Which brand is best when taking venlafaxine? Really struggling at the minute with trying to find the right mes to help my anxiety which then turns into depression sertraline (Zoloft) has made me worst these last 5 weeks of being on it from 50mg to 100mg then 150mg sent me way over had 100mg today and been back to docs he prescribed me 37.

How long have you had the diarrhea? At what point after starting the Zoloft did it start? I'm having a hard time believing it's being caused by the Zoloft. Diarrhea, as a side effect of Zoloft, would typically begin pretty quickly after starting the med, usually within a few days, and it would normally resolve after about 2 weeks. I'm thinking you may have some other issue going on, or a GI problem. Where you by chance on antibiotics at any point before the diarrhea started?

Please advise how long term use (5 years) of anti-depressants and anti-psychotic meds like venlafaxine, olonzapine, zoloft, and prozac, even high stress, can create gum disease and jaw bone degeneration. Thanks. boxcar.

The symptoms I am experiencing on setraline/zoloft. Irregular pulse, fast pulse and slow pulse are on the serious side effect list. I am going for a heart monitor tomorrow. I am almost 100 percent sure that the antidepressants are causing my symptoms. Will these symptoms subside as often the minor ones do? I am loathe to stop them as no weight gain and ive tried so many my doctor is running out of options.

He basically said this was all anxiety still, and thought I really needed to be on a daily medication instead of just taking ativan when it got really bad. He prescribed me zoloft 100mg, but suggested I start with 50mg to try and lessen the side effects. I have not taken it yet as I am anxious about taking it (of course). I am really just curious as what to expect when starting this. It is supposed to have fewer side effects than the paxil.

I hav taken Effexor Hcl 150 mg generic called Venlafaxine HCL ER Capsules 150mg, for years. A new doc wrote for the same medication in tablet form by mistake instead of the caps. Will it work the same for me?

I am hoping to be put on something safer, like zoloft. Has anyone taken Zoloft and had it work for them?

I have taken both Zoloft and Effexor for long periods (not any longer because I am on differnt AD's now) What I can tell you is that (at least in my case) I found Zoloft to be far LESS effective than Effexor. Zoloft is a one trick poney and effects only Serotonin. Effexor effects both Serotonin and Norephinepherine. Big difference in the two drugs. I am pretty sure you will find Zoloft much less effective, as most people do.

When I got my last prescription I was given viepax and today was given venlafaxine hydrochloride. I have had low mood since changing even though my GP says that venladaxine is the active ingredient in all of them. Can anyone help?

I too notice a difference in how I feel taking Zoloft vs. Sertraline. I like Sertraline better though because I don't feel as numbed out and my sex drive is not affected.

ve gone a whole day without having a panic attack. My doctor recently put me on 75mg Venlafaxine and I now wake up in the middle of the night (I tak my meds in the morning) in a panic. I'd like to know if this is normal? And if Venlafaxine really helps with anxiety? I've been on other antidepressant that claim to help with anxiety as well and they just made me feel numb.

Celexa does not give me fatigue but I do take it at bedtime like I did with the Zoloft. The Celexa does not work as well as the zoloft did but it took many many months for the zoloft to kick in so hoping someday the celexa works just as well.

No, but do take zoloft and have for years. No issues and only 50 mg, day. It just helps even out my seratonin levels so my moods are more stable. I'm 35 now, started it at 18!

Was on dutonin, got taken off market, citalopram 14 years, stopped working. Escitalopram and trazadone gave me palpatations, prozac major bingeing. venlafaxine i was too scared to go on aft hearing lots of negatives about it. Really hope this one goes well as its for anxiety and depression both of which i have.

Thanks Rebekah. I've decided to stay on the zoloft. I guess it's the lesser of 2 evils. Zoloft vs. depression. Neither is great for baby.

if a person takes wellbutrin and zoloft and is doing well other than insomnia, can trazadone be added to the wellbutrin and zoloft to improve sleep?

I was recently withdrawn from Venlafaxine 300mgs. bd and had a rough time with sweats and feeling freezing along with nervous system side effects. My GP prescribed me Duloxitine 20mgs. a couple of weeks ago but they didn't appear to be making any difference so I stopped them a week ago. My sister has depression and takes Amitriptylline with good effect. Do you think I ought to request the same from my GP?
