However, Italian researchers have found that the LD50 (the lethal dose at which half of the animals die) of glucosamine sulfate is 8000 mg/kg. In humans this would be equivalent to ingesting over 500,000 mg at one time or 1,000 pills each containing 500 mg.
I hope this is useful... I got the idea from the site that max safe dose is 1500mg, and your dog had twice that much. You may want to see the vet anyway, even tho it says in the previous paragraph that a lethal dose is 8000mg.
my dad is 83 yrs old, has emphysema, copd everything...hes on ox, however he still struggles to breathe, won't allow anyone to go into the doctors office with him ! I know he is in stage 4, how long does that last? its been like this for a couple of years, he has difficulty even walking across the room and says that its a task to urinate. is there anything we can do as a family to make him more comfortable?
opiates will make your spew, but i dont think the codeine even in high doses makes you sick, iv had 240mg of codeine before and it just makes you feel real high for a couple of hours, ulcers would be causing him pain,so im not so sure if its ulcers.HOw many is he taking at one time?
This only becomes an issue if you are taking mega-doses of those vitamins and lose a lot of weight - suddenly, your body could be overdosed - there is an LD50 listing for vitamin A of 2000 mg/kg - LD = lethal dose, LD50 = 50% of the population will die at that dose, 2000 milligrams per kilogram of body weight.
Anyone who tells you that herbs will not hurt you is just wrong.
I know that this forum isn't adequate for my question but I am new to this site please forgive me for this.
I am 17 years old, and 80 kg.
My issue is I have just taken accidentally 10 grams of paracetamol aka acetaminophen I've just read that the ld50 is >250mg/kg so by this it means that the dose for me to die is 20 grams.
Will I be safe for the next 24 hours because I can't seek any medical help for this time, what should I do? I am really scared.
Other combinations of pain killers with anti sickness medicines like domperidone and metoclopramide. The prescription medicines like triptans, rizatriptan and zolmitriptan come in various forms like nasal sprays, injections and tablets that dissolve on the tongue and can be used for you since nausea and vomiting is an issue. Prophylactic medicines like propranolol, pizotifen and valproate can be tried.
I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result. My condition limits my ability to perform in sports and my day to day life.
Some meds need to be separated by a short period of time. I guess these are more specifically SSRI's and MAOI's. I didn't see a major problem with the meds being taken consecutively. This should always be at the discretion of ones doctor though.
I guess I neglected to emphasize the importance of only ever making medication changes after consultation with the treating physician.
There are a number of factors to consider when changing meds. Withdrawal is only one.
Almotriptan (axert), Rizatriptan (maxalt), Zolmitriptan (zomig nasal spray... don't bother with the tablets, the body can't absorb the chemical in the tablet form), Sumatriptan (sumatriptan injection or treximet tablet... don't bother with imitrex tablets, the body can't absorb the chemical in tablet form).
If you are having cluster headaches, then you should be taking sumatriptan injections and also be using oxygen therapy.
amitriptyline, botox injections, celebrex, clonazepam, cipralex, demerol, fentanyl, gabapentin, imitrex, maxalt, metoprolol, migraine prophylaxis, oxazepam, proplylaxin, prednizone, topamax, toradol, tramacel, valproic acid, zoplicone, zolmitriptan (I apologize ahead of time for spelling and/or duplicates in the list, there have been others as well but I have no records on hand)
I have had the usual tests and seen the usual professionals associated with migraine such as MRI's, EMG, otolaryn
I have just started taking 150 mg of topirimate before they with try anything else for migraines or headaches and then I have zolmitriptan nasal spray and pills for abortive medication and that is all I have been given for any pain even though ibuprofen and Tylenol do not work for my pain at all.
She did give me 3 new medications 2 different preventatives and a sample of nurtec for abortive medication in addition to zolmitriptan I already have so hopefully they can at least help with my pain but otherwise still can't find a Dr who will acknowledge chiari symptoms I have.
