Avatar f tn If these persist, it is best that you inform your attending physician for proper management. Increase in blood pressure may be caused by a variety of issues as well such as underlying condition and from physiologic causes like sickness or from physical exertion. Regular Blood pressure monitoring and low salt diet may also help. Tale care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn A friend said she took Zonegran for nerve pain and it helped her tremendously. My c ondition now is post herpetic neuraglia left over from shingles in the top of my head, forehead, eyebrow and left eye. have anyone tried Zonegran for post herpetic nueraglia (PHN) and did it help. The Lyrica is now affecting my eyes so I am desperate to get off it. Any answers/experiences are much appreciated. Thanks much.
Avatar f tn t think of them at this time) I am now being treated with Zonegran, Depakote. The Zonegran was working for a little while but I have seemed to reach a plateau. I have not been migraine free at all since November, but there have been times where my migraines have been less painful. I work for a health insurance company and I am on the computer for 8 hours a day. I have been unalbe to work a full time scheule for the past 3 months due to my migraines.
1303966 tn?1296740010 Has anyone with Chiari had success with Diamox? I'm currently on Zonegran for L-temperal lobe seizures, but the constant pressure and full feeling in my ears and mouth is driving me crazy. Told possible Meniers by ENT, but my Neuro thinks it's the Chiari. She wants to try Diamox, but wants to clear it with my Chiari specialist because of the Zonegran and risk of kidney problems (dehydration).
Avatar f tn Zonegran is awesome! It really has worked great for my daugther with little to no side effects. Initially, there was some problems with being a little sleepy during the morning, but that wore off. It also did cause some appetite suppression in the morning, but that wore off too. I hope you find the right dosage and it works well for you too. Were you able to lose the weight you gained off of the Trileptal?
Avatar n tn As you can see alcohol use is not recommended for use with Zonegran in particular. but is usually not recommended for use with most medications. That is because it can increase or decrease the effectiveness of the medication or cause unwanted side effects. Personally, although I haven't found any literature that indicates that seizures will occur if you use it with Zonegran and Lamictal, I would avoid it completely or minimize its' usage.
Avatar f tn I think a lot of the time it is just the post surgery meds that mask that the symptoms are there and when you ease up on the drugs..they reappear. For me, I had an awful time with pain management (there wasn't any!) so I think that's why I didn't get that feeling of relief. It is a rollercoaster of emotions dealing with this and I'm so sorry that you are too...we just have to keep having hope and try to let our bodies keep healing.
Avatar m tn Were you seeing a pain specialist before or were you seeing your family Dr?I'm asking because if was your family Dr some of them know little about how to manage chronic pain. A pain specialist does. That's what I would recommend, getting in to see a pain specialist. Ask your family Dr to recommend one or you can do your own research on the internet to find one with high patient ratings. One that truly understands their patients and their needs.
2183581 tn?1369937547 But I have been in chronic pain for the past few years. And have been struggling for the past year with no insurance. Fighting with doctors dealing with stolen meds, bad massage therapist, bad acupuncture, and trying to deal with my life. Okay another the catch up my post for my question is related to this. I finally broke down and paid cash to see a pain management doctor in desperation hoping that he could help me get off the couch.
Avatar f tn I am a 38 yr. old female. I suffer from multiple migraines per day and fibromyalgia and severe lower back pain. I deal with the pain without the use of narcotics or opiates because I have a history of addiction to these substances as I have had migraines all my life. A common relapse issue for me is around pain management. It's a complicated subject. I take a lot of advil and muscle relaxers which do not kill all of the pain and this often leaves me depressed about the quality of my life...
774623 tn?1236694599 t do anything else for me and refused to give me anything else for the pain. The pain is so bad Now that I have trouble getting up from a setting position. I have looked into everything. I am trying to get into a pain clinic also. Any thoughts from anyone? i am desperate.
646398 tn?1223783859 I guess my question is, how do I go about getting into pain management? Or is it even time for pain management? I work 40 hours a week, and have missed two days of work this week because of the pain I am in.
970581 tn?1248407961 My mother has been prescribed many opiates for pain management for several years now. It has caused her some severe health issues, central sleep apnea, all kinds of stuff. Now they are checking for brain damage due to long term opiate abuse. She has been off all opiates for 22 days but had a 1 week suboxone taper. So now she has been off everything for 2 weeks. They did a drug test and she tested positive. Is it possible for some of this stuff to still be showing up on drug tests.
Avatar f tn I'm going to see a pain management doctor for endometriosis. I most recent surgery was July of last year. I recently started Lupron, but that doesn't seem to have been any help yet, besides making me super emotional. Does anyone have any suggestions/advice about what to expect that ask? I know they're are a lot of different solutions out there, so I was looking for some feedback success or not so successful experiences. Thanks everyone!
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone has any feedback for pain management clinics an pain management for endometriosis. Thanks so much. This has an will be a tough journey so any help is appreciated.
Avatar n tn I started making calls myself and I found a neurosurgeon and am waiting on my next appointment with him. I also asked my doctor to give me a referral for pain management. I am waititng to hear from them with an appoinment date now. My current issue is that I asked my doc to not write a new prescription for the patches......that is really making me feel bad and causing me to take a few more pills than I normally would.
1303966 tn?1296740010 Sorry to hear about everything! I know how you feel...have been on a number of different anti-seizure meds for 14 years now, and totally understand how you feel. If it helps, things usually improve somewhat after you've been on the meds for 5 or 6 months....kind of get used to the dosage, although it isn't easy to deal with all the side effects.
Avatar n tn I have been in pain management for 3yrs.I have DDD of cervical and lumbar spine with pinched nerves and annular tears causing headaches,neck,arm,mid-back,low back, leg pain and also severe restless leg syndrome.Pain averages 5 on 1-10 scale.I have been taking ultram 2x and lortab 3x daily for 2 yrs.Doctor continues to ask me if I would start fentanyl therapy, which I have tried and only helps for 2 days and not 3 days which the dosage is set at.I have declined the fentanyl treatment and now DR.
Avatar f tn I also brought in all my paperwork from the doctors i seen and from my surgeries as well,I also declined a pain patch as i felt it would be too much for me.
Avatar f tn You could try one of the non-opioid drugs used for neuropathic pain, though these may not be as effective as opioids and some may have a component causing dependence. It would be discuss this in detail with your treating doctor. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn Are you referring to head pain, neck pain, or pain somewhere else? For me, pre-op, nothing worked. I had headaches that would wake me up every couple of hours. Now that I'm post-op, I prop myself up on the couch with my Chiari Zipperhead pillow and that seems to help my pain meds work. The pillow is great (I had it pre-op, too) because it has filling you can add or take out.
