Ask your Dr about Zofran. Helps a ton but me and a few other ladies on this site seem to have built up a tolerance for it. If it doesn't work for you, ask about diclegis. That stuff is amazing. As far as helping out now, take lil sips. No straw and no food at same time as liquid. Only one or the other. Peppermint helps a lot. I usually have the peppermint altoids in my purse it settles the tummy a lil bit. And remember that gummy bears are a liquid :) hope that helps at least a lil.
s be clear about form of promethazine as it comes in a liquid mainly for cough medicine promethazine w/codeine (promethazine w/codeine syrup is highly abused in our country) plain promethazine syrp, promethazine vc syrp and pill form. Zofran comes in a liquid as well, dissolvable tablets (AKA odt), and regular tablets. I would ask my doc for zofran, my friend took it for her full 9 months, she had morning sickness her entire pregnancy 24/7.
Hi Mommies,... Does your doctor gave you alternative medicine for nausea than zofran because we all know they have bad reputation I was wondering if there is other medicine that can help nausea also. Ive been prescribe by 15pcs of zofran and I don't want to take them anymore.
Hi, I am just over 7 weeks with my first. I was put on Zofran this week due to exreme nausea. Ever since I started taking this I have not been able to have a bowel movement :/
I have tried miralax, prune juice, eating fruits, I even tried fleets glycerin liquid suppository today. I have had very little relief from any of this.
Any other suggestions?! I'm going crazy and starting to really have pains.
I feel for you. I've been taking Zantac 2x daily for reflux but doc has just switched me to protonix 1 x day cuz Zantac wasn't cutting it. I've had vomiting throughout this pregnancy due to hormones & reflux so I've been on and off zofran since week 8. Without the zofran I was dehydrated from vomiting so much & that was a viscious circle of IVs. If you're vomiting every meal you should definitely call.
It didn't do anything for me either. Some people just react differently to stuff than others. Maybe ask for Phenergan? It's another medicine that does the exact same thing as Zofran, and it may work better for you.
At my first doc appt she prescribed me zofran for the nausea. I was super excited until I Googled it and started reading all these bad things and now I'm nervous. After a week I finally caved and took a dose which made me feel normal again, and finally ate and kept it down. Has any other mommies taken the medicine and everything turn out ok? I don't wanna take it but it's the only thing that helps.
Gravol and tums help aswell.

I was a scared to take it because i thought im harming my baby but my baby is looking to be fine im 17w+3d i now take zofran which helps me better. Crackers, ginger ale and all that was no help. Smelling those pops makes me sick lol but the doctor is not gonna give you something that will harm your baby. So its ok to take the medicine to help ease your sickness.
I know morning sickness is common however mine is Extreme. I puke 3+ times every day cant keep anything down & even puke up pure liquid Like gatorade or stomach acid. Ice had to Miss work 2 days this month & go home early once bcuz of this. I cant sleep bcuz I just wanna puke & dont feel better after I puke. Am i being a big baby? Im bound & determined to get meds from my Sr today. I cant keep going on Like this!
Call your doctor. You might need to go in and get an iv, and a prescription called zofran. It'ssupposed to help with nausea.
I agree with the first comment. I have little to no appetite and all I do is drink liquids. But that doesn't stop me from puking and I puke all the liquid I've had for the day. Your doctor can give you pills for morning sickness. Good luck.
I took Zofran but it was for an off label use not for nausea which is its general use. Although it does control nausea it can create it in a minor way so the best thing to do is eat food with it. And it can be a bit sedating. Long term for Zofran a liver function test is advised as was by my provider but that's true of many medications including what I am on now.
Worst thing you can do is panic/worry. There are many things docs can try for you, just keep reminding them that you are struggling. I know i have been on Pepcid, Zofran, Benadryl and something else i can't recall at the moment. I have also used the ginger candy for nausea. There were days that sips of hot tea amd broth were all i could stomach. Hang in there.
My doc then prescribed me Zofran ( oral ) and promethazine back to back...i mean Zofran every 6 hrs and Promethazine every 4 hrs...it really helped..this week im feeling much better..i can eat and drink now...im still taking Zofran and stopped the Promathezine...its not good to vomit like this...my doc told me Dehydration can cause contraction..which is not good..also try Gatorade drinks instead of water..even chew on ice chips..that helped me lil bit...
t handle it so i got some meds called promethazine i took it once and it made me feel high and it made me also throw up like an hour later. so then i heard that zofran is way better so i asked my doctor for it so he prescribe it but then i found out my insurance does not cover it and i would have to pay 100$for 30 pills. but people tell me normally moring sickness goes alway at around 14 weeks so i don't know if i should buy it
would you guys buy it or just wait.
