist several times w/same response of give it time. Using eye drops several times and hour still and pm ointment. GP is ruling out Sjogrens syndrome with bloodwork. What is your opinion of where I am in my recovery and are my symptoms at this point of concern and what else can I do?
Avatar m tn I'm on Lotemax / Pred Forte and also on Ketorolac (generic brand of a perscription that I forget) which is an anti-inflamatory. I have access to Lotepred; is that the same as the Ketorolac, (anti-inflamatory)? Or, is Lotepred the same as Zymar (anti-biotic)? I'm trying to avoid renewing my perscription of Ketorolac for 8 more days.
Avatar n tn I went to an eye doctor yesterday and she gave me Zymar and Acular to treat it and told me not to rub my eyes or try to clean them out when it starts. How can you work and function when it's doing this??? Just wondering if anyone else has this and what it's called.
Avatar m tn The distance vision is still acceptable (20-20 in right eye) and the IOL eye (left) can now read at about 18 inches and see pretty dadgum good at a distance. I don't think I could have stood the halos and "adaptation" period.
Avatar n tn I was on zymar and then zylet which I could not tolerate then on oral tetracycline that made it worse. I went to a new eye doc who put me on azasite for 14 days. I am very sensitive which he knows but says it is very tolerable and effective by most. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn The night of the surgery she experienced sever eye pain and watering. Two days later, blood started pouring from her nose and mouth. She went to the emergency room where they witnessed this. They admitted her to the hospital for one week and could find nothing despite several more episodes of the bleeding. She was discharged with a referral to return next Monday to see a pulmonary specialist.
Avatar n tn Yes, this is totally normal and done millions of times a year all over the world. I have done it for every cataract surgery I have ever performed. You want to keep the eye from getting inflamed after surgery. If we didn't use proper anti-inflammatory drops, the success rate from surgery would be awful due to inflammatory complications.
Avatar m tn Glaucoma surgery because first surgery raise eye pressure to 50. Right eye marinated with zymar, forte, acular and lotemax, many-many follow-up appointments. The outcome can be more disappointed: Zero correction in astigmatism, my eye pressure is 24-30 after 3rd surgery, my insurance money taken away plus had to pay for an expensive toric lens because is premium and the insurance donot pay for it.
Avatar n tn I went to the opthamologist, and was told that I have corneal ulcer, likely due to a contact lens induced infection caused. The doctor prescribed Zymar -- an antibiotic -- and might have to prescribe a fortified compound if the symptoms don't begin to dissipate. I have a major problem in that the effected eye is now photophobic. The dimmest of lights forces my eye shut, causing a thin liquid discharge. Can anyone tell me how long it will be before the photophobia dissipates?
Avatar n tn doctor said I had more inflammation than normal and to use Pred Forte every two hours, in addition to Xibrom and Zymar. Could increased inflammation cause the decrease in contrast? Thanks for any information you may offer.....
Avatar n tn I'm scheduled for cataract surgery on Wednesday. I started the prescription drops (Zymar and Xibrom) on Sunday morning as directed. I've had some peculiar symptoms and wondering if they are drug related. Sunday morning, a few hours after both drops, I sat down to read the paper (next to a bright light) and started feeling very hot. The left (cataract and light) side of my face felt a little numb, with some prickly feeling. I also felt very flushed....weak and faint feeling.
Avatar n tn Recently I had to go to the eye doctor and found out my right eye had cornea abrasions and and ulcer. The doctor gave me Zymar, a bacteria antibiotic and that cleared that up. If I had a viral infection such as HIV would the bacterial antibiotic have treated my eye? Also, I've been working at a mail processing place for over a year. Throughout the day I work with a lot of cash, checks, and rubberbands.
Avatar n tn I called my surgeon and he said that is completely normal, it is where he made the incision. I am on Pred Forte 4x day, Xibrom 2x day, and Zymar 4 times a day, but I stop the Zymar tomorrow. I looked everywhere on this site and googled every way I know. I did not see anything related to this issue. If there was going to be a bump that was this noticeable, you would think the dr. or nurse would have warned me. There is no redness anywhere.
Avatar f tn Hello, There is no relation of farting and pink eye. Pink eye can be due to conjunctivitis, uveitis, dry eye, blepharitis, angle closure glaucoma, subconjunctival haemorrhage, corneal infection, injury, contact lens wear and allergies. I would suggest you to get it evaluated from an ophthalmologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Pink eye is just that: pink eye. Our conjunctiva can get inflamed so easily from a variety of things. The seasons are also changing again, and it's that time of year where allergies and other things in your body will flare up. It's normal, and it's not HIV.
Avatar m tn The day i was diagnosed with pink eye my wife had severe flu like symptoms with fever ( 101 - 102 ), fatigue, cold and diarrhea...My pink eye infection has got anything to do with my wife's health condition? please advice.
Avatar f tn I went to a physician and was given a prescription of eye drops for pink eye. It has already been about four and a half days that I have been taking them and I don't see or feel any improvement. I have also avoided any places with bright lights and haven't touched my TV, computer, or any electronics untill now. With my finals this week, I am worried that I may be kicked out of school because of my eyes and I may miss my finals.
Avatar f tn My eye is killing me right now and I am going to the doctor 1st thing in the morning :-(
Avatar f tn The next day, my eyes were almost the same except with added infections of drainage and unbelievable swelling to the extent that my eyesight was blurry and almost unbearable. I went to a physician and was prescribed some eye drops for pink eye but it has already been about four and a half days and I don't see or feel any improvement.
