Case reports have described two women who have received ondansetron during pregnancy for life-threatening hyperemesis gravidarum. No abnormalities were noted in the offspring of these two women. Ondansetron is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.

I would highly recommend Zofran. It is used for nausea and it works WONDERS! They have other drugs likes Phenergan and Compozine, but the side effects are long and AWFUL (I know because I have taken both). I just looked at the med fact on Zofran and while it doesn't say much about breastfeeding while taking Zofran, there aren't any known problems with taking it during pregnancy.

is zofran safe to take during pregnancy... im 9 weeks and 4 days and the nasuea has been so bad i cant keep anythinf down at all...

I never used it during pregnancy but thy did give me a high dosage of it during labor it worked so good.

I had severe nausea during all four of my pregnancies and was only prescribed Zofran during my last pregnancy. My daughter was born with spina bifida and fused toes on one foot and several ear and skin tags. I was only taking prenatal vitamins and Zofran during this pregnancy. My daughter had to undergo spinal surgery at six months of age. She fortunately does not suffer the terrible heart defects some of the other unfortunate children did.

Any already moms used ZOFRAN during their pregnancy and baby came out perfectly fine? i started zofran a four weeks ago and i must admit i feel guilty for taking the pills but i was prescribed the pills vecause i couldnt hold anything down. i tried eveything and nothing helped. Zofran has been helping so much! i am able to keep foods down. still get horrible nausea but at least im able to eat. i tried to stop taking them but i threw up the whole entired day.

Is it safe to take zofran during pregnancy. My doctor perscibed it to me for nausea. But then i got freaked out about a commercial i saw in tv about zofran causing birth defects.

I took Zofran at the beginning of my pregnancy, it helped me a little with vomiting but i was still nauseous most the time.

Yes zofran is great. Took in beginning of pregnancy and now again towards the end..

Doctor is going to start me on vitamin b6 that helped me during my second pregnancy now on bby #3 hopefully it helps since I to have lost weight.u should adk your doctor if it would help u to. Just as a second choice.

t really taken it though just because by the time i feel sick its to late and i did see one of those terrible commercials on it lately so it kinda worried me but during my first pregnancy it was a life saver

t take it I have post nasal drip which drains into my stomach and makes me nauseous. Has anyone taken this before during pregnancy and had a healthy baby? And if you didn't take loratadine but have allergies (mine is to my cats, dust mites and we don't allow the cats in our bedroom) what did you do to manage ur allergysymtoms while pregnant? thanks.

Just saw a class action suit on tv against Zofran during pregnancy saying of your baby is or was born with a heart defect or birth defect to call them..I was prescriped yesterday for this medicine and took one today. Has anyone else taken them?

I tried to take the pills but I was way to sick for that! So I have been on the Zofran pump (pumps Zofran into my stomach 24 hours a day) for the last 3 months. It's been "Heaven sent" for me! I lost 28 pounds in my first trimester and was unable to eat or drink anything for 11 weeks! Now because of the pump, I can eat anything and have gained 3 of those pounds back!

in pregnancy as no pregnant women wants to put herself forward for testing but zofran has been used on millions of women with severe HG with very little effects. I am in UK and unfortunately our options for HG treatment is more limited than in Canada/US. Also the person who commented on the increase of cleft palates after being treated with zofran, studies have showed an increase in cleft palates in women who have taken zofran AND women who took none but had HG.

I also got Zofran from my dr and diclegis using the diclegis as a preventative and Zofran if I was actually throwing up miserable. Took the Zofran twice before seeing a commercial to call the law group if you tool Zofran during pregnancy and baby was born with defects so there's no way I would recommend taking zofran. All the diclegis is is a miracle combination of vitamin b6 and the antihistamine that's used in unison sleeping pills but for whatever reason it does wonders.

Zofran/Ondansetron is also used in pregnancy. I felt safe using this during pregnancy as I have known more women who have used it without any problems. it's a newer drug and works very well without the sedating side effects that promethazine can have. Here is the FDA information too. Ondansetron has been assigned to pregnancy category B by the FDA. Animal studies failed to reveal evidence of fetal damage. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy.

These risks include the Serotonin Syndrome which is a triad of cognitive or behavioral changes including confusion, agitation, autonomic instability, and neuromuscular changes. Therefore Zofran should not be taken during pregnancy.

There is no recall on zofran. It is safe to take during pregnancy. I took it for 7 weeks this pregnancy and no defects with this baby. Don't believe everything you hear on tv or online.

Every single commercial you see regarding a drug hits the rare side effects at the very end. Zofran is used in labor routinely and safely. I had to have it in both of my deliveries due to nausea and vomiting (seems I am a total wimp and that is part of my pain reaction). Listen to any drug add and they, at the very end, list a couple of things that according to the package inserts on these drugs is are very low but legally they have to mention them in order to broadcast an ad.

You can try unisom (doxylamine) abs vitamin b6. Those are the 2 things in a med used only for nausea during pregnancy. You can also try sea bands. The only thing that worked for me was the prescription Zofran. Good luck, I hope you feel better.

t want to risk and birth defects on my baby by using it regularly. The FDA also recommended to not take zofran during pregnancy due to the uncertainty of risk of birth defects. So for me I figured I'd suffer thru my nausea...lol.

I know every pregnancy has a risk of birth defects just because some times things out of our control happen, but I hate that no one ever mentions anything else they might have done during pregnancy..its terrifying thinking doctors cld give this out if it rly has been that much of a problem! I dont wanna take it anymore just because the unknown is scary!
