Were any of you mommies given zofran while prego and had a healthy baby?
Before I heard anything about zofran they gave me 1 dose through an IV at the hospital.. And now I'm really scared. I told my doc and she didnt say anything. Send positive comments my way please!
There is no recall on zofran. It is safe to take during pregnancy. I took it for 7 weeks this pregnancy and no defects with this baby. Don't believe everything you hear on tv or online.
I am taking zofran and it's perfectly safe and a class b drug. The ads on tv are just lawyers trying to get money for a case they can't prove. The birth defects they state are the most common among all babies born no matter a family history or not. Don't be afraid to take it if you need it. If you are that afraid though, look up the study of 600,000 pregnant women in denmark in 2013 that proved it was safe.
I was originally prescribed zofran.. But then there was a back order because of the pending law suits and whatnot. So my doctor prescribed phenegran instead (generic name is promethazine). It's worked wonders! I'm about 16 weeks and I've taken it almost every day since week 7.. And a lot less scary side effect potential.
Hi. I am 40. 8 weeks. Was losing almost a lb a day. I'm on zofran now. Are any of you on it too? Has it helped?
I'm a FTM and have been diagnosed with Hypermesis. My nausea and vomiting started at 6 weeks and has yet to end and I'm 35 weeks today. Although I've lost 32 pounds and have been on IV's my entire pregnancy for nutrition/electrolytes, Zofran and Reglan have saved my life when it came to decreasing the vomiting and nausea!!! The pill didn't work so I have Zofran pump that pumps the medication into my stomach 24 hours a day.
I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.
I haven't heard of any risks and my doctor is pretty straight forward!
Is zofran safe to rake during pregnancy? I've read some stories and some say it's not and can cause heart defects is this true?
And I'm on zofran 3x a day but in am or after long nap it's to late and I get sick anyway.anyone know why ? Anyone know how to stop it?
It is perfectly fine to take while pregnant I took it threw out my first pregnancy and I'm currently taking it now threw my second pregnancy :)
This is my second pregnancy , my first was so awful I wasn't keeping anything down not even meds and I lost 20lbs the first trimester from my MS. I'm hoping this one goes smoothly . I'm only 4 weeks along but I'm. Starting to get nasousous and feeling like I'm about to throw up at all times so my dr . Put me on Zofran (which she did the first pregnancy put I couldn't keep it down so I barely took it) did you guys ever take it ? Does it really work .
Try asking the doc for zofran it's the only thing that saved me this pregnancy! It does cause severe constapation, so make sure u take some type,of stool softner with,it! But seriously if it weren't for zofran I don't think I would have maid it this far!
My friend took it with her pregnancies and delivered healthy babies,but i know there are massive lawsuits against zofran. I would say consult with your Dr and approach with caution.
Hi, I am 6 weeks pregnant almost 7 now and I have had the worse nausea of my life. Not much of throwing up just nausea. I was prescribed Zofran to help with that but I have found that a lot of women who have taken it have had their child born with deformities. Has anyone taken this medicine before???
So I've been seeing all this negative stuff about zofran causing all kinds of birth defects to unborn babies. I'm 30 weeks pregnant & I've been taking zofran my entire pregnancy, so it's worrying me. Has anyone else taken zofran? What are your opinions on it?
I took Zofran but it was for an off label use not for nausea which is its general use. Although it does control nausea it can create it in a minor way so the best thing to do is eat food with it. And it can be a bit sedating. Long term for Zofran a liver function test is advised as was by my provider but that's true of many medications including what I am on now.
