I know how you feel this is my first to. I'm 16w now but when I was in my first trimester I wanted to die! My doctor told me to stop the prenatals and it helped so much just go get a chewable vitamins. And fruit was what I lived off of and I just snacked don't eat big meals yet just find little things to snack on.
Help! I'm 7wks 3days and vomit everything i eat! :( how long does the first trimester last?? I'm ready for it to be over! Lol i feel like it's pointless to eat because I'm just going to throw it up.. Advice please, oh to forgot to mention first time mother so I'm all new to this.
I took it with my first child but not very often I also lost 18lbs in my first trimester all although it did work it's now linked to many birth defects and I would suggest not taking it.
I took it both my last pregnancy and this one, both in first trimester. I have had severe morning sickness...or all day sickness, wasn't keeping anything down at all. Sometimes you have to weigh the benifits over the risks. I was losing weight and am small to begin with, and it came down to what was going to be best for baby. I was lucky if I could kerp water down for 5 minutes before it came back up...so I had to do something.
Yes, I have. My dr. Wouldn't prescribe it to me in my 1st trimester. He did once I entered my second and am still sick. He told me that it has been linked to cleft palets if taken in the 1 st trimester.
I lost 32 pounds in my first trimester and did not eat my first real meal until I was 16 weeks. Zofran saved my life!!!! The pills didn't work because I would throw them up so I have a Zofran pump that pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day! The doctor also has me on Reglan too; which pretty much does the same thing as Reglan. Although I am 38 weeks and have taken Zofran non stop for 32 of those weeks, it was Heaven sent!
In my first trimester I was so sick I was losing allot of weight and couldn't eat anything. My doctor said he wouldn't prescribable me zofran because it can cause heart problems in mommy. My Dr gave me phenergen and said he didn't like to give me that either but it's the lesser of two evils because it is known to sometimes cause muscle tightness in mommy.
What has helped some of you ladies to get through the first trimester? I can't eat much anymore, been relying on making fruit smoothies. I love food and could always eat anything, but that's a different story now. I'm always tired and I work full time 40+ hrs per week. So far I've been drinking ginger ale to help alleviate some of the symptoms.
Ask doctor to put you on something called Zofran it's an anti nausea medication. Safe ti take when pregnant. It is used a lot for chemotherapy patients. I had the same problem. I have 11 weeks left and I have lost 9 lbs. Not as bad as you but trust me that medication is a lifesaver.
I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!
( talk to your Dr about medicine. I was hesitant to take medicine because I thought I could get through it but I am 27 weeks and still have morning sickness without the zofran. Snack throughout the day until you get medicine. Granola bars and Apple's with peanut butter helped me.
Ladies dont take zofran!! The medicine used for morning sickness. There was a recall. It doubles the risk of birth defects when used in the first trimester. I'm not a dr/nurse or in the medical field of any sort... i saw it on tv and Googled the recall is all.
