Zomig zmt generic

Common Questions and Answers about Zomig zmt generic

zomig

Avatar f tn examples are maxalt-MLT, zomig-ZMT, zomig nasal spray, imitrex or imitrex nasal spray. But, only your doctor can prescribe these or say if they are actually appropriate for you and your headache (not everyone can take them).
Avatar f tn the only meds that help relieve most of the pain are Zomig (really expensive, but no generic version yet) and Meloxicam (generic for Mobic) - both pills taken together usually decrease pain within an hour or two. Hope this helps. My doc also suggested Imitrex when I can't afford the Zomig anymore.
1102283 tn?1257817472 Anyway, because of superior bioavailability of the more expensive triptans is why I suggest getting the back up prescriptions for the Zomig Nasal Spray and the Maxalt-MLTs just in case the generic Sumatriptan tablets do not work for you. But, for cost reasons, fill the generic Sumatriptan tablet prescription first! (as long as the doctor at the clinic agrees) And, try to get samples of what ever triptans the clinic has to hand out if possible, regardless of the brand..
306455 tn?1288862071 My insurance use to only let me get limited supplies of imitrex because of the price, but now with the generic , it is so much cheaper.... thanks for the info!!
Avatar f tn My RX for them is Zomig ZMT, 12 pills a mo as needed. Sometimes when I get up from bed I am a little loopy feeling, like the Weebles...I always wobble to the right. OK, so I am weird, I am rereading this and I sound like a hypochondriac! I am just so sick and tired of being sick and tired. The bp meds have brought my lows up, but now my normal is high and my high is really high. I am on the lowest dose and now taking them every other day!
768044 tn?1294223436 Mostly I stick with my Zomig and for the majority of my migraines and the Zomig works. It tends to only be the migraines that wake me up that the zomig just won't work for. Or, sometimes if a migraine comes back on the same day, a second dose of zomig won't work to get rid of it either and it will be much more severe when it comes back. Although, really, over-all, the zomig works the majority of the time.
910419 tn?1289483727 I have a tentative diagnosis of basilar migraine that got slapped on me ~7 years ago. That was before my heart condition was diagnosed, so I'm not sure if I still qualify. The thing is, I have an Rx for Zomig, (a triptan) and my mom's made me really scared of taking the Zomig for fear of cutting off blood circulation. Does anybody else here have basilar migraines and take triptans? If not, do you have an abortive of any kind?
Avatar f tn It is the new generation rizatriptan and the side effects with me anyway were minimal in comparasion with other tablets like cafergot, migral and zomig. With zomig it used to give me a terrible sensation of my head been squeezed in a vice and with time it just got worse. I believe all medication messes with your liver and kidneys - the secret is to find one that works for you and has minimal side effects.
1088430 tn?1259159773 Hi tia1977, I live in Canada, specifically in BC, so in BC we don't really have this sort of problem when it comes to triptans anymore because our government insurance plan recognizes any triptan, in any delivery method (tablet, nasal spray, injection), in any amount, as standard treatment.
Avatar n tn After some time of taking zomig nearly everyday I had to resort to syndol again. The side effects of zomig are not pleasant at all and drain all my energy and are too expensive to take everyday. The syndol seemed to be working but after a while they kind of stopped working again but was again addicted. I have lost hope of my headache problem ever being solved. I cannot stand all this pain and drugs. One way or another I feel sick all times of the day with no exaggeration whatsoever.
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
Avatar m tn The triptan that I take is called zomig, and I take a nasal spray version. There are lots of triptans on the market and imitrex is one of the first, the generic name is called sumatriptan and it is what they will give you in the hospital, but by injecteion, if you ever go in for a migraine... they won't give you any other triptan at the hospital usually because sumatriptan by injection is pretty much the best triptan out there!!
521800 tn?1212329682 Thank you for your response, next time I go to the doctor i will definitly ask for an antimigraine. I used to also use the Zomig Nasal Spray but that would just immediatly put me to sleep and when i would wake up my body would feel sore but my headache was gone. i had also tried other pills to take as soon as i felt the migraine coming but those never really worked. Is there anything i should be worried about with the zomig because that seemed to be the only thing that worked before.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have experience with using Zomig or one of the other Triptan medications during pregnancy? What was your experience like? Tylenol is not working for me.
Avatar n tn Hi.... in order that I use them: Home use: - Zomig nasal spray... it is a triptan... so, a migraine medication. At the first signs of a migraine. - Naproxen tablets. If the triptan doesn't provide relief. Help it out with Naproxen... a strong prescription NSAID that is often used for migraine pain. - Gravol tablets. Also will use this if the zomig doesn't help. OR i will use this along with the zomig right away if i have nausea with the migraine.
86075 tn?1238115091 I have taken zomig for my migraines. it comes in a pill or nasal spray. if you can deal with nasal spray use it. it works really fast i just cant spray anything up my nose! haha one time was all i could handle. i take maxalt. for me it works the fastest. your dr. will probably give you several diff. kinds of samples and have you see which works best on you.
Avatar f tn I take Zomig (I get migraines about 3-5 times a year) and Zomig knocks it out. Ironically, Norco used to give me headaches and then unfortunately, I became accustomed to them and addicted to them...... Now I am on day 14 with no opiates and I am still not quite well, but better each day. I won't be touching those demonic yellow pills anymore. Fortunately, my pain level is manageable as well. Opiates cause rebound pain the same way rebound headaches work. I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn t get imitrex tablets, get the imitrex or generic nasal spray or imitrex or generic injection OR treximex tablets but NOT imitrex tablets. - Zolmitriptan. brand name Zomig. this is what i use. (although i have used all of them at some point) don't get the tablets... like imitrex, the tablets don't work. But, the nasal spray DOES work incredibly well and this is what is usually prescribed anyway. - Almotriptan. brand name Axert. a very powerful triptan tablet.
Avatar f tn Zomig Nasal Spray (what I use), Zomig-ZMT, Maxalt-MLT and Imitrex Injection (although the Injection Triptans are only prescribed in the most severe cases usually after all other triptans have been tried, so don't ask for the Injection kind). Penn1023 made a great suggestion with the Magnesium, as that is one preventative measure that can be taken to reduce the amount and severity of migraine attacks.
Avatar n tn i did get a script for zomig nasil spray it helpes but dont last long.nothing shows up on my mri , thankfully the tumor is still gone. i have tried so many meds , like you cant rember there names. thanks for your service in the military , sorry you had to go threw this serving our country. take care of your self.
Avatar m tn s had problems with holding her urine. At times it will just come out. She was put on a med. from the Vet. Does anyone know of a generic brand or natural one that will do the same. I can't keep going back paying office visits everytime she needs a new med.
