Thanks. Now after cataract surgery (left eye) we are given below drops. Zymar 4 times a day for 1 week. Pred Forte 4 times a day for first 3 weeks, 3 times a day next 1 week, 2 times a day for next 1 week, 1 time a day next 1 week. Megabrom 2 times a day for 4 weeks.
Megabrom when applied gives prickling/slight burning sensation is it normal? Can Megabrom dose be reduced to 2 weeks. Wondering combination of steroidal and non-steroidal drops.
Bandage lens placed on eye with one week follow up to remove lens. Used Zymar drops 1 x day while bandage on. Told 4-6 wk. heal time. I am at the 4 wk. mark. I have scratchy, gritty, irritated, burning eyes. Called opthamologist several times w/same response of give it time. Using eye drops several times and hour still and pm ointment. GP is ruling out Sjogrens syndrome with bloodwork.
My surgeon has prescribed 4 drops of Pred Forte per day for 6 weeks tapering off for 2 weeks following cataract surgery on both eyes. I've read that PF actually delays healing in these cases. I had to use Prednisone for months for an unrelated problem and suffered all the usual side affects - moon face, obese trunk, etc. Do I really need to take Pred Forte for so long? I'm also using Zymar (for ten days) and Xibrom (for 8 weeks) in each eye.
I'm scheduled for cataract surgery on Wednesday. I started the prescription drops (Zymar and Xibrom) on Sunday morning as directed. I've had some peculiar symptoms and wondering if they are drug related. Sunday morning, a few hours after both drops, I sat down to read the paper (next to a bright light) and started feeling very hot. The left (cataract and light) side of my face felt a little numb, with some prickly feeling. I also felt very flushed....weak and faint feeling.
You have a serious problem that can cause permanent damage to the eye and in the worst case loss of eye. It may take longer than a week to clear up. use the medicine drops exactly as prescribed. Deal with the sensitivity to light with a hat and sunglasses. You can even get sun goggles like people wear after cataract surgery that block from the side and top. Ask the ophthalmologist about them tomorrow.

hi! my doctor said that i have a bacterial conjunctivitis and ws advised to take zymar- gatifloxacin drops for 4x a day for 14 days. Now is my 3rd day of using the said medicine but i felt that my got swell..dont know if this is the effect...i would like to hear any advised..do i have to continue using the medicine of not? pls. help me..
, after seing an optomologist and getting on zymar + azithromycin + benadryl, the tearing + mucus in eye has reduced. Either eye/duct infection is gone from zymar, or my sinus infec has completely cleared or the benadryl is reducing some alergies... anyway., when i apply warm compress and then blow my nose with left nostril blocked., tears + white mucus drains into eye., this has to do with "wide open nasolacrimal duct" can someone please explain how this happens?
Remember that the IOP in the eye changes from hour to hour, like your blood pressure or your blood sugar. The daily variation is called the "diurnal curve" so if your IOP was 22 last time and next time it's 18 it doesn't mean its getting better or that better diet/exercise has helped. Conversely if its 24 it doesn't mean getting worse.
I would like to know will the distortion disapperars and is it connected to CME and also how long the blurdness will be there. I am using drops prednisolone acetate drop(predmet), zymar, cyclopent, acular ls. Also there is no retina detachment. I still find haziness in day light.

Hello. Hoping someone here might be able to give me some insight as to what is going on with my right eye.Little history first...
I've had glasses since I was in 5th grade and worn contacts off and on since around 97. This past Feb. out of nowhere it felt like my vision just took a dive. My glasses just didn't cut it anymore so I went for an exam. When I went in for the exam the Dr. said I was -4.5 in both eyes and that my right eye had a "significant" astigmatism.
Now I use one drop of Prednisalone in each eye daily plus, seven drops daily in my left eye of Pred Forte (generic) drops and four of this drop in my right eye. I also am half way through a series of recurrant wet macula degeneration, the Retina specialist using Avastin. Today i will ask my Opthomologist about continuing that process.
I can see well with my right eye but poorly in the plagued left one.
It was the cleaning solution but I used them as drops. Under my eye got all red from the drops that fell on my cheek and was irritated for about 3 days thats why I was wondering if it could have really irritated and dryed out my eye but just not cleared yet. my wife says she puts the soution in her eyes all the time but maybe my eyes didn't like something in the solution.
Sure, you can subsititute another antibiotic (if you can tolerate these drops) such as Tobramycin or Polytrim. For about one patient a week, I have to substitute Tobramycin for my usual floroquinolone Zymar, because the patient has a allergic history. Talk to your surgeon. There should be no problem making the switch here if needed.
Hi there, I have developed dry eye and blepharitis and have been trying various drops which aren't really helpful. My eye consultant suggested eye plugs to try, I am unsure which ones however she said they can be removed if I don't get on with them. I have had two left eye retinal detachments in 2020 and was reluctant to have any further procedures to that eye.

If you still have it read the package insert that you get when you get a new bottle of medicine. Or go on the internet and read the side effects.
